The lack of communication with customers is shocking. The DGAF attitude echoed in every One star review for this winery repeatedly speaks to this. Six emails to the marketing department (we CC' Kat) have gone unanswered and issues are unaddressed. Just not a professional way to do business.

Great Italian style food: pasta, pizza. The place looks like a Tuscan piazza, very nicely done. One of the main attractions is the tasting room where you can check their locally produced wine. The Marquette Reserve was very nice.

Just beautiful! Drove down from the cities for a Saturday afternoon and we're already planning on coming back with friends!

As you approach from the river road you see the vineyards and the buildings from the distance, you pull into their spacious parking lot and walk down a path through the trees until you come to the villa's courtyard. We had a drink, did their tasting menu, and some more drinks and a snack in absolutely beautiful surroundings. You really feel like you're in Europe!

Well worth the drive for what we think is the best wine we've tried from MN or WI! Can't wait to be back again!

We drove up on a beautiful Saturday and tried wine tasting and pizza outside. The customer service was truly the best part of the whole experience. It felt like family taking care of it all. A great place to relax and enjoy an afternoon.

I've visited Villa Bellezza a couple of times now. I enjoy the wine tastings. They have a diverse selection of high quality wines, they even recently released two Port wines. Be warned, most of the wines are very sweet. There are a couple more dry options.

The food is comically bad. Our pizzas looked like a kindergartner made them. The pizza dough is not fresh and ours was burnt on the edges and hardly done in the middle. We had a cheese tray that was equally mediocre. They could use a huge step up in the food area, or consider significantly decreasing their prices on what is a very cheap and sub par culinary experience.

In response to Lisa's review about my wedding party that had come in to the restaurant & restaurant itself:

I as the bride had called the resteaunt over a month prior to see if they would be able to accommodate a party of 30 and at a specified time. I was told by Jill they do not take reservations but it would be no problem and we could sit outside on the patio with tables pushed together or we could have it inside but not all my guests would be seated near each other. I chose the outdoor option as I wanted my guests seated near each other. I called one week prior to double check that things were still going to be fine with my dinner party and my phone call was not returned until 3 days prior to the event. Jill stated during the call that they werent sure if they would be able to accommodate our party now due to staffing and seating would come as first come first serve even though i called one month prior. On the day of the event some of my family showed up to the restaurant early to get seating and possibly discuss seating inside. They were told by the manager they didn't have the staffing to seat us inside and we're not allowed to wait inside for our party that they must wait in their cars despite it being less than 60º outside with a baby. When myself and my husband arrived after our wedding we were told there was a wedding and a dinner reception taking place that night and they could not accommodate us inside and we must sit outside. Im not sure how sitting outside vs inside resolves the staffing issues they claimed to have. We were also never told or offered heaters to be place on the patio. Either way im glad I did not have my wedding dinner here based off the food reviews. Not to mention the staff that claim they were accommodating were not. When asking for a manager due to lots of miscommunication I was given attitude before being told they were the manager. They did not try to rectify the situation by any means and basically said 🤷🏽‍♀️. I guess expecting seating when you're told you'll get it is asking too much. Staff we spoke with and my family spoke with were very snooty. I was warned about this prior to choosing this restaurant but chose to give them the benefit of the doubt. Won't be returning ever.

Villa Bellezza is a beautiful winery, and the staff we’re very accommodating. We went for a visit yesterday. It was a chilly September day so we decided to eat inside. We ordered our food at the counter and went inside. We were brought our food which by the way was delicious. As we were eating, some people came in and said they had a large party of over 30 people and they wanted to start moving tables together inside. I could clearly see there wasn’t enough room to accommodate them as there were other customers besides us. The staff tried to accommodate them by offering them spaces outside under their heaters. I heard one of the staff say they had talked to the group earlier in the week and would have outside space for them. The group was not having it as it was too cold. They were very rude to the staff who was trying to accommodate. I felt bad for the staff. They did a great job and tried their best. I would recommend coming here and enjoying the delicious pizza and the great atmosphere. They should not expect to walk in and have seating wherever they want. They were super rude to the staff, who was great. 5 out of 5 for food, service and grace.

