Awesome little breakfast spot. The burrito and Wolfundito were both delish. Bloodys were too! And loved the little shop attached. We took a little walk while we waited for our table and stumbled upon the Sanger House gardens, beautiful! Lovely Sunday morning. We will be back!

This place is truly cozy and inviting location with an amazing chef. The dish I tried was absolutely incredible, and it’s really rare to experience such a perfect combination of flavors. The chef clearly knows exactly what they’re doing, and the service is excellent.

A quick note: be prepared to wait for a table about 25 minutes on weekdays and possibly around 40 minutes on weekends, according to my friends who live nearby. They’ve also mentioned that it’s very hard to get a table on weekends.

I was absolutely delighted by the food. The potatoes were simply amazing- perfectly cooked inside. I suspect they might boil them before baking, but whatever the method, it was incredibly tasty. My friend and I were both very impressed.

The only thing that disappointed me was that some drink prices were missing from the menu, such as lemonade, coffee, and matcha. I also found the price of the matcha lemonade quite high -almost $10. Had I known, I wouldn’t have ordered it. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the lemonade very tasty, even though I asked them to reduce the syrup (it usually comes very sweet). I also didn’t realize that extras like fresh mint and syrup were charged separately, and I could barely taste them. So this part was a bit upsetting. I recommend asking about the price of drinks not listed on the menu beforehand.

Another nice touch is that in the same building, there’s a small shop selling cosmetics, bags, and, as it seemed to me, a few antique items. There’s also a terrace nearby where you might be able to enjoy drinks, though I didn’t quite figure out how it works.

Overall, though, this place is wonderful, and I definitely want to return to try more of their likely delicious dishes.

We visited for breakfast and all our meals were fantastic! The menu was very diverse and we had a hard time choosing what to order. I got the avocado toast and my husband got a breakfast burrito. They’re both classic dishes but had a unique twist. Gluten free bread was also available as an option for the avocado toast. The service was excellent too! My husband also came here again for dinner and loved his entree.

The food and latte was amazing. I ordered the Lil phatty with the tomato Serrano added, and the sauce it comes with, was absolutely delectable. And the potatoes are delicious. The barista was amazing and made a beautiful caramel latte. Everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked mouthwatering. If we're ever back in the area again, we will stop in!

Loved this place! The interior feels very organic, clean, and thoughtfully designed, warm, quaint, and welcoming. It has the charm of a locally owned spot (and it definitely feels like one).

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, which made the whole visit even better. Coffee was bold and delicious, served in a great rustic mug, and the avocado toast was outstanding, crispy bread, fresh toppings, and so much flavor.

Overall, a cozy, well-kept spot with great food, great people, and a great vibe. Highly recommend!

We had a super long wait, but the food and atmosphere made it worth it. The dishes are super interesting and allergen-friendly (I’m gluten free and had a lot of options), and the cocktails are refreshing and balanced.

The inside of the restaurant is pretty small and the food comes out fast. Got the breakfast poutine, huevos rancheros, eggs hollandaise, and a breakfast sandwich. Recommend all of them.

Heads up: This is mostly a biscuits and gravy review.

If you’re craving traditional buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, that’s not what you’ll find here. The biscuit is overly sweet (I think they use cornmeal?) and more crumbly than fluffy. The gravy was thin and saltiness overpowered all other flavors. The best sausage gravy is infused with the flavors of sausage, while this was a little flat/one-note.

I would definitely go back to Uncle Wolfie’s to try something else on the menu. My friend’s breakfast burger looked impeccable and the vibes were excellent, even on a random Tuesday morning.

Uncle Wolfie's is an unbelievably great breakfast/lunch spot! I have eaten here twice and both were wonderful experiences. My first visit a year prior in 2024, I was even lucky enough to be served by the owner himself, Wolf. I told him then and I'll say it again here, this place is something special!

They have a very interesting menu with a clash between time-tested classics as well as incredibly unique, ultra-flavorful menu items. Their food rivals the quality and flavor profile of many Michelin Guide designated or James Beard awarded restaurants, without the frills (or price tag) of a true 'fine-dining' experience. The tavern potatoes are a MUST!

