Typical brew pub. Nice building. Average brewpub food. As is often the case, I find many brewpubs have mediocre beer. The maibock I had fell into that category. Didn't have much flavor and the color was off. No head; very flat. Disappointing. Our server was nice and gave pretty good service although I was surprised she didn't ask about my almost full beer when we asked for the check. Normally, I would expect a server to ask if there was something wrong with the beer since I didn't drink it. In general, I find better beers at tap rooms that feature best of breed beers from multiple brewers. One final comment: $1.50 for a tiny cup of ranch? Really???? It was a $49 tab (before tip) for the two of us for a burger and a fish sandwich and one beer each and you charge me $1.50 for ranch?! Petty.

Went here on a Sunday, host was semi friendly, she did grab the food quickly. We all got wraps to go. Everyone else got sidewinder fries, i got a side salad. Wraps were well packed and fresh. All of them tasted great! Fries were crispy and hot. My side house salad was fresh. The extra dressing we asked for was all accounted for. Parking was a little tricky but wasnt bad. We will be back!

Our server Tate Jennings was so incredible and skilled at his job. He was very charismatic and our food arrived right when he said it would. We got bottomless mimosas and he kept them flowing all day. I will definitely be coming back to Vintage East just to see Tate again

This place is truly trash. Beer was flat, food was cold and for whatever reason they can't serve you outside. You have to order and wait at the bar, then you can "take it outside yourself." I'm not sure where the positive reviews came from, but just don't bother.
Pro: Thank you to the bartender who halved the bill. That was kind of you.

Have been going to the different Vintage Brewing restaurants for the better part of the past decade but had not been to one in 6 months. So when my group of 6 went to the Capitol East Vintage after a Forward Madison Game, we were expecting a similar experience to the usual consistent quality. Flat out, it was incredibly disappointing.
For starters (literally), the Nachos have been hit hard by shrinkflation. Dish size has shrunk by at least half with no price change. $15 for a small plate is diabolical. The chips were not crisp. The presentation looked sad. Did not taste nearly as good as I remember. We shared feedback with the manager and were told it was too good of a value. Additionally, the order of chicken wontons only came with 5. They were pretty good but not everybody in our group of 6 got one.
The drinks were solid as always. Ordered some pitchers of beer and a couple cocktails. Drinks were the best part of the experience. Vintage Beer is always well crafted.
Service from our server was good. He was attentive and came around often to refill waters. It wasn't his fault management changed portion sizes to squeeze profit. We were disappointed to not have the manager check on our table after sharing our frustration with the portion sizes/value with him at the hostess stand.
Overall, food taste was alright but overpriced. Drinks were solid. Service was good from server but poor from management. Vintage has changed. Would not recommend.

We stopped in for some food before we went to wait in line at The Sylvee on Tuesday afternoon. My fiancé ordered the Thai salad recommended by the bartender who waited on us. He said it was the best salad he's ever eaten in his whole life and I ordered the CBR Wrap with cilantro rice on the side. I also got a Strawberry Rhubarb Crusher (cocktail)...It ALL was sooo delicious! We had no idea what to expect coming here but it HAS to be one of our favorite restaurants in Madison now!! Any time we are in town we definitely will be trying to stop in there again!! There were so many different things I wanted to order!! If I wouldn't have been so excited to see my favorite artist of all time next door, I would have taken the time to take pictures and show everyone how amazing it looked beyond what it tastes like! Thanks for the awesome service and incredible food! I hope we can come back one day!

Our server Darik, made our brunch experience so great! He was kind, funny, engaging, and had great recommendations. I really enjoyed the beer “dedication” he recommended, and the lemon mascarpone dessert was seriously phenomenal. For the amount of time I've been to Madison and not come here, is a travesty. Great food (loved the breakfast burrito and my partner enjoyed the chicken wrap), super beer list (you will find a winner amongst the different styles offered, some of which are gabf winners). Chill vibe. Amazing wait staff (shout out to Jessica for knowing her beers and being on top of our brunch service). Across the street from a car charging station. It is a great stop.