Honestly, I would rate this establishment a big honking zero if I could. I had never been to this winery until today. Sure its beautiful from the outside. I was looking forward to trying the food at this winery for my Brother and Sister in laws wedding dinner celebration, was being the key word here. Upon arrival we were told that they could not accommodate our party after my sister in law called at least a month prior to make reservations. She was told they could accommodate our party, no problem. Fast forward to today, we were told that they did not accept reservations, so whomever my sister in law talked to over a month prior was wrong, I'm assuming? What member of your staff royally messed that one up? Instead of trying to make it right like a business of integrity should, they simply turned us away, and said that we could not take up their indoor seating area. Why is that? All of us would have been paying customers, were we not? You lost a lot of business today, guaranteed I will be telling everyone I know about our experience, and I absolutely will never be returning to your establishment.
The Pickle Factory just down the way was more than happy to accommodate our party with extremely short notice, with only two waitresses on staff who were wonderful, and plenty of other patrons in their establishment. I'd recommend the Pickle Factory they were phenomenal!
It is the little things in life and I hope next time you choose to be better.

This is such a beautiful place. I was excited to try their pizza. I was expecting a crispy, thin & fluffy classic Italian pizza with wholesome tomato sauce. My pizza tasted like a school pizza or frozen pizza that was undercooked because the dough was still doughy and chewy. I don't believe it's worth $20. It was a bad experience for their pizza but the vibes were very pleasant.

I really wanted to like this winery; had researched it prior to our first and only trip to Pepin and was inspired by the great reviews. However, on the recent day we were there, it was hot and humid outdoors. There was a wedding party inside the tasting room, standing around blocking doorways and oblivious to others. The wine server was friendly enough however, didn't go out of her way to make us feel welcomed. We were directed to the small seating area inside the wine room, which was crowded and loud and outdoors on the patio, which is where we initially selected a table. However, we were quickly overcome by too many flies and returned to the small wine tasting room, where we were also bothered by flies. I understand it's summer in Wisconsin, however there are methods to control insects in businesses. The whole experience was just "ok". I had originally thought we would eat dinner there, but didn't see the restaurant area and the grounds looked okay, but I would have expected more flowers within the patio area. It was just kind of plain.

What a great setting and the buildings make you feel like you are in Italy. Excellent wines as well. I wish the pizzas were a little bigger, but otherwise we really enjoyed it. A play space/playground would be a nice addition to keep the kids busy. Will be back!

Very nice winery with good wines, and good food in the attached restaurant. We were there on a (somewhat rainy) Wednesday afternoon. There were a lot of people doing tastings and only one person to handle all the pouring and packaging and receipt of payments. She did great, but things were slow at times.

The attached restaurant has a beautiful plaza that makes it seem like you are in Italy! There is nice music playing and the food is good. They have gluten free pizza! I had the beet salad and it was delicious.

Beautiful place. Unfortunately, that is the only thing positive here. The food was disgusting. Pizza was the worst I've ever had from anywhere. You would expect locally sourced fresh ingredients. But sadly, it is most likely frozen, and the pizza dough is pre-made. I feel bad for the wood oven. Putting pre-made dough sheets that come in a vacuum pack plastic bag is downright disgraceful. The wine just didn't live up to the beauty of this place. A little on the sweet side. Way more winery up and down the beautiful bluff country to try. Just keep driving past this one.

I’ve been here about 3x in the last decade. It’s never been a destination, but somewhere to stop on a trip down the river.

The first visit was impactful and the pizza/flatbread was very good. The second time was after 2020 and their kitchen wasn’t operational because they couldn’t attract employees. They had a memo on their website or a sign on their door (I can’t remember which) that basically said people just didn’t want to work anymore💀, but I was excited to see that the kitchen was open when we were in that area again this weekend.

That excitement held for the long wait for food. It fell after I picked up my first slice of pizza that felt/tasted like it was on a pre-made crust with barely melted cheese and Luke warm toppings. It was not remotely close to being worth $19. We aren’t foodies by any means, but it was just underwhelming. My husband called it “actively bad”.

It takes a below average meal for me to say something to the staff (the only time I have indicated that my food was disappointing was when I was at a chain restaurant about 15 years ago). I would have commented on the drastic change in quality had an appropriate opportunity come up. Alas, due to the “order at a counter, pre-tip, and take a table number” nature of their service we just left half of the small pizza uneaten and left.

