Really bad experience. Extremely slow service. It was a 15 minute wait for our table and we barely got our drinks from the bar before being seated because there was only one person making drinks for an entire restaurant on a Saturday night. Then when we were seated it took another 15 minutes to have a server even acknowledge us… by that point we just ordered right away. It was another 30 min before we got a small order of guac. Our food came out about 30 min after that and it was horrible. Cold, hard, dry and basically inedible rice and the hard shell tacos were super soggy and falling apart. About half way through dining the outdoor heaters came on… it reached 90 degrees yesterday so this was not at all necessary. We were roasting and asked that they be turned off… we were told they were working on it but they never actually got around to it. To top it off, my husband ended up with food poisoning last night. It could have been from the beans or the pico with the guac as I didn’t eat those two things. Overall really bad experience. Won’t be going back and I recommend nobody else chooses to dine here either.

Went for a date night had a reservation asked to be seated outside the manager who was seating people said she would seat us at our time even though there were atleast two tables free outside available and she didn’t even say that they were short staffed or say if we wanted to we could go to the bar it would be wait just attitude. Our waiter was Nate he is a rockstar even though they were short staffed he apologized right away and still took care of us very well. He has a great personality and even though he was stressed he never let the customers know it unlike his manager she should not be her attitude almost made us leave glad we didn’t got a great waiter who made it a good experience. It was like a freezer inside people were coming by the fire pit to warm up and had to get jackets just to deal with it. No music outside even though inside and there are speakers outside quite a few lights were out as well

First visit. Service a bit on the pokey side. Had to ask for silverware. Small quac tomatoes etc on side. I would prefer they be incorporated and cilantro should be included. Roasted tomato salsa good; would prefer if you could get verde also. Two soft marinated steak tacos ok, beef tender and a bit chewy, not very flavor forward. House beans good. All items could have been hotter. The rice was cold. The margarita flight disappointing. The flavors are all on the glass bottom with reg margarita plopped on top hard to incorporate. Don't recommend. Outside seating but no umbrellas. Was a shady side. Weirdly, on a very hot day they had the outside fireplace going and I could feel the unnecessary heat 2 tables away.
As there are so many authentic Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee, this would not be a priority for a return visit.

We come for the best Mexican food in the area. Wed night and pretty busy. Although the bartender was doing her very best to keep up but they also had her making table side guac for people. I seen two waiters come up towards the bar, waiting for their drinks to be made shaking their head at her because she wasn’t going fast enough. No team work from anyone there. Jahnaya gets all the stars. She was a trooper tonight with no help from any coworkers. Good job⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Where do I start. Went on a Tuesday afternoon and restaurant was empty. Service and food were bad. Took 20 min to come take our order. Took another 20 min to start making the table side guacamole. Took 40 min to get our main entree, and took 10 min for server to come back with my credit card. We were there a hour and 40 min. Finally the food was overcooked and bland. We will never be going back.

We use to love the food,we had the fajitas for 2 $42.00 we didn’t get plates to eat off of ,all there was it was some chicken a lot of onions 2 pieces of peppers, small dishes with a tablespoon of cheese, sour cream,guacamole 3 tortillas for 2 people we were paying the check we then got more water we had house margaritas it was so sour all lime juice I had to put a packet of sugar to beable to drink it, never going back terrible new menu.

Had a great experience at Uncle Julio’s for lunch! The fajitas were fresh and came out sizzling hot. Others in my group had the taco bar on a rotating platter with all the fixings, very unique and authentic they loved it and I'll be back for that next time! Our server Liza was fantastic—friendly and attentive. Even though it was pretty busy with the lunch rush, everything came out fresh and fast. This used to be one of my most favorite places.
Sad to see under new ownership things are different now. Charged $2.50 for a small dish of hot sauce, the food seems to have lost all of that glorious taste it used to have, im not sure if they arent seasoning enough or if they've changed how they do it or what but it was very bland, the servers seem like they have no interest in being there, rice was extremely dry...

