We had heard so many great things about UnionHouse but unfortunately the meal came out cold and the bartender was quite rude. Would never repeat.

Overall, I'd say this place was okay. The food was pretty good. Only the corn wowed me. My one complaint is that NA drinks weren't included in happy hour.

When we moved to Cedarburg, we were excited to try all the restaurants in the area. When we first tried Union House, we felt the food was mediocre, but wanted to give it another shot. This time we sat outside and ordered a variety of tapas (about 7-9) which came out in a timely manner. Out of all the tapas we tried, we liked the yellowfin tuna the best. The drinks were good and we thought maybe Union House redeemed itself. That was until we kindly asked our server Alex to move inside while we finish our dessert and drinks due the mosquitos eating us up. It was a slow night and there were plenty of tables open both inside and outside, so I didn't think it would be a problem. I even told Alex we would be happy to pay our bill in that moment, so she wouldn't have to attend to us inside. She immediately looked SO annoyed that we asked and just said "yeah I guess" in a very rude manner. As we followed her inside, she put us at a table and then quickly turned and walked away obviously upset. I had no idea what the problem was and was confused by her nasty attitude. My husband who is extremely laid back asked me "what is her problem?" We just sat there wondering why she was so annoyed by a simple request. Then the hostess (didn't catch her name) came over and asked us why were were sitting there in a dismissive way too. I explained to her that Alex sat us there and we were just finishing our dessert. The whole experience rubbed us the wrong way and we will definitely not be back. I've been in the service industry for 20 years and would never treat customers like that, especially when they are kind and just asking for a simple request. To be honest, the only nice person we encountered was the teenage boy who ran the food to our table and cleaned up the dishes from the table. Very sweet and kind! Maybe you should put him in front of customers more and less of Alex. When people dine out, it's not only about the quality of food that determines if they'll be back or not. It's about the whole experience and I highly recommend that you train your servers and hosts to be kind and friendly to guests, otherwise they shouldn't be in front of them at all.

Came in for dinner with a few girlfriends and it was fantastic! Our server was super kind and attentive. Everything came out looking great and tasting great, with the blue cheese steak and the yellowfin tuna being our favorites! The cocktails are quite unique but SO good! I will definitely be coming back!

We wanted to love it but ended up with a to be determined. Passing through an intimate setup of a small dining area, we arrived at our table on a remodeled outdoor deck. Our group accepted the unlimited tapas challenge as a great way to sample the menu. Hits: Yellowfin Tuna [perfect sear, A+aioli], Pork Str Taco [big portion] Bang Bang Salmon [so good we got a 2nd] Shishito Peppers [looked and tasted great]. Drinks: all winners. Misses: Patatas Bravas [nothing special] Brussel Sprouts [ didn't recall them until looked back at photo] Turkey meatballs [super dense light flavor]. Service. Let's expand on this point, I'm very familiar with the tapas concept. However, it's not an invitation to have lightly skilled (I'll go as far as to say, not properly trained) servers that add nothing to experience when you try to offer an elevated pricing and atmosphere. Major letdown, we were offered little to no insight into the menu. In fact, we were correcting our server on some of the components in the dishes. Prime example was he didn't know the types of cheese on the board 101 stuff. Dropping a utensil on someone in our party and presenting us a desert we didn't order, which we had to awkwardly decline, didn't meet the basic bar of competence. Will probably give it another shot, but sit at the bar, order the memorable drinks and tapas, and avoid the drama going on around inexperienced staff.

Terrible meal. Shrimp salad had no shrimp and little avocado in it. Flank steak was cold. Orzo salad was inedible -- all orzo, little else. We are used to tapas service, but uneven delivery does not begin to describe how the food was brought out. Save your money. This place is terrible.