Vintage Brewing Co. Scaredy Cat: Vintage Brewing Company's origins go back to 2002 with the opening of Vintage Spirits & Grill near the UW-Madison campus (Madison, WI). Although I'm a UW Alum, I can't recall checking it out, although I definitely would have walked past it during a Saturday excursion to Wando's or The Red Shed. It wouldn't be until 2010 though, that Vintage Brewing Co. would officially open as a brewpub, serving delicious made-from-scratch food and unique hand-crafted beers. Their award-winning Scaredy Cat Oatmeal Stout is described as a hearty and full-bodied dark beer with rich malt flavors of molasses, cocoa, caramel, and espresso. Pouring the beer revealed a small head that quickly disappeared. I don't have the most sophisticated pallet as I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I detected primarily a bitter dark chocolate and espresso along with a semi-creamy feel. It has an IBU of 30 and comes in at 6.3% abv. I know you should never judge a book (or in this case beer) by its cover, but I sought this out because I liked the can (seems like a somewhat unpopular opinion, but cats>dogs). Anyways, I found it too bitter for my liking. With all the awards it has won, that's probably a me problem. Most stout fans (whether or not they like cats or dogs) should enjoy this one, but I'm afraid for me, it was just okay.

I walked into the bar and got pushed by the drunk bouncer who was so rude to me claiming that I wasn’t old enough to get into the bar, I showed my id to him and he denied it (ps I renewed it 2 weeks ago) I felt so discriminated by him since others were coming with no problem. Do better. also the owner replied to my review stating that they don’t have a bouncer when they clearly do.

Bar tender was attentive and gave a couple of beer samples when we requested. I asked what the vegetarian burger was and he mistakenly said it was an Impossible Burger. It turned out to be a homemade recipe but it was delicious! Side of green beans was very tasty and super flavorful (garlic!). My husband had the blackened salmon salad. Greens were fresh and salmon was prepared well. Beer was average.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience look no further than vintage capital east. From the moment you walk in and greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly balances sophistication and comfort. The menu features a wonderful array of dishes that cater to a variety of taste from seafood to expertly cook steaks Everything we tried was flavorful and crafted with the finest ingredients, but while the food was exceptional, what truly made the night stand out was the service our server, Kasey took the experience to another level, attentive, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the menus. Kasey ensure that we had everything we needed while allowing us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. His warm demeanor and impeccable timing made the evening feel personal and it was clear he generally cared about our experience. In a world where great food is often expected. It’s the service that really makes a meal memorable and Kasey’s service was the highlight of our visit. If you’re lucky enough to be served by him you’re in for a treat. Vintage capital east has certainly earned a place at the top of my list and I can’t wait for my next visit.

The food was good. I ordered a salad with chicken on it. The chicken was forgotten. It took close to 15 minutes for the chicken to come to the table so that I could eat. They ended up comping just the additional price of the chicken for my salad. The appetizer was good. Would have loved to have thwm a little lighter and fluffier. They were pretty heavy for a crab Rangoon.

Came to Vintage to warm up at the bar on a freezing cold December evening. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but the walk in arctic temperatures made me appreciate the destination a little more. The atmosphere was nice, maybe a little more classy than I am used to. Service was fast and friendly. The beer selection included a nice variety of Vintage's own brews. I tried a few and enjoyed them. The food was good, but I was really there for the beer. I would return to this bar.

Came back to town after living away for 5 years. Excited to get cheese curds and some good food. Unfortunately, the stroganoff was terrible! The sauce was watery, my steak was wildly overcooked, the crispy onions were burnt to a crisp. Service was amazing though. Came in my my 6 month old twins and some friends. Sadly, they only had one car seat holder so one had to be placed on the floor as it was too precarious to seat them in a Chari as suggested by the hostess. Don't get the stroganoff.