Sad to see it go downhill... used to be my favorite go to spot for anniversary/birthday dinner/special events.

Have enjoyed Uncle Julio's since it first opened. We really enjoy the taco bar Tuesday and often pair it with a quick happy hour beverage at the bar. Today we had a "new" waiter and he said it was his 5th or 6th day, REALLY want to commend Joshua for making suggestions, even though we were Taco Bar for tonight. Joshua asked if we had ever tried the shrimp appetizer and to be sure to do so in the future. The manager Ken stopped by to be sure all was going well at which point Joshua stopped by again, they really wanted to be sure we were pleased. A definite pleasure and looking forward to the steak fajitas Ken suggested. Thanks for a fantastic evening, the leftovers came home for tomorrow. Keep leading by example , you have a great crew that will continue to improve!

It’s so sad to see what has happened to this place. When this first opened many years ago, we went there at least twice a month and were at the top of their loyalty program. Food was incredible. Service was great and it was always busy with a great atmosphere. We have given it two tries lately and unfortunately, both experiences have been terrible. The restaurant is not as clean as it used to be. There is not the same vibe or crowd. They aren’t making fresh tortillas anymore and the product coming out of the kitchen is subpar. It is such a bummer because this was such a good place. We went this past Friday and we got there one hour before our movie at Marcus. We ordered our food as soon as we sat down, and the food never came in time. We had ti leave without the food. The restaurant was not even half full and the reason we got was the kitchen was backed up. The margaritas are nothing compared to what they used to be and the presentation and taste is so different. Our server was working hard, but she can only do so much when the whole restaurant is letting her down. Unfortunately, this place has to be off the list of places to go to.

The first time I came here with my husband there was a piece of glass in his margarita. Thankfully he realized it right away and was able to spit it out. That was a few years ago, so today when we were in the mood for Mexican we figured that incident was unlikely to happen again and to give them another shot. The food was bland. The bartender was stretched way too thin serving tables outside and all around the bar. One couple even walked out after sitting at the bar without getting anything to drink. But then.. one guy making a drink *over the ice* broke a glass and a few minutes later just threw more ice over the old ice. If you’ve ever worked at a bar you should know you need to drain the ice before adding more when you break a glass. Never going back.

This location seems really mismanaged. On a Saturday night many things were out of stock. They didn't have ingredients to make one of their signature cocktails, or even simply chicken tenders for a kids meal.

Everything seemed really really overpriced. Nearly $20 for a double Tito's and lime. Fajitas are their claim to fame but I think you're better off staying home and making it yourself. Chilis might even be a better value. It was $45 for steak and chicken fajitas for 2. Steak was pretty decent but chicken was just chicken. It looked like plain, grilled chicken breast on top of a very small serving of sauteed onions and peppers. It was evident it wasn't even cooked with them or seasoned appropriately. This grilled chicken was also served as a replacement for the chicken tenders with no communication of the issue.

Mix in the fact management threw a poor, fresh out of training server at a large group and gave them zero support and it was a recipe for disaster. Management said they shouldn't have been serving our table and they wish they had known earlier so the manager could have helped the server. Well it seems that should have been the manager's job to know who is covering which tables. It took 25 minutes just to hear they couldn't make our drinks, and nearly an hour and a half to get our food. And even then we couldn't get the chicken tenders for a child in our party who waited 2 hours and ended up with a plate of fries. The manager did end up comping that familys food, but not without blaming a rush of back to school diners and a lack of staff/inexperienced server for the inconvenience. At the price point of ~$100/couple your customers deserve better, and your employees do too.

Like many other reviews, I agree this place was great when it opened. Tonight when we arrived, there was no one at the host stand and we waited 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were even there. Then it took another 10 minutes after we were seated for someone to greet us and take our order. It was not very crowded at all and there were 4 tables with dirty dishes and glasses that were not cleared the entire time we were there. The prices have gone up, the chips tasted like old oil and the food was mediocre. I will give then, this: once our order was taken, the food came quickly. Before we were even down eating, we were asked if we planned to have dessert. Won’t be back and not interested in you wanting to “make it right “.