I never usually make reviews, but I expected a lot since the public reviews were great. Ultimately it was quite a sloppy performance food-wise. To start, the brussel sprouts were supposed to be hot, came out cold, you can tell when you put cheese on top and it doesn't melt. I didn't want to say anything just to see if it was a reoccurring thing with their kitchen. Then true enough, we started to realize a pattern in which none of the plates were ever heated up, thus causing them to be served to the table already lukewarm/cold. The drinks were a saving grace, we thought the steak crostini and tuna was probably their only stand out dishes, and the service was actually superb. Their wait staff were great, host staff were very accomodating to help us get better seating. Atmosphere wise, I understand that sometimes a different and fun theme is nice, but a Tiki theme for Valentine's day was a bit poor. No offense but could have made it a bit more of a romantic setting for just the day. I do want places like this to succeed, because their ideas are unique, I just hope that they can do better. But for now, it's not one we would want to visit in awhile.
Thanks for the considerations.

Update: A must stop during Christmas! The decorations are outstanding!! Highly recommend making a reservation.
Cool place and atmosphere! I wouldn't say the food is outstanding, but I really like the concept of small plates where you can get the opportunity to try a lot of things. Our favorite was the chicken sliders.

We LOVE Union House! Bartender Maddie is an absolute gem 💎!! She is so personable and goes above and beyond. Family owned business…we’ve met them all. Hard workers and true testimonies of how great our country and state of Wisconsin is! They offer tapas so we always order several plates and everything we order is always 5+ starts!!! From the moment you step foot in the door, to the moment you leave…the experience is amazing. Can’t say enough!! You’ll just have to give them a try yourself!

We visited last night for our anniversary and enjoyed a cozy evening with a selection of four tapas and four cocktails between the two of us. The atmosphere was welcoming, and we could tell thought had gone into the flavor combinations and presentation of each dish. Every tapa was flavorful and fresh, showcasing great ingredients and creativity in portioned bites ideal for sharing.
However, the portion sizes left a bit to be desired. Given the cost, we expected to feel a bit more satisfied by the end of the meal, but we left still a bit hungry. The cocktails, while delicious, also didn’t quite fill up the glass, which was a little disappointing.
Overall, we had a good experience, with quality food and drinks, though we'd recommend it more as a spot for light bites or a social evening rather than a full dinner. If you go, consider ordering a bit more to avoid the lingering appetite

We are local and were excited to try Union House for the first time. We were very disappointed in our visit. I had made a reservation for 7:00pm, and the restaurant was decently busy. As soon as we sat down, our waitress let us know that once we ordered, it would be at least an hour before ANY food would be brought out because the kitchen was backed up. I appreciated her letting us know that right away. However, as the night went on, she kept on alerting us that more and more items were out, a lot of which included the proteins. We ordered 3 items, to which she suggested would be enough for the two of us, and we left hungry and had to stop somewhere else for food on the way home. The pesto steak bites were so tough I could hardly bite through them. If you recommend reservations for your restaurant, I would think that you would have a better idea of how much food to order so you aren't running out of half of your menu. Very disappointed with our experience.

Union House is a really cool bar and eatery. They have small plates with a lot of good unique offerings. Good for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. In the summer they have great patio seating and live music on some weekends. Wait service is really friendly.

Union House in Cedarburg offers a unique dining experience with its tapas-style menu. The restaurant itself has an inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual night out.
We sampled a variety of dishes, including the Salami & Manchego, Arugula Salad, Burrata Salad, Pesto Steak Crostini, and Shishito Peppers. Each plate was well-presented and offered a burst of flavor. My personal favorite was the Pesto Steak Crostini. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the pesto added a vibrant touch. However, the crostini itself was a bit harder than expected, making it a little tricky to eat as a traditional bruschetta. A fork quickly solved the issue, though!
What we loved:
Tapas style: Perfect for sharing and trying a variety of dishes.
Flavorful food: Each dish was well-seasoned and delicious.
Suggestions:
While we enjoyed our meal, it would be helpful to have more information on portion sizes on the menu, especially for those unfamiliar with tapas-style dining.
Overall, Union House is a great spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks in a relaxed setting. If you are around this little town, check it out!