Edit: After 20 years in living in Madison this has been a go to for friends and family. I've celebrated birthdays, came in for brunch and have always recommended it. I had a really bad experience last time I was in but management reached out accordingly and fixed the issue. Total respect for the class act at management. I've come in after the fact to great service and food. One bad experience shouldn't define a fine establishment. Definitely recommend the visit.

Do NOT come to Vintage looking for bottomless mimosas, it’s pre-made garbage. Got gut rot from the orange juice before even feeling a buzz. Also trap you into bottomless because one trash mimosa is $9?! Otherwise food was mid at best, got the steak and eggs. Steak was cooked medium well when asked for for medium rare, salad was completely overdressed, on the bright side my eggs were a perfect medium hard. Our server was actually great though, very attentive, quick to get in drinks and food. Only real positive to the experience. Not worth your time or your money.

Great selection of beers on tap. I love the option for flights or individual shorty beers if I only want to try a few things. I love that beers are available in cans, growlers or crowlers if I want to take some home.
The food is great. I’ve tried a number of items on the menu and have enjoyed all of them. The rip rip chicken, buffalo chicken sandwich, Nashville hot sandwich and the grilled chicken caesar wraps are my favorites. The fruit cup is one of the best I’ve had.
I’ll be frequent Vintage before events, concerts and to try more seasonal brews.

Super friendly staff and awesome location… horrible food today. My Smash Burger was overcooked to the point where I’d liken it to eating a hockey puck. The pickles on the burger were tough (which was strange) and my tater tots were luke warm at best. Not typical for Vintage Brewing… I might have been more understanding if it had been really busy, there were maybe 10 other people in the restaurant.

I have been going to Vintage for years since living downtown and I am highly disappointed in the service I received this weekend! After ordering bottomless mimosas with a few orders of fries, we were told that we could not be served more than two mimosas in an hour. No where on the menu did it indicate that there was a drink limit, just a time limit. The manager and server that we had would not allow us any more drinks unless we ordered more food, which is understandable in some cases, but when we asked for more fries they said that it wasn't enough and required us to order more in order to be served. So very disappointed, we were taken advantage of when ordering and scammed us out of bottomless mimosas that were not bottomless. Won't be going back again and I would highly recommend finding a different brunch spot in Madison for more respectable service.

The food wasn’t terrible, generally what you’d expect at a brewery level place. The primary issues were that the bottomless mimosas were about 80% orange juice with no flexibility. We also had to pay extra for SYRUP when we ordered pancakes and IT DIDN’T COME WITH ANY. Paying extra for sauce is already a little ridiculous on a 30 dollar bill, paying for the expected sauce on pancakes when you start with none is preposterous. Patio is nice.

Having lived in Madison for many years I've been to the Vintage several times, and have found it to generally be a solid chain option for food, and some decent local beer options.
This weekend we visited the East Washington location for the second time and had a rather memorable experience. Three of us ordered the same hazy IPA, and I found it to be quite off. I described it as drinking beer with a hint of Pine-sol cleaner, which others agreed with. We brought it up to our server and she said that "others who know what the beer tastes like have also complained", but that it is the same beer so "it is what it is, we can't do anything about it." She did check with the manager and was told that perhaps the keg hadn't sat long enough and that may be leading to the flavors. I was rather surprised to see such a disregard for QC.
Our server was super friendly and prompt, and the tater tots and sidewinder fries were awesome as always. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was decent. I'm not a fan of their bread, but it is still a solid option.
Our recent experience will definitely impact whether we elect to go here in the future.

If you love bottomless mimosas, this is the place to go. The brunch menu is a great accompaniment. All interesting but still comfortable choices. Great service and very vibrant wall art.
Our favorite things to start off with are the pretzel appetizer and the Rip Rip chicken. We personally prefer garlic parmesan. the pretzels are fresh, soft, and hot, while the Rip Rip fried chicken thigh bits are juicy and delicious.
We stopped in for Fathers day and ordered chimichurri steak and eggs. It was very disappointing, the eggs were covered in oil and the steak was over done. We let our server know and they were so kind and exchanged our dish for something else. Also they didn’t charge us for either of the dishes and also gave us one of drinks on the house. We have never had a problem there before that and they were very accommodating when we did.
The replacement dish(ham, egg and cheese panini) was perfect.
Also their Nashville chicken sandwich is delicious and juicy.