The table salsa a thick chipotle pepper salsa and thin crispy chips.

I will not be going here again. Our visit started off good, slightly bothered by everyone lazily parking right on the curb surrounding the patio, which obstructs any scenery, especially when there is an abundant parking lot. Our server was sweet. The lemonade, water, and salsa was good. Then is started go so bad. Prices were not insane, the menu was small, so that indicated they knew what they were doing and you were going to get some really good food. The "steak" was the WORST steak I have ever had. Flavorless, cooked incredibly poorly, and grotesque once I started picking it apart. I ate one of the tacos and realized how long it took to chew and swallow it. The rice was dry. and everything came out way too fast. I was extremely polite when she came to check, and said I honestly am surprised how poor the quality is. The manager came and I told her "this is the worst steak I have ever had in my life." she did not care. I believe the exact quote was "its a new steak." Like is that an excuse or just a knee jerk response? She seemed annoyed that I couldn't eat anymore and simply asked for a chicken breast to replace the steak that looked like it was boiled. 3 minutes on the table it started looking like it was spoiled. The amount of onion, green pepper, and red pepper are laughable that you get. You hardly get any cheese, but a huge amount of sour creme and guacamole. So I get the chicken, and it is incredibly flavorless and barely eat any of it. My fiance took me out and I felt so bad that I had nothing good to say about it. Meanwhile, an ENTIRE group of children got onto the patio screaming their heads off, throwing hats around like they were brides throwing a bouquet into a crowd. All the parents were inside just chilling like they didnt even care. We asked for the check, and waiting to get it actually took longer than the entire actual food experience. Waitress was great until we just wanted to get the check and go. I've never left a restaurant still hungry and paying over 60 bucks. The crazy thing is, the reviews are telling you exactly the issue and nothing changes. Looks like there are tons of people who say your flavorless unauthetic Mexican food is complete trash and you dont seem to be addressing it. Looks like you send out generic apologies with no real call to action to improve your establishment. I think a full refund was justified, but we arent those types of customers. You just won't get our money again.

I will agree with a previous review that the “service was adequate” even though they weren’t busy. They may have just finished a rush and we caught a lull at 6:30 on a Friday night. We weren’t in a hurry.
The chips and salsa were good and the fajita dinner that we split was A LOT. I’m almost embarrassed at the amount I took home because we ate plenty and barely dented it.

We were there at 4 on a Friday to beat the dinner rush. We were seated at a table that was absolutely filthy. I used my menu to move food particles off the seat.
There was so much food under and around our table from previous customers that i actually had my feet up under me on the seat so i wouldn't step in it. We did ask the hostess to please clean it up as it was disgusting to look at as we were eating. Nothing was done to address this issue while we were there.

I have to say first, when Uncle Julio’s first opened we ate there 8 straight weeks and the food was amazing, long wait but worth it, last few times the food has gone down hill and today was the last time I go back. I first ordered the Pablo I think it’s called that comes with 1 enchilada, 2 tamales red and green, and 1 taco, served with rice and beans…… let me tell you something, if you’ve ever seen canned tamales from Walmart these were it! They tasted terrible and I KNEW I was not going to get fresh made tamales with the husk and everything but to get these was unexpected and not in a good way lol then the taco was also another item they should have just not. The hard shell at Taco Bell looks more appealing, this shell was almost white, like I don’t even know how that happens. When you think of a hard shell taco you think yellowish right? Nope and the meat was NOT seasoned. Tasted like they just put it in the pan, drained the grease and slapped it on there… ugh.. then the waitress comes back and I flat out asked her, “are these from a can” she pauses for a second and she asks me “which one?” Like if multiple items on the plate are canned but I clarified and I said the tamales. She kinda laughs and say they MIGHT be but she had that face when someone knows the answer but can’t really say. So she asks if I want something else. She is super nice by the way. And I ordered the chicken fajitas.. you can’t really mess up chicken fajitas, at least you shouldn’t or you should not be cooking. They came out and they were NOT seasoned, the chicken looked almost like processed deli meat, I mean look at the picture. Did you boil the chicken? My plate was full of onions, 1 jalapeño and 1/8 of a bell pepper because I couldn’t find more than 2 slices. The tortilla’s were like plastic, hard and cold on the edges but soft and warm in the center… the rice I am pretty sure comes from a packet because it tastes as if my mother in-law made it… the beans were meh.. overall I think and it’s my personal opinion that either the restaurant is struggling and cutting back on quality or they just don’t care and the quality has just slipped because they don’t care as much. Either way it’s not what it used to be and I hope they pay more attention to what they are serving.