Super fun place to eat and drink. For those who like spicey- get the dirty martini with the pepper stuffed olives. The menu is packed with a good variety of tapa-style plates. Each was better than the next. Overall the experience was quite good. Because of the way the food is fired, we saw the runners much more often than the waitress, so we probably would have had a few more drinks or requested resets for our plates/silverware had we had the opportunity to - but it didn't really impact the experience. Definitely check it out on date night or for a nice change to a standard dinner.

What a disappointment. We’ve been to this restaurant three times now and each time it’s gotten progressively worse. We ordered four tapas and were still waiting for the fourth dish 1 hour and 45 minutes after we sat down. Then the waitress finally agreed to ‘comp’ us the dish we never got so we could leave. The dishes we did get were pretty sad - baked goat cheese? Hard to even find the goat cheese on top of a pan of tomato sauce. Sad. She said they had a big party in the back room taking up all their time. Why take our reservation if you couldn’t maintain some standard of service. We won’t go back.

We waited 45 minutes for a drink and over an hour for food. I don’t mind waiting if they are short staffed but that should be communicated when you check in. We also sat at the bar and the bartender said she wasn’t going to serve a drink since our table would be ready soon. Can’t say I’ve ever experienced that before.

Came here tonight with my family to celebrate my birthday.
First off I will start by saying my reservation was made for 5 and we had a last minute add on and put a 6th so I realize that wasn’t ideal and I’ll own that. The table we had was definitely a 4 seater that they were squeezing us into with 5 then with 6 it was not ideal (which I’ll take responsibility for since again we made our reso for 5.)
The food was great! The drinks were also great!
The server was not great but management reached out to apologize which meant a lot I’m sure it was a one off situation

We had a wonderful time. It will be an easy referral to family and friends. Excellent food, terrific service, fun casual atmosphere....all 4 of us loved it!
Each year a family tradition for the holiday season is a night out together. Dinner and a show. We had tickets to the Cedarburg PAC, but this year due to a busy schedule we opted to do dinner after the show instead. None of us had been to the Union House and the menu was intriguing. We were not disappointed, but all very happy for our choice. Very nice!

The Union House is more than just “really good food”…the whole experience was AMAZING!! My mom and I were in Cedarburg for a girls weekend and went here for dinner. We made reservations and sat at the bar until our table was ready. Highly recommend doing that bc it was so fun getting a couple drinks and chatting with bartender. Restaurant is family owned…the daughter, Maddy and her father were behind the bar. They were soooo friendly! Drinks were absolutely delicious! When we got to our table, our waitress was also super kind. Service was A++. Tapas came out in a timely manner and were absolutely fantastic. When we finished our dinner, the son Chris came out with two Prosecco’s (on the house ☺️) for us and talked with us for a while. He was so sweet. Everyone just made us feel like part of the family. You know you had a good experience, when you can’t stop thinking about it. We can’t wait to be back and will definitely be telling all of our friends about the amazing experience we had at the Union House!!!
Thank you Maddy, Chris, and family!! ❤️

The food was mediocre. It wasn't terrible but it also wasn't great. They say they're a tapas place but they had sliders on the tapas menu. That doesn't really seem like a tapas to me. The food come out late and some of it was forgotten about. We had to ask the waiter on several occasions about where some of our food was. I don't think I'd go there again. There are better places in the area

We came here because The Norbert in West Bend is currently closed. There is no comparing these two establishments other than they both offer tapas. I get it, small plates, but the servings here are tiny! 3 dishes at The Norbert and my husband and I are satisfied. Here, we were left walking away starving.
The Coke is not Coke or Pepsi, some off brand terrible cola.
The bruschetta needed way more basil for added flavor. Can we ask the chef to not crisp the bread to oblivion?
Both the bruschetta and the streak crostini were so crunchy it scrapes your mouth. I would rather chew on a jawbreaker. We also had the garlic shrimp which took zero effort on their part to make or even attempt to plate nicely. Here’s your bowl of butter with shrimp floating in it. Cool.
We sat outside near their small deck and it smelled really musty. Im guessing moisture trapped under there, not sure but it was definitely not enjoyable to eat near.
Server was nice but had a habit of saying “Awesome, awesome” after each interaction which was “awkward, awkward”
Having him hold the tablet while I processed the payment/tip was super annoying. Hand it over and pls don’t stand there awkwardly.
Won’t be back.