The wine is decent, the service is minimal but pleasant, and the atmosphere is unique. If you really want to come here, maybe eat beforehand.

10/10 We will be back! This place was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint! Friendly staff, delicious wines, beautiful grounds! We enjoyed a flight of wine each and between us we tried 7 wines. It was a hard choice but we settled on a glass of our favorite and strolled the grounds. We landed in the piazza for a snack that was a delicious sample of meat, cheese and bread with dips. The fun architecture took us back to our time in Italy. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing afternoon and making us feel welcome! Cheers!

Me now wife and I have had wonderful experiences here throughout our engagement and then leading up to our wedding day. We took our engagement photos at this beautiful winery, which gives off Italy vibes with its courtyard, vineyards, and beautiful architecture. Our photos turned out amazing in no small part to the beautiful buildings and grounds that the property has.

We also then had the honor of hosting our rehearsal dinner at Sal de Vino at the winery and we loved everything about it. The servers at the bar and for the food were kind and polite. The space was intimate and allowed both our families to mingle and celebrate. The food was phenomenal !! The lemon chicken pasta and the beef lasagna were huge hits, my grandpa, who doesn’t like anything new, said it was the best chicken he has ever had so that made us very happy to hear! The tiramisu was splendid, very light and tasty! We had some leftovers due to some people not being able to make it and thankfully, they allowed us to take the leftovers and they even boxed everything up for us which was nice of them! We had our videography team there so we did some more shots around the property and can’t wait to see how those turn out! Only thing we wish we had was a microphone and speaker system for the speeches but we made due without them. Overall, we enjoyed it so much we decided to go back on the Sunday after our wedding to do some wine tastings, buy some memorabilia, and get some souvenir bottles of wine to remember the weekend. Whether you are looking for a place to do a rehearsal dinner, get married at, or simply want a cool and unique experience while in the area, look no further!

Zero starts should be an option. The food is absolutely disgusting. *See pictures below

We were so excited to try the food and wine at Villa Bellezza Winery & Vineyards. The wine tasted like vinegar and I didn’t finish my glass. All 3 of my friends tried it and found it equally disgusting.

As for the food, the chef’s nonna would be horrified. The chicken on the pizza was thrown on after the cheese was melted. Plus the chicken was cold! The pesto chicken sandwich and salad came out way before anyone else’s food and was less than memorable. The pasta dish I had could have been better if it was a frozen meal from a box. One of my friends has food allergies and couldn’t eat because everything had cheese or nuts already mixed in. Everything was made ahead of time and they could NOT accommodate. She was not able to eat.

Olive Garden would have been a better choice 🤮

Day of “service”, October 6, 2024, we elected to sit outside and had to order at the register. It looks like an upscale restaurant but it’s not. Is a gorgeous establishment, but the food and wine is a disgrace to Italian cuisine.

Lovely atmosphere. Good pizza and good wine for Minnesota. They were a little staunch in their position of limited service, like bringing us a pizza we intended to share and then telling me where to go get plates when I asked for them (instead of getting the plates for us, which she easily could have done). That was off-putting. We were also given 4 crackers for a whole cheese plate, which seemed stingy and impractical. When we asked politely for more crackers, a server said she wasn't sure she was allowed to bring more and that she needed to check. She didn't come back to bring us crackers or tell us it wasn't possible till we finally flagged her down. She said that no, she wasn't allowed to bring more crackers (!!). I told her I really would have appreciated her coming back sooner to tell us. She gave us a pile of excuses, which wasn't helpful or comforting. This whole cracker experience left a very bad taste in our mouths about the whole winery visit.

Attended the pasta class. Participation was minimal, one small table with two pasta makers for 21 people. Sauces were already made and the other ingredients were already in the pan. Made tortellini but we were not told what the filling was. The Chef said the only two people who mixed the ingredients would know what they were and he was correct. The Recipes were the chefs from the Betty Crocker Italian Cookbook. Small plate of food when plenty of additional food was returned to the kitchen. Get there early for a good seat. The last couple that came didn't get to sit together. In the end we did learn how to knead and make pasta.