This used to be my favorite restaurant and I was in love with the fish tacos, but with a promotion to celebrate and faith in my past experiences I came here again. The house made chips and salsa are still excellent, as is the steak quesadilla, but that's where my positive experience ends. AWFUL experience. Went there Saturday night for a birthday celebration, and it was dead. Only 1 other table was there, and they were a large party, like we were. We got there later in the evening (830) and were seating. However, the waitress had a very difficult time keeping up with both tables. Food was less then mediocre. It took a long time to get drink refills. On top of it all, we asked for the chocolate pinata and she said oh sorry kitchen is closed. What?! Had chicken fajitas. Not a lot of meat; it was obviously frozen chicken that was reheated. NO peppers or tomato, just a few slices of sauted onions. Enchiladas had no sauce. No traditional salsa just some k8nd of green brown concoction, which was ok, but I prefer traditional salsa. Asked if we could have some and was told no, that brown green stuff was all they had now. Took 45 minutes to get guacamole and hot salsa. Hot salsa tasted like Taco Bell ground beef. 30 minutes later, the food came out for all but one. Nobody apologized and said they'd fix it, they just walked away.
Never had anyone come back and ask if we needed more drinks or waters.
Once you step in the kitchen, they all jump into action, but even then, the manager didn't remove the food that was forgotten from the bill. One offered to remove it after the other already rang it through.
Most tables were empty at our 4:30 dinner. Unacceptable. Don't go here.

Update: two days later, I have a second charge pending on my credit card statement that wasn't on the bill that I signed.

Front door was locked at 8:20pm yesterday, a Sunday. The hours on their website say open until 9pm. No sign on the door about why they were locked. Unfortunately, this is 3rd time I've tried to visit during their posted open hours and the doors locked. It would help to post a sign (no power, flood, etc.) visible upon walk up.

We entered the restaurant, nobody there to greet us. After 10 minutes, when we were about to leave, the hostess showed up and took us to a table, next to a large party table that seemed to take all the attention of the few available staff.
We waited sitting at the table for 10 more minutes and nobody came to ask about drinks, or anything at all.
At the end we left the place 100% disappointed.
We will never come back to this place.

Starting with the service, it was far below standard. Our server was annoyed that two of our group were vegetarians, she didn’t want to find out what was in the food and what kind of meat. She was further frustrated when we had asked to have the check split before we even ordered. There were 6 of us. Between ordering, having the food served, and finishing the meal she only saw us once for each occurrence. The food took an hour to reach us and there was supposedly an issue with staff in the kitchen but we were not communicated that. Hence, the table next to us was getting up to leave when their food luckily was just coming out. Would not recommend this restaurant if you’re wanting a nice dining experience. The food was good but everything else just didn’t make it worth it unfortunately.

Highly recommend avoiding at all costs. We had a large group but the restaurant was not busy. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks and they never asked if we wanted anything else. Food came out cold. People at the table asked for more chips twice with no response so two of us got up and got them ourselves . My husband went to the bar and no one was there-he saw 4 employees doing shots. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and the manager and staff did not care. The only thing done right was they were willing to do individual checks. otherwise a big fail.

