I recently went there leading a women's tour group and the experience was wonderful. We had the coffee cakes to start with and they were excellent. The chicken salad was awesome. A nice, warm welcome from the owner/manager. Very interesting and colorful interior decor. Get there early, busy and crowded by 10 am and really busy on weekends. Unfortunately, the food is quite mediocre... Reasonable price and portions... But while I enjoyed my French toast, the rest of the family didn't think much of their food.

We had our dogs with us so we didn’t go inside, but the back patio was breezy, shaded, and lovely. We had EXCELLENT service and many of the friendly staff came to say hello to our dogs. They brought water out to the dogs quickly. Our food was delicious and we were very happy with our visit. This was the friendliest restaurant, both to us and to our dogs, that we visited during our 5 day stay in Door County, and we almost didn’t stop because we didn’t immediately see the outdoor seating area. Very glad we did!

My husband and I had breakfast. I ordered the meat lovers potato bowl which had quarter inch of grease covering the bottom of the bowl and it made the entire meal inedible. My bill was comped for half the price of the meal which I guess was nice but considering I couldn’t eat it I was a bit taken back I had to pay for any of it at all. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy which he said was alright, but shortly after we left it wasn’t long before he had to find a bathroom and our day trip around Door County consisted of staying near restrooms. Our waiter was very kind and attentive, the restaurant was clean but the meals were overpriced and unfortunately we wouldn’t recommend it and won’t be back.

It was a pleasant experience, the space was welcoming creating the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee. My only issue as a pancake snob, was the texture of the pancakes served. They were thin and had a carpe feel to them, not horrible, just not my thing. I would definitely visit again in the near future.

We went here on a Sunday with our 3 young children, so I was willing to go elsewhere if the wait was long. We were told 5-10 mins so decided to stay. Overall pretty decent breakfast restaurant. I had the Egg Harbor Special, 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, and 2 bacon. It was decent as breakfast goes and well made, but it took a long time to arrive. The soup was chicken noodle, and had an off flavor. We did not eat it. It took 30 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering.

We are here recently and go there every time we are in Door County. Disappointed this time. I ordered the Avocado Toast which is supposed to come with poached eggs. I received mine with scrambled eggs that was cold. I over heard the server tell the table next to us if you order the Avocado Toast if you want poached eggs there is an upcharge otherwise you will get scrambled. I was not told this and considering the meal is fourteen dollars would expect there to be an upcharge. My husband's omelette was cold as well. Years ago I stopped getting their oatmeal as it would come cold. In response to the owner, yes I am very aware of egg prices. This would not have been an issue if we were told about the upcharge. We eat out often and this is the first time that there would have been an upcharge. This is also not the first time our food was cold. Have been at your restaurant many, many times and unfortunately won't be back.

As I started to write this review I noticed the high rating this cafe got. This is not the same village cafe I visited in the past. Multiple customers were upset. At 12:30 they were out of all soup and salads. Out of frustration we ordered a muffin as our lunch. Our waiter didn’t seem to care or offer options. Matter of fact we never saw him again. Not much about this restaurant stood out. The food was mediocre, the service was pretty bad - 2 stars is generous for that - and the atmosphere was nothing special. The waiter took several tries to successfully take our order, asking my wife and I to repeat several things despite us pointing to the item on the menu. When he brought our food out, which took an exceedingly long amount of time despite the small number of people eating there, my wife's dish was completely incorrect. Not just a special request that they got wrong, but the wrong dish entirely. They did swap it out, but that involved more waiting. They also forgot to bring out water until we asked a couple of times. We won't be going back.

Ordered the avocado toast which was good except they really overloaded it with onions. It gave it an overpowering onion taste. My fruit bowl had four completely rotten grapes in it. I had to take them out with a napkin they were so bad. The onions weren't a very big deal because I could pick them off, but the grapes I felt like someone had to have seen them. That's why I gave the food a four. I do really think this is a good restaurant though. I think my meal was just "off" that day, and if I lived closer I'd try it again. You don't have a packed restaurant like that if the food's not good. But I always try to give an honest review.

Came here twice. The first time they forgot about us and left us standing outside in the cold for 20 minutes, but the food and service were pretty good. The second time we got right in, but the service (coffee refills and such) were sluggish and food was disappointing. Omelette was undercooked, bacon was overcooked, French toast was basically just a couple of pieces of bread sprinkled with cinnamon that arrived cold and didn’t seem to have been battered or anything. Potatoes were great. The decor is mid century American refrigerator magnet- tons of absolute junk for sale. That said, it’s probably one of the better touristy places for breakfast or brunch in an area that is known more for natural beauty than for restaurants.

We had the biscuit and gravy breakfast with a side order of breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were the best part, well seasoned and properly roasted (not under cooked). The biscuit was average (I've had lighter, fluffier). The eggs were supposed to be over easy but the yolk was fully cooked. The gravy was okay but underseasoned. The serving of fruit (various melons, grapes) that came with the meal had the texture of having been frozen once. Service was fine. The atmosphere was colorful although everything had a price tag on it. When I eat out I don't want a shopping trip. You would think that the prices on the food would be enough.

In ordering a dish with a list of its ingredients that are included in it, one assumes that all of the key ingredients will be indicated. Not here, The dish I ordered omitted 2 key ingredients in its construction, both of which were an issue. I left frustrated for wasting money and food, as well as remaining hungry.
The food may be okay for people who do not have dietary restrictions; otherwise, be sure to ask about ingredients used because the menu descriptions are incomplete.
Service is slow, the manager seems to constantly use a stern and critical voice with some of the staff, but our server was nice and was making effort
Ambiance is home-y with bright colors.

The food is excellent...I highly recommend the potato bowl. We ate here twice during our time in Door County. The first time the service was a little lacking, but I got the sense the waitress was pretty new. Both times the food was fantastic and the atmosphere is great.

Short changed and expensive to boot.
Waitress needs to learn how to give change! Was shorted a nominal amount, but when paying with cash would expect to receive at least exact change. Also in my opinion very expensive for what it was. French toast, quiche, side of breakfast potatoes and OJ & coffee ended up being $37. I don't see a reason to ever stop again.

In response to owner, no! I just adjusted my tip accordingly. Was just disappointed in portions and prices. That was the main reason for your less than "expected" 4 star review!