I feel that I'm being generous giving it 4 stars.
Unfortunately, this is one of those places that now requires a credit card to get a reservation. I can understand this if it's a busy place and there's risk of turning away a paying customer because you're holding a table for someone who never arrives. However threatening to charge $10 per person seems a little much, and the restaurant was next to empty when we arrived.
I only tried one cocktail, their signature Manhattan. Despite asking for it up, they served it on the rocks. Mistakes happen, and they took it back and replaced it without a fuss, so I don't mind that. However I suspect they just strained it into the new glass for me because it tasted rather watered down. They had several other interesting sounding drinks on the menu that I would have explored but did not have the opportunity that night.
The burrata and the pesto steak crostini were the stand outs of the meal. The burrata tasted fresh, and the hot honey and herbs complemented it nicely. Would have been nice if it had come with about twice as much bread though. The pesto steak crostini was the best tasting thing we had. The chicken sliders, and bruschetta were also really good.
The burger sliders had good flavor, but the meat was overcooked and tough. The bourbon meatballs were a bit of a disappointment. The flavor was just ok, but the meat was again overcooked and tough. The garlic shrimp was a huge let down. Once again, overcooked and tough, and despite having visible pieces of garlic, had very little garlic flavor. So I suspect they are either using pre-minced garlic from a jar, or if they are using fresh garlic they chopped it up way to far in advance and it lost all it's flavor.
In no way was this meal bad or unpalatable. It was in the mediocre to good range. And the price was high, but not unexpected. But when I try to hold the meal up to the standard I give that price point, I'm disappointed. I wouldn't object to returning, but since I'm not a local I doubt I'll be back any time soon.

Imagine, taking your parents and family out for your Mothers 77th birthday? ( party of 6 adults and one toddler. No booster chair’s available)
We were sat at a great table, service was a bit slow but, the place was packed. Waited 15 for our first round of endless mimosas. Food came on Charcuterie boards with limited food. ( i know cost are high) 5 small pancakes, 4 pieces of bacon, maybe 3 eggs a couple sausages patties and some fruit to fill in the blank spots. Food was tasteful, we decided to order more boards that were offered.
Endless mimosas, however were not endless, we were cut off, we arrived at 12:30 and were cut off at 1:45. Endless mimosas means endless, not cut off 1.25 hours into meal. Apparently the menu states 2 hours of bottomless mimosas—-so we were robbed of 45 minutes They “ran out” of blood mary mix, so that was no longer a choice. We were told we could purchase more mimosas after our bill of $170 was paid. So, to be crystal clear, endless mimosas doesn’t mean endless, it means you are limited. Not because of mimosas, but on an average we will not be returning to this establishment. More than dissatisfied and no birthday treats for my mother. They offered her a free over cooked chocolate chip cookie on the house . ( eye roll ) we would have been more than happy to pay for a treat, but nothing was available. Overall, not worth it, on every level!!!!!

I love this place so much! The cocktails are absolutely unmatched and the snacks are DELISH... but really what makes this place shine is the ambiance and the staff. You feel like a regular even if it’s your first time there. At Union House, you really get the big city feel in quaint little Cedarburg. Be sure to follow them on social media so you can get a sneak peak of their events and such! 10/10 for me!

Phonemonial craft cocktails and Delicious food. The ambiance and service is great for this cozy modern cocktail lounge. Definately going back. Vodka polka dot drink with a magic sparkle was very tasty.