The Restaurant is located in a good area and there looks great with good people trying to enjoy a good food, unfortunately they have a not qualified servers and personnel, the servers are trying to cover more tables due to the lack of enough staff and it is not their fault, it is undoubtedly due to poor management. I expend a lot of time only for the drink with no chips on my table, so just imagine when I will get my food. Also the floor was with trash and dirty.
This is a business and the owner needs pay attention because it is losing money and customers.

We were a table of 4 with reservations. We were seated promptly, but waited 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge our presence. We waited another 15-20 minutes for her to take our orders. Drinks were bland (watermelon margaritas), plus they were out of Corona, and again, took an inordinate amount of time to get them after ordering. We literally were at our table for over an hour before we got our food, which was ok but not great. Warm, not hot. We saw at least two other tables who were seated after us get their food and were done eating before we even got our food. I ordered another margarita and didn’t get it delivered until we were done eating. I realize it was a busy night (Cinco De Mayo), but service and food were disappointing.

My friend and I went last night to get dinner. We both have never been to Uncle Julio's before and let's just say we'll never go back. We both ordered the chicken tacos with rice and beans. 1. Don't get the beans- they are downright disgusting! 2. The rice is just awful. Everything on our plate was cold and terribly bland. The chips and queso were the most edible. I wouldn't call Uncle Julio's a Mexican restaurant because I've had way better and this place isn't worth anyone's time or money. Only positive was the friendliness of the staff. However, when we walked in we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and the lady in front of us to be seated.

This is a lovely restaurant serving great Mexican food, with extremely good ambience, and service to match it up. The staff is well knowledgeable, and courteous. There's always ample place for seating, including patio outdoors, with fire side tables. They have a dedicated menu for kids, and a great selection of alcohol. Considering the quality of food, and service, the place is quite inexpensive.

Update - I have updated the review, and rated it 4 stars due to the limited options available for vegetarians. They have an updated menu, with minimal vegetarian options.

It was definitely a wait when I went, but it wasn’t too bad. Even though we made a reservation, it was a still a little bit of a wait. Nothing outrageous. The waiter was real chill and laid back, very helpful. Unfortunately, the chips and dip were thee most flavorful dish. The chicken and steak tacos were quite bland I didn’t detect a hint of carne asada, taco seasoning or anything. Just salt and pepper, the cheese added a little favor but not much. I will say the experience was cool, but the food wasn’t worth the wait. It wasn’t flavorful, wasn’t unforgettable or mind blowing. If I feel like I gotta bring my own hot sauce, seasonings or what have you to a restaurant I will not be back. Even expected the dessert to lack favor, but it had so much favor it was over powering. The chocolate tasted like an over bearing Mexican chocolate, the churros were made elsewhere and tasted processed. Overall didn’t enjoy the food, but the drinks and good conversation were a plus.

Update, a few days later I made all of these items at home and regretted going.😂

My group had a reservation for a party of 13 on a Tuesday night. We were sat by a nice hostess right away, and it was a steady flow of tables. Our group sat for 45 minutes without a single person coming to check on us or order drinks. Many employees and even the manager looked directly at us and completely ignored us. We then called for the manager, which had the biggest attitude and acted like we were in the wrong. Completely disrespectful. I haven't been here in awhile, but I remember it being great food. This now is one of the worst dine in experiences I've had trying to celebrate a 12th birthday with family, and I will not be returning or advise anyone else to for this kind of management.