The kitchen staff and service team deserve a standing ovation. They've taken an unassuming breakfast joint and turned it into a place I want to return every time I visit Milwaukee. My server/bartender [Carson] was knowledgeable, kind, and had great recommendations for me, top notch service all around!

Photos [sorry for the mid-meal quality pics] feature their crispy chili-oil fish sandwich, tavern potatoes, and chocolate chip pancakes. Be warned, they are popular and you may need to wait or go early to get a table when you want it! Already looking forward to my next visit to Wolfie's!

We had a group of 6 on a Friday morning about 10:30 - the greeter let us know it was a 40 minute wait and I am so glad we did wait. They seemed really passionate when describing the specials and you can tell they really care about their restaurant. I only snagged a photo of our poutine (which was probably the best thing we had) but everyone loved their burgers, breakfast items and the Bloody Mary was so flavorful

It was very good food, but I not sure if it was worth the wait.
It is clearly very popular and a little high priced for breakfast, but they definitely know what they’re doing in the kitchen. As long as you know what you’re signing up for, you’ll have a great meal
I would get there about 5-10 min before they open, especially on Saturdays

I'm so happy we had the opportunity to try Uncle Wolfie's Breakfast Tavern! A few drivers recommended it to us, and they were right on the money. One even warned us to come early because they sometimes run out of the popular dishes (pro tip: listen to the locals 😄).

The vibes are welcoming and cozy, the service was very attentive, and the food... on point.
🤍 The Wolfie’s Patty Melt was absolutely perfectly melted, flavorful, and satisfying. Truly a five-star bite! ✨✨✨✨✨

Food was quite good-wait time after placing order was excessive. They bill themselves as a higher end breakfast dining experience, but then allowed our server to wear athletic gym shorts, a tee, and Crocs with athletic socks. Sorry, but that ruined the aesthetic you appear to be striving for. Also, the ladies restroom had areas of the flooring that hadn't been touched for quite some time as there was a fair amount of "gunk" build-up. Not what I expected after paying over $80 for two people for brunch.

Great Ramen. Definitely some of the best I've had in Wisconsin. Gyoza is also good. The ramen broth is thick and rich, I had the Gyokai Tonkatsu. It's different from other Tonkatsu I've had, but it's not a bad thing. If butter (Hokkaido style) was a topping option it would definitely level that broth up, as it is very similar to Hokkaido style ramen in texture and flavor. Overall I would definitely come back for a bowl and think any other ramen lovers should enjoy one too. Hopefully it becomes more of a thing in the future rather than just a pop up.

My wife and I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and we were up in Milwaukee for Memorial Day Weekend. We had tried to come to Uncle Wolfie's before but the wait was significant so we decided to wake up early and get there right when the opened at 8:00 am. We're so glad we did because it was sensational! The poutine, the fried chicken and biscuit and the johnny cake were all next level. Their coffee game is also excellent! My latte couldn't have been better. If you're deliberating about getting out of bed to try breakfast here, do yourself a favor and hustle over! So worthwhile!

We were visiting from out of town and decided to check out Uncle Wolfie’s for brunch. We arrived around 9:15 AM, put our names on the list, and were told it would be about an hour wait. The host pointed out a QR code for outdoor seating where we could place drink orders to be delivered—such a thoughtful touch! Since it was a beautiful morning, we walked around the neighborhood and grabbed a coffee nearby.

On our way back, we used the QR code to order drinks. The Bloody Mary was everything you'd hope for in Wisconsin—garnished with a cheese curd, part of a beef stick, a pickle, and even came with a can of Miller Lite. The mimosa was extra bubbly, just how I like it!

About 45 minutes after checking in, we got a text offering seats at the bar, which we gladly accepted. We were greeted right away, and the service throughout our meal was fantastic. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the poutine—both were generous, flavorful, and needed nothing more.

Highly recommend Uncle Wolfie’s for brunch. It’s absolutely worth the wait and delivers a truly enjoyable experience from start to finish!