Let me begin by saying I sent an email to the address listed in several other negative reviews and I have yet to receive a response. I wanted to give them a chance to reply privately. After no response there I decided to post here.

We have been waiting for two and a half years to come here!
What a HUGE let down!!!
This was a destination day trip for my birthday.

First, we walked into the restaurant where we greeted by... absolutely no one to greet us, guide us, nothing.
Yes there was a sign, but that arrow was pointing to a wall. Several people from the kitchen area saw us standing there and yet not one person helped us. Not even the girl unpacking the wine in the walkway. This young lady was barely cordial with her information when she finally stoppedstockingwine and came over to help us. Rude to say the least!

Second, we both order a Panini which comes with a pasta salad.

A panini (/pəˈniːniː/; nowadays less commonly called panino, Italian: [pa'niːno])[1][2][3] is a sandwich made with Italian bread (such as ciabatta and michetta), usually served warm after grilling or toasting.

Our sandwich was just that, a sandwich! It was not made on the proper bread which was more like a baguette nor was it warm OR grilled!!!
The pasta salad was dry, no dressing of any sort on it. We had to use the olive oil from our appetizer in order to choke it down.
Our sandwich had 3 slices of turkey meat on it. I only know this because my husband had to open his up and add a sauce to it as it was so dry. Yes, sauce from our appetizer.
We each paid $14 for a sandwich that was completely wrong and dry and definitely not worth the price.

Third, let's talk about the rude young woman who delivered our food to us. This individual wouldn't speak to us when she delivered our sandwiches even after we said thank you to her. We shouldn't be too surprised seeing as how we were treated so poorly when she delivered our appetizer.

Fourth, being asked at the time of ordering to tip is beyond ridiculous! Who ever heard of that? We tipped to be treated horribly. If that isn't a kick in the pants.

Fifth, are all employees able to see what has been tipped? If so was this 18% tip the reason for poor service? We ordered the bread appetizer, two sandwiches, a Diet Coke, and a glass of wine. $60 including tip!
Not to shabby for two people for lunch.
We were happy to pay this as we had planned to do this earlier in the week.

We hadn't planned on being treated badly by staff, whom we tipped rem8nd you. Nor did we expect our food to be bad and inedible.

Go for the wine, not the food and definitely not the service!!!

Meh. Pizza wasn’t great, pretty dull crust, not crispy, toppings all canned, sauce not spicy at all. Salad was similar. “Demi-baguette” was a room temperature hunk of supermarket quality bread with premade dips in plastic tubs. If this was a cafeteria, it’d be just OK. For a place that charges $17 for a 12” pizza, I was expecting more. To be fair, we were there in off season, and it’s probably hard to keep quality up with so few customers. But I’m not coming back in the summer to find out. Head down the street to the Homemade Cafe for much better food and local character.

I've been wanting to try this place out for a while now. The building is huge! And they have tons of parking and ev chargers even!
You order your food at the window (outside because it was nice out) and they give you a number and bring your food to the table when it is ready.
There was seating inside and outside
There are heaters outside as well.
The bathroom was really clean. The staff is friendly. There is a wine tasting room that I didn't really explore much in.
I was really excited about the pizza but was sadly disappointed. Honestly I was kind of sad because I wanted to like this place a lot.
My pizza came out somewhat burnt. But there wasn't much flavor in either of them.
Overall the building is really cool and would be a really neat place for an event.

Absolutely beautiful property! I paid over $200 for horrible food! I paid for a tip yet the only "service" we received was having the food delivered to the table. Even the salad was wilted with brown slimy greens.

We were a group of 4 who came here for wine tasting and lunch. At 5 usd we got to pick 3 wines and their wine of the day also came included in addition to the 3 wines. We liked the tasting - quick, no frills but good selection. We went ahead and ordered a bottle along with our lunch in the patio. We got a tavalo red bottle, 2 pizza, one pasta and a cheese board. One small gripe was that most of their pasta choices weren’t available and they had no vegetarian pasta option available despite listing on their menu. The have plenty of EV chargers and offer EV charging for free which is incredible. Close to 15 EVs ( maybe more) can charge simultaneously.