I like Uncle Julio's food-decent. Which is why I keep giving them a shot. But this has taken the cake.
This is at least the third or fourth time I have gotten a delivery/pick up order wrong with missing food. Usually they are pretty nice about taking the food off and not charging, or holding it so I can go pick up the rest.
But this time, I ordered five meals for me and my colleagues at work through the restaurants website which then sent the delivery to doordash. Once delivered, I noticed (yet again) I am missing TWO MEALS. So two people are going without dinner. I call the restaurant and am connected to some male manager that then tells me the two items (that are LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE) are no longer available. I said ok why didn't you call me so I could get something else? He said they couldn't get my phone number- which I then look at the receipt stapled to my delivery and there was my number-right at the bottom. I told this to the manager and he just goes ya sorry..bye. and hangs up. So if you're up for dining in the restaurant-great. But be for-warned that pickup/delivery will most likely end in a missing meal and a manager who could give zero shits and some serious disappointment :)

Absolutely terrible experience. The food was horrible bland and clearly not authentic. The rice tasted like it came from a box, the beans were disgusting, and there was no seasoning on anything. The woman couldn't find our reservation and I had to show her my phone. She finally found it with help from the second young lady and then told us we had to wait 10 minutes because it wasn't our reserved time to be seated yet (tables were open). We saw them arbitrarily turn folks away who didn't have a reservation when there were a bunch of open tables. They did let SOME folks go to the bar area - don't know how they pick and chose who stayed and who had to leave. People were obviously getting annoyed with waiting and being ignored. There was a man cleaning menus in a kind-of Hawaiian shirt behind the host/hostess stand who talked to the customers with his back turned when the 2 hostesses disappeared, and then shouted the name of someone who was supposed to be seated, hands around mouth, while laughing. I hope he wasn't the manager. Really a turn off there.

Extremely disappointed by my recent experience at Uncle Julio's. The food was mediocre at best, and what started as a celebration dinner turned into one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences I've had in recent memory.

Despite having a reservation and the restaurant being largely empty, our server seemed determined to rush us out the door. Most concerning was when our server dropped off the check **just 28 minutes after being seated**, while we were actively eating our main courses - without even asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. For what was meant to be a celebratory dinner, this felt jarringly rushed.

The treatment was particularly jarring given the stark contrast in service we observed around us. While other tables received attentive service and were allowed to dine at their leisure, our table was subjected to minimal check-ins and an obvious attempt to hustle us out, despite numerous empty tables throughout the restaurant. While she seemed to imply that we could take our time when she dropped off our check, her actions did not.

When I brought this to the manager's attention, her response was equally unprofessional - nervously laughing and crumpling up our check before providing a new one. We did end up ordering and enjoying dessert after requesting a new check. Curiously, our first check was printed while the second arrived on a tablet for self-payment - just one of many inconsistencies in how our table was treated compared to others.

My parents, who have extensive experience in the service industry, were visibly uncomfortable with the treatment we received. The fact that they recognized the irregularity of the service speaks volumes. Despite the poor service, we still left an 18% tip, understanding the importance of gratuity for service workers - though the experience certainly didn't warrant it.

Perhaps most telling is that despite the restaurant being nowhere near capacity, with plenty of open tables, we were the only table subjected to this rushed, subpar service. I leave this review not out of spite, but as a warning to other diners and in hope that management will reflect deeply on their establishment's service standards and treatment of guests. A celebration dinner shouldn't leave you feeling unwelcome and discriminated against - regardless of your background.

I went to Uncle Julio’s in Brookfield, December 30th, 2024. It was a party of 12. We got there at 6:30. I thought this was be a great experience and it turned out awful! There were chips and salsa there for us which was nice. We didn’t get any of our drinks until maybe 40mins of being there. We put in our appetizers and food orders only to still wait until close to 8:30 to receive anything. An appetizer took so long some people canceled. Me along with three other people didn’t get any food. I was told they were out of what I wanted at the time they brought out everyone’s food! Meaning I had no time to even try and figure out something else. Someone else ordered two beef tacos and they didn’t have those!!! There was also so much blame and no accountability. The manager pushed blame, the server pushed blame and said he lied about her putting in our orders at a specific time. It was just a bad experience overall! Manager said, “just sit down and enjoy your food, we’ll make it worth your while.” Like not even an apology for the work of your staff.