Large place, modern decor; lots of taps - mostly own brews with few guest beers and ciders, full bar, friendly service once you can get their attention which I found to be next to impossible as they do their best to avoid eye contact (they talk to people they clearly know, but not to strangers); I like unobtrusive service but this is taking it to the extreme, overheard bartenders complaining that this is just one of many places they work at so they are not very familiar with it), decent beer and food, flights available

We came to eat here over the weekend. The restaurant was almost completely empty, but they put us at a corner table where we were completely trapped in by the tables around us. The waitress couldn’t even get over by us, so she shouted to us from over the other tables, “are you guys doing ok?” By the time I actually realized she was yelling it to us, she had already given up and turned and walked away. We actually needed things too. For example, we both had fries, and the ketchup bottle on our table was completely empty. We finished eating and the waitress didn’t come bring us our bill until another table left and she could get near us. We sat there for 15 minutes after we had finished with no service, irritated because we were trapped and couldn’t leave. Notice in my picture how all of the other tables are empty, and we easily could have been placed at any one of those.

Vintage has changed its menu and it's kind of disappointing. They took away the delicious margherita flatbread and now they have build your own, which I did and it was terrible. Burned crust, yet somehow still soggy, sauce was spicy and just overall not good at all. I wouldn't get it again. Beers are still on point. But overall, there's not much on the menu to excite.

Awesome restaurant with locally brewed beer. Service and venue was great and spacious. Beer had great selection and elwas very good but food was average. Still worth a stop if you're looking for dinner in the area.

I had the rip rip chicken with sweet chili sauce and the oatmeal stout on a cold rainy day. Really top notch on both beer and food. Definitely a do againer. Plenty of other beers and good I want to try.

This is more of a brewpub or sports bar than a true brewery atmosphere. They have lots of tvs to watch a game and lots of tables. Their beer list looks very good with a lot of interesting things on tap. However the beers were rather average compared to expectations. As someone told us it seems like a place still searching for its identity. As a brewery it was not what we were expecting but might be better described as something else.

I liked it. It had a nice atmosphere and they were pleasant. While there was much going on, everyone at my table could hear one another. If you like craft beers then definitely visit.

GREAT nachos. Also, I left my purse here. There was cash in the bottom of it. Staff pulled my library card from my wallet and called the public library who then called me to tell me my purse was there, $100 bill still sitting in the bottom. Thanks Vintage and these folks' parents.

The atmosphere and service were great. I hate giving low reviews and struggle to write this. We did a flight of 5 seasonal beers. If you enjoy a sour beer this is the place for you. All of the beers had a very distinct sour taste, even in a porter. I think all of the beers have potential but the sour taste was over powering, and in every type of beer.

Had a wonderful time here before a concert and it did NOT disappoint. Every staff member we encountered was so sweet and accommodating. Food was out of this world and we cleaned our plates! We sat by the bar and I can’t say enough great things about the bar staff. Efficient, attentive and very friendly! We will definitely be adding this in to our usual rotation. A fun environment that makes you feel welcome, safe and cared for.

Saturday at 1230 stopped in to experience what looked great. They weren't busy and we were told by the host to seat ourselves in the bar. We did. Bartender brought us menus and never returned. We watched her visit with others, clean glasses, watch TV and walk by us at least 6 times. No water, no eye contact, no service at all. After sitting for 18 minutes, we left. I told the smiling host as we left, "we never got any service, so we left". No comments, no offers, no apologies, nothing. We won't return.

A great place to watch a game. A very solid beer selection with above average food. The amount of TVs really made watching both soccer and baseball easy. The staff was incredibly efficient and provided excellent service. The food was very good I had the Cubano and my friend had the macaroni and cheese. We both like the beers we chose. The location which is only a couple blocks away from Breese Field, made it an ideal location to have a beer and a meal.