Excellent environment! Food unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype. Biscuits and gravy were expensive, the biscuits were also too hard and lacked softness besides the center, a lot of high quality ingredients but the flavor was average. Too many chives and there wasn’t the traditional cream flavor that you expect from a biscuits and gravy. The ube chai was really solid, I recommend this. My service was very slow. I never got to ask for a water refill because I was never checked on. Considering how live the restaurant was, I’d like to return and try a new menu item. Its location gives you an excellent view of downtown Milwaukee.

Unless you’ve made a reservation with the gods, good luck.

We tried-multiple times-to get into Uncle Wolfie’s or Nite Wolf Ramen. Each visit was met with wait times over 90 minutes, zero chance of squeezing in, and the unshakable sense that unless you're part of some secret elite reservation coven, you're just not getting a table.

Clearly, they’re doing something right-it’s always packed. But I wouldn’t know. And at this point? I probably never will.

If you're just visiting, save yourself the heartbreak. Milwaukee has plenty of great spots without the mythical waitlist. Move on and eat happy elsewhere.

Overall, a great place. Excellent food, portions way too big but i guess that’s normal here. One thing that would make food perfect is a smoothie selection.
In terms of service, it’s mostly good. We were joining our friends and had to deal with “that’s the rules of the boss” which meant we couldn’t add a 7th chair to our table. It’s easily explained by the kitchen not wanting to deal with more than 6 people order at once but could have been handled better.

It was all great! It's worth the wait! It's a small place, so it made sense. This was our first time here, and I had the charred chicken on a biscuit. This is my new favorite chicken sandwich!!!

Up in Milwaukee this past weekend for a quick 24 hour getaway. Went to Uncle Wolfie's because we saw a recent episode of Wisconsin Foodie (PBS) featuring WI egg farmers and how Wolfie's supports and features local purveyors. First time customers. We couldn't be more pleasantly surprised!. The Spamelette omelette was hands down the best omelette I've ever eaten! Why are we still cooking American style omelettes? And more spam please in other dishes too :) My wife loved the Big Wolf Breakfast as well. Wolfies knows how to treat breakfast and eggs with style! And, their staff exude kindness! Our server was so cheery and helpful - made our morning! Cup of Joe was great too (will come back for the Bloody). Absolutely worth the wait. We will be back to try other items on the menu… looking at you Breakfast Poutine and Pannise Benedict! Did we say we are FIBs? Who knew they could be so nice?!

I had heard of Uncle Wolfie’s before but was unprepared for just how good it really is. The Pannise Benedict is phenomenal and I still can’t figure it how they make standard scrambled eggs so incredibly good. Don’t miss out on the potatoes and if you still have room have a Johnny cake too . My only complaint is that I couldn’t eat for the rest of the day. It’s a big meal. Our waiter was a great kid and super helpful. Important note: On a Saturday, get there by 8:30 and you’re fine but by 9am you’ll wait a half hour. I’m not being casual when I say it’s the best breakfast in town. Bring friends from out of town. They’ll be impressed.

Hands down, this is one of the best new breakfast places in the Milwaukee area. Set in an old Miller tavern (hence the upside down "M" that is now a "W" for Wolfie on the outside entrance), this small, cozy and enchanting breakfast/lunch nook is creating quite the buzz in Milwaukee! The service is friendly and just the right temperature of fun, but not in your face and I love the laid back attitude and the "we know we got something good but hey we're cool," vibe. The food! Oh, the food, food, food food, FOOD! Just go! Be prepared to wait a little or a lot on the weekends, but just know it's worth it! Anything is great, but bloodies are awesome with just the right amount of spice! The biscuits are amazeballs! Flakey, buttery goodness coated in yummy, mouthwatering sausage gravy, all made from scratch right there! The tostada was excellente! Refereshing, and light even with the ( you would think) heaviness of pulled pork, but not so. Enough talking! Go eat!

A Culinary Love Letter: Uncle Wolf’s Nite Ramen

Hidden in the dim glow of the city’s late-night food scene, Uncle Wolf’s Nite Ramen is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. From the moment you step inside, the intoxicating aroma of slow-simmered broths and charred chashu beckons, promising a bowl of ramen that transcends expectation.