My friend and I went for dinner and it was the worst experience. I have been to this restaurant many times and never received This type of service. I’m not sure if the management team has changed or what’s going on at this place.
We were the first people sitting in a section in the back by the bathrooms, It took 10 minutes for a server to even greet us. When she did greet us, she was pleasant and took our drink order and came back with our requested waters and my friends soft drink. We asked to order our food then because we were very hungry. I assumed the bar was making our drinks, And we wanted to get our food rolling.
She brought our drinks back. But then from there, we were waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and then all of a sudden she showed up at our table with guacamole telling us that they had a meeting in the kitchen, by this time we had already been waiting an hour for our food. Our reply was, why would the restaurant be having a meeting during a dinner rush? Shouldn’t they be taken care of the customers? Another 45 minutes past and we still didn’t have our food and everybody around us that had been sat within the hour and 45 minutes that we were there had been served and many were leaving or on their dessert. Finally, our food came out we both ordered the same thing, fajitas, and it was cold and not sizzling, and it was brought to our table by somebody, who I don’t even know who it was, and she just dropped it on our table, and didn’t say a word, and I felt the food it was cold, and I said this food is cold. We do not want this fajitas are supposed to be sizzling. She didn’t say anything she just grabbed the fajitas put them on her tray and walked away. It was the hottest thing we were like OK bye 😂. At this point we decided that we wanted to leave And take our business elsewhere. So, I stepped away from the table to use the restroom and they came back with what was probably the same food reheated to a sizzling status, but we said we did not want it, and the manager came to our table after trying to hail her, but she was seemingly ignoring us. We wanted to pay for our drinks and go, but she said we could just go And that the drinks were on the house. I am a former food service industry worker I have worked in the front of the house, and bartender for over 25 years. I’ve worked in the corner places and the finest places in the city, and I have never known any protocol like this when handling these types of situations. I know what proper protocol and ways to handle situations like this are and they most definitely should’ve handled it differently, it was almost surreal. Do better uncle Julio.

Do NOT waste your money. The server was absolutely sweet and great! The food however outrageous. First they have these glass jar of water that look filthy. We asked for another one but apparently “ they all look like that.” So water was brought in a glass which was also dirty ( and more than likely the same water that was in the jar ). Secondly we’d ordered the queso berias and nachos. The nachos were pathetic. Half of a tortilla with chicken/ stake and cheese all over with the nacho extras on the side. That is not what we were expecting esp for $17.50.. our total with the two meals , 2 margaritas of the month that tasted like pickles was $77. A complete waste of money. It's been awhile since I last ate at Julio's primarily because they are probably the most expensive Mexican restaurant in Wisconsin, but they had excellent food in the past (except for their steak fajitas that were always under seasoned) and they sent me a $20 off a $50 purchase which is an unheard of deal from any restaurant. Now I see why they sent me that unbelievable offer. I ordered the trio fajita combo (can't remember the exact name) which had steak, chicken and shrimp. Their homemade flour tortillas use to be one of their shining stars, but this time they were very small, 3" in Dia. and very thick, 1/4" thick. So thick they were inedible. I also found a large slice of onion mixed in with the fajita veggies that was from the outer skin of an onion. Absolutely inedible! I had lunch with a friend and before the $20 discount the bill totaled $90 without alcohol being ordered. I can eat at any other Mexican restaurant for $30 easy and with the two glaring issues I had with my meal Julio's better work on their quality control or they may not be around a year from now.

Well, my order was wrong, it wasn’t very busy. Unfortunately, the spot I was sitting at was breezy cold. My waiter was nice, but I had already put my credit card through the machine, so he couldn’t adjust my ticket, after I pointed out I got the wrong selection of enchiladas.

I've had the chicken fajitas twice, and it has been perfect both times. I haven't talked to anyone personally who had a bad experience here.
Update. It's still great. I've been getting the combination of chicken and steak fajitas, and it's awesome.

Sloooow and understaffed. The manager had to step in as our waiter was swamped. We watched customers walk out waiting for a hostess to seat them. Our food was cold when it finally arrived. $47 later and we could have eaten anywhere else for hot food and decent service. We wont be back.