Amazing atmosphere and beautiful buildings. Makes you really feel like you are somewhere else in the world. The food and the restaurant was just okay. For some reason they were "out" of a lot of the items on the menu. Even our initial alternative choices we were told they were out of also... The rigatoni was quite good but the lasagna was actually cool in the center, probably just reheated but not enough. Aside from the food, it was a real cool place to visit for the scenery and wines.

Granted it was a Monday night….. walked around the vegetable gardens…. Ripe produce hanging everywhere! Tomatoes! Red, green and purple peppers, herbs! Garlic…. And NONE of it was on our plates… we had white tortellini in white sauce torched under the broiler and plain lettuce salads…. What a waste of $70.00

The place is good looking. The tour was uninspiring. The food was delicious (I don't recommend the pizza), but expensive given the very small portions. Restaurant staff was okay, but not great. You need to find your own table, get your own silverware and napkins, yet it is expected that you leave a handsome tip.

A lot of the grapes are purchased rather than harvested in house, and some of the wine was good, but I wasn't impressed.

Staff and wine are great. The food though is terrible. Easily the worst pizza I've ever had. The crust was terrible. The cheese was mediocre and the toppings were sparse. It was also sitting in a puddle of grease. The meat and cheese board was terribly balanced with poor cheese choices though the meat was good. I'll be back for the wine but won't be getting any food.

Disappointed in experience, service, and food. No one to tell us what we can do or see around. We finally ordered food and got a pizza which dough is very similar to something you would buy at Walmart frozen. The cashier had a attitude that said she didn’t wanna be there. It was a hot day and we got a bottle of wine and werent given a bucket with ice for the wine. I went back and ordered one and i was given a bucket with no ice. I asked for ice and the cashier said it was cold. It was clearly gonna last 1 minute in 100 degree weather so I asked for ice and she finally grudgingly digressed. This establishment has zero knowledge of customer experience. Do not waste your time. A more authentic place would be Olive Garden.

Beautiful spaces! Had a nice lunch recently- we both ordered pizzas. The Mediterranean was better than the Chicken w/roasted garlic - and as another reviewer said I was surprised the crust was pre-baked since they use a brick oven. Still very good. Great service at both the restaurant and the wine tasting room. Came home with a lovely bottle of sparkling wine. I can imagine hosting an event here would be spectacular!

The event coordinator Jill was very difficult to work with and left us abandoned upon arrival this past Saturday with our wine club. I received minimal communication for a wine tasting and lunch for our wine club. She told me we would be setup at the SASU patio and a menu to be sent ahead of time, but nothing was ready. A lone server in the tasting room, Karen saved the day taking care of an overfilled tasting room. Because of the minimal responses from emails sent, I tried to contact Jill directly, but she would not return phone calls. Despite the lack of effort from the event coordinator we enjoyed the tasting and lunch we had in the piazza. I saw that Jill made it to the tasting room to see if the impromptu bachelorette party were doing okay, but never addressed our group. No welcome, no apology. This was the wrong memory for our group.

This was the first time at Bellezza Winery and I have to say it is absolutely beautiful! The grounds, buildings, tasting room, outdoor space all are the best I have visited! This is a true hidden gem in Wisconsin and worth the serve to come visit. The wines were very good and I would recommend doing a tasting so you are familiar with the wines as they are hard to decifer by just the names. The food was good, we tried the wood fired pizza and I enjoyed them, but I was expecting a more airy crust that you get from good homemade proofed dough that has structure, the edges where flat and hard, but still flavorful and enjoyed the fennel sausage. The bagit bread was wonderful and moreover what I expected and the cream cheese and honey spread was great. This winery did feel like your in a little Italy and will look forward to another visit.

We ordered the Marquette ‘20 and the St. Pepin ‘21. The Marquette ‘20 was a medium-body dry red wine. It had berry aromas and flavors with roasted hazelnut as well as being lightly oaked. The St. Pepin ‘21 was a medium body dry white wine. It had a bold nose of citrus and peach.

We were cruising down the Wisconsin side of the river, heading home to Minneapolis after a night stay in Osceola, Wisconsin, and around lunch time we spotted this place. Wow! what a find! It was a cold dreary day (this was the Saturday after that 80 degree Friday in mid-April) but there was a good crowd inside this modest-sized restaurant (which is attached to a winery). We opted for an artisan pizza (emphasis on the word "artisan" and meant as a huge compliment) and a glass each of their own wine.