The moment that first sip of broth touches your lips, it becomes clear: this isn’t just food; this is passion in liquid form. The depth of flavor in each bowl speaks of hours—no, days—of meticulous preparation. The noodles, perfectly al dente, carry just the right amount of bite, a testament to the chef’s relentless pursuit of perfection. The toppings—be it a molten-yolked ajitama egg, a delicate kiss of black garlic oil, or the smoky richness of tender pork belly—are carefully composed, layering textures and flavors in a way that feels almost orchestral.

But what truly elevates Uncle Wolf’s Nite Ramen beyond the ordinary is the undeniable sense that every bowl is crafted with love. The chef, a maestro of umami, doesn’t just cook—he creates. His devotion is evident in every rich, velvety spoonful, every precisely torched slice of meat, every whisper of fresh scallions.

This is ramen that warms not just the stomach but the soul. It’s the kind of dish that lingers in your memory, making you crave it long after the last drop of broth has been savored. Uncle Wolf’s isn’t just serving noodles; he’s serving art. And if there’s a better late-night bowl in the city, I have yet to find it.

Final Verdict: 10/10 – A Ramen Revelation

We watch Wisconsin Foodie for ideas and we're excited to try Uncle Wolfie's. We arrived at the Brewer's Hill location at 12:05 and we were told there was a 40-minute wait but we were seated in 20 minutes. It's a tight space so we could wait in the shop or outside for the text. We placed our orders and then waited until it was served at 1:15, nearly a 45 minutes wait. The review can be broken down thusly:

Food- Coffee was bright and a bit acidic. Cappuccino was great. Both plates looked beautiful. The Wolfundito had requested scrambled eggs on top. The dish was delicious- and adventure of some surprising tastes. The Panisse Benedict presentation was also very attractive. It had sauteed arugula and pickled onion slices, and a rather sweet but interesting Hollandaise over poached eggs on a grilled bean cake. The tavern potatoes were... Mediocre smashed potatoes with many burnt crumbles. So disappointed that the poached eggs were overcooked with hard yolk and dishes were served lukewarm.

Service- our server was accommodating and pleasant. She offered to have the Panisse redone but time was tight. I'm not sure if they were understaffed on a Friday brunch but it didn't seem that way. Perhaps dishes sat at the station too long so they were cold.

Atmosphere- The decor was pleasing with vintage lighting with some industrial overtones. Music was a questionable genre, very loud and therefore, conversation was difficult.

Overall, it was not outstanding. I was looking forward to having poached Three Brothers eggs but they were simultaneously overcooked and cold. We will pass from now on.

Ate here once and attemtpted to go back 4 times (all 4 unsuccessful with 1 1/2 hour to 2 hour waits). Giving a two as they can't seem to provide proper table turnover service and have extremely long wait times for brunch. Food is good but not worth your time for absurdly long wait times.

Atmosphere was trendy and cool. Servers were nice and accommodating for dietary restrictions. We waited a very long time for food, and it was toward the end of service, so it was unclear why. Food was very good. Spamelette was really unique and flavorful. My stomach was upset for a couple hours after eating though, perhaps from the richness. But my friend was also quite sick after she ate a dish they prepared dairy free, gluten free.

The aesthetic here is breathtaking. The calm colors and design create the perfect, cozy atmosphere. The food is delicious. We got the ham sandwich. It could have had a little more ham on it, but it was delicious. The potatoes were perfectly crunchy. The yogurt parfait is a show stopper. I'm not a yogurt person, and this made me one. Service was good. It could have been slightly more attentive. We brought a toddler, and he was welcomed. Overall, I would love to come here again

I tried this place years ago and was disappointed. I tried again January 2025 and it was worst. We got the Benedict and Wolfundido. Both were bad. Probably the worst food we had in over a year. I got a Bloody Mary for 14$ and it was okay & it came with a high life chaser. Service is okay and the place is cute.

Wolfundido is the thing to order for breakfast. Sweet potatoes, chorizo, grilled peppers, avocado, and easy egg. Had it twice. Excellent and different both times. Wolfie himself told me to order it the first time I visited. He told me to add pulled ham to it. Didn't see pulled ham as an add-on anymore, but it was delicious anyway.