We both had fish .. fried cod with sidewinder fries and Bluegill with Chef’s Veg sautéed spinach. Both fish plates were generous, tasty, nice batter, juicy fish. Small cup of slaw was 3/4 full but needed as a reprieve from the fried fish. Spinach was skint as well. We enjoyed both but both agreed once is enough.

The road construction made it a little hard to get to, but it was well worth the stop.. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My cousin and I each had a flight to sample their beers. The flavors are true to their descriptions. We didn't eat, but the burgers looked amazing based on what other customers ordered.

Got the bluegill fish fry. Fish was very good. The coleslaw was disgusting, I spit it out. The coleslaw had zero flavor, I'd have preferred they not even include it.
$1.50 per dipping sauce is insulting. Do better.

Robin was our waitress. This is her 2nd time waiting on me. She's slow. She got our order wrong. Never cleaned the table. Hovered over me waiting on me to calculate my tip. She never checked on us. I'm not sure if she has anxiety or what. And our order was wrong.

I Love The Atmosphere Here! It's beautifully designed, yet casual enough to pop in with jeans or sweats.
There's great beer with a large selection to match most tastes. The food is phenomenal. I've tried a handful of dishes and have never been disappointed. I was even able to turn my family onto The Vintage after we went for a dinner party - and they're all picky eaters 😆
The ONLY downside is the bathrooms, which are tucked allll the way in the back. This is fine if you're in the dining room. However, if you're at the front of the bar or front "parlor" bar, it's a walk that may have you asking yourself if you're going in the right direction.

They take breakfast/brunch reservations and they have bottomless mimosas, so this place won me over real quick. It's close enough to the square that it's a very central location, but also not so close to town that it's overrun with the college kids. Reasonably priced, great food and drink selection, and the soft pretzels are to DIE for. Definitely would recommend!

They released a new set of N/A cocktails this spring that are absolutely wonderful. Food is good, but most of the chicken options are fried and would be nice to have a grilled/broiled chicken option. The fries were the best.

Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is because the food definitely wasn't anything above average, but it was good nonetheless. My mom ordered the lemon meringue beer, I tried it, and I highly recommend (I’m not usually a beer drinker). I love the interior, it’s a great atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and provided an excellent experience. Thank you!

We got sat at the very back table in the darkest Corner, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Our waitress didn’t bring out waters until we asked and then proceeded to ask if we wanted to order entrees or just stick to our appetizers…it felt like she didn’t want us there. Did not bring out a kids menu even thought she remembered a high chair…Through out the experience, anytime she would come and check on us she would give my daughter weird looks if she wasn’t sitting in her high chair. Overall a very unfriendly environment created by the staff. Food was okay. Would have liked to sit in the dining room with the rest of the guests and be treated like a guest instead of a nuisance.

I’d give more stars if I could. Stellar service. Attentive, friendly and informative. We didn’t try any food but we did a few flights and ended up leaving with a growler and multiple crowlers - including every sour on the menu! The lemon meringue sour is to die for. Perfection in a glass. Try it while you can.

Super good nachos here, get the bang for your $$. The atmosphere is a mix of bar but also sit-down restaurant so whatever your mood it works well and is overall clean. The burgers and chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked and tasted great. The fries are a must here too. The staffing the day we went seemed low so it took awhile for our orders or refills. But our waitress was super nice.

I have come here a few times and it’s usually always great. The cheesecurds are absolutely to die for and everything is pretty good! Service is great and the place is super cute and clean. Went today and got the turkey bacon melt. Sadly the bacon strips were all completely fat (couldn’t even take a bite if I tried) and somehow there wasn’t a single piece of turkey on it lol my turkey melt was more of a tomato lettuce sandwich. I’m sure if I would have said something they would have remade the order but I ordered to go and didn’t wanna make a fuss. Was a little disappointed though!