Thee only pizza we have had that compares to the pizza here is at Pizzeria Lola in Minneapolis and, to be honest, it's a toss up which would hold the crown. Pizzas are cooked in a brick oven and you can taste the difference in the first bite! THIS is how pizza should taste. We got the "Spicy Italian" and every element of our pizza was spot on: crust, sauce, pepperoni, you name it! My white wine was superb and my wife's red (Rosso d'Amici) was so good we got a bottle to go.

Props to the main server (didn't get her name). Service was fast and professional, despite that during the hour we were there, two large (8+) parties of people arrived who had been next door at a wine tasting event. How our server kept her wits about her showed amazing professionalism. In fact, after leaving her a 20% tip on my credit card, I went back as we were leaving and gave her another $5, telling her she deserved it!

In all honesty, the food here is so good (they also serve other Italian dishes, i.e. pastas), that it's worth the trip from the Cities, IMO. I imagine that in nice weather (It looks like there is an outdoor patio) this place gets packed! Also, it hosts events and weddings as well. If you are craving a delicious brick-oven pizza, drive down either side of the river and hit this place up.

Special note: The architectural design of the buildings are right out of Tuscany. Just gorgeous!

Beautiful place. Wines were nice. Pizza was a disappointment. I ordered the chicken pizza. I asked to not have the onions and peppers on it. They brought my pizza with tomatoes on it instead, which I did not ask for. The chef made the decision to add the tomatoes without asking if I wanted them on my pizza. They did make a new pizza for me which was delicious.

The venue is beautiful. I enjoy the wines. So, I think it's a really cool place and have been there 3 times so far. My only downgrade is for the pizza. I think they should knock this out of the park being an Italian inspired place. While the taste is fine...the pizza's are rather smallish (they're advertised as 11") and less than authentic (for me). My mother being from Italy, and having been to a fair share of wood fired pizza places, I have an opinion. So Il Forno has these pizza's for around $17. I say charge $22-24 and serve something amazing...more authentic like is shown in the pic attached (14"). Then I'd give 5 stars all day.

This is a really nice winery with a lot of really good wines, a huge selection compared to most wineries around here. The atmosphere in the outdoor piazza is a lot like a real Italian piazza. The tasting room is a typical set up and tends to be really busy, at least every time I’ve stopped in. The restaurant serving Italian food is excellent. Recently additional outdoor space has been added but it wasn’t in use when I was there. Parking can be challenging when there is a wedding on site, although there are a lot of parking spots.

Villa Bellezza is a perfect example of a beautiful, unique and wonderful spot to check out in Western Wisconsin. I'd heard about it for a while and finally made my way there - and so glad I did. The buildings and grounds are immaculate. They almost transport you from Wisconsin. The wine was perfectly flavorful and delicious. I ordered the garlic chicken pizza; and although I loved it, I have a feeling any food you order from here would be amazing. If we were rating based on the wine and wine tasting experience, it would be a 5+. We had an absolutely wonderful experience—and found wines we really enjoyed. The sommelier was friendly, and even when the space was busy, she still gave us attention and answered questions without a hint of feeling overwhelmed.

Our host and waiter in the restaurant were so friendly and helpful. But the food was lackluster. It was fine. But from our experience at other restaurants—specifically Italian and brick oven places—the food did not hold up. Specifically it was under flavored, and the pizza crust was underwhelming.

We had an overall great experience and the space was beautiful!

Back in 2012, my husband and I visited Villa Bellezza while on vacation for our 10th wedding anniversary. We tried some wines and wanted to choose a special bottle to save for our 20th anniversary. The helpful staff suggested a bottle and we took it home to live in our wine rack for the next decade. Today, we pulled that bottle out to share for our 20th year together. (We made it!) The wine we chose back in 2012 was Banco 2011 Red Wine. It was worth the 10 year wait! The sweet grape is very forward, but as the wine sits on the tongue, the roasty oak comes through. There's something that lingers after swallowing...tannins, coffee? I'm no wine expert by any stretch, but I know when my taste buds are thrilled, and they were! This is an excellent, full-bodied wine, and it has aged well. 🍷😉