Even though I was born and raised in Milwaukee, I've never been to a breakfast tavern before. What a brilliant idea. Can't say enough good things about the food and drinks. Everything was delicious, especially the Wolfundido. Portions are big and on the heavy side, but that seems fitting given the concept to either prevent or recover from a hangover. Walking in, you're welcomed like an old, treasured friend. Staff are attentive and so helpful with choosing among so many tempting options on the menu. Wolfie is a hilarious and generous host. The only downside is that given the small space, many have to either wait for a table or opt to dine elsewhere. Will definitely be back many times. Can't wait to try the Dinner Diner. And the Nite Wolf Ramen, too!

The restaurant is tiny, maybe tables for 20 people and the bar seats maybe another 15. We arrived at 11:00am and didn’t get seated until 12:45pm. I ordered the Big Wolf breakfast for $20, two eggs over easy, tavern potatoes, sausage and toast. Pretty expensive breakfast and everything except the sausage was room temperature at best. And my eggs were nearly hard, not over easy. This place was so not worth the wait or the price. My five sisters and I will never go back. The only positive thing I can say is that the restaurant across the street, Avli, was a great place to wait for nearly two hours. Total thumbs down on Uncle Wolfie!

We had brunch at Uncle Wolfie's and thought the coffee and food were good. Their portions are very large, and the food is on the heavier side. I had the Brown Butter Miso Latte which was very, very good--highly recommen. I tried the Brown Butter & Ube latte which is also a good option. We shared Wolfie's Breakfast Poutine, a solid starter split between 4 people. I had the Wolfundido for my main dish. It was good, but I want to return and try one of their breakfast burritos. Overall, good brunch spot, but they do not take reservations.

This is a unique breakfast place full of hard-working pierced and tattooed counterculture folks all trying to serve up a unique breakfast experience. If you don't see time as a linear process, and three hours to eat breakfast is what you are looking for, this may be an ok place for you. It all kind of works, and kind of doesn't. The folks here are jammed into a tight small space with poor outside signage, and they do try and make everyone happy. The manager and servers are fine helpful people and they really hustle. The menu is unique and different. Some of it works, some of it really doesn't. The soy sauce infused spam omelette is good, the eggs benedict with the pulled pork is awful. The purple oatmeal with the toasted crunch squares is a delight, (though it might be too sweet for some of you sugar Nazi's), and the small round potatoes with skins on, are not - they sorely need some decent shredded hash browns. Overloaded breakfast places sometimes turn up the temps on everything to get the food out faster, and it shows here. In general, everything seemed overcooked. Just about everything was overcooked too long or at too high a temp and was too dark in color - the english muffins, the potatoes and other dishes were all on the edge of looking burnt. The wait is LONG. Like, really long. We arrived at 11:40 am on a Saturday morning, and our food arrived at our table at 1:45 pm in the afternoon. The place was masterful though in trying to accommodate the wait. There are special tables you can sit at outside that are just for people who are waiting for tables (yes, you read that right), and while you are sitting there, you can place drink orders for very tasty drinks to get a buzz on while you're waiting an hour or two for your table. The drinks were well made and thoughtful, and they do a killer bloody mary. All in all they do try hard, but they need a bigger kitchen here with more cooks. The footprint of this place of what used to clearly be a corner bar or drug store, isn't suitable to turn tables quickly for a breakfast place, and the weekend surge breakfast crowd of Brewers Hill hipsters just simply hang out there too long and crush the place. Be responsible though people and don't show up on super busy surge weekends with 8,12 or 16 people in your group and destroy the entire queue behind you.

I had the Triple Threat ramen, and the chashu pork was tender, and I added an ajitima egg along with chili crisps for an extra kick. Of course I ended up adding all of the chili crips to the bowl, and also really loved the thin noodles situation. For dessert, we had this ube ice cream with some strawberry compote and toasted coconut meringue. What an incredibly flavorful dessert, a top 10 contender for 2024.
