Amazing food! Went with my family while visiting and they accommodated my grandfather who had missed breakfast and they let us order potatoes, bacon, and eggs al carte for him. He absolutely loved it! Everyone in the family loved their choice of food!

The only thing keeping me from giving 5/5 stars is the lack of auto tab closing at this bar. All other restaurants/bars in the Madison area automatically close tabs left open at a 20% tip except this chain, which is very convenient for a forgetful person such as myself! The staff work very hard & are so accommodating, they deserve to be tipped!

I stopped in for lunch on Monday with my partner and ordered two drinks and an appetizer. We had planned to stay for a full meal, but the service made that impossible. The bartender ignored us and several other guests for over 40 minutes while socializing and pouring drinks for two friends. During that time, we had no water refills and sat with empty glasses and plates in front of us.

The nachos were good (credit to the chef) but the overall experience was disappointing. When I asked to speak with a manager, I had to find a server to track him down from the back office. At first, he dismissed my concern, then offered an apology paired with a snarky remark about being “busy in a meeting.” He did comp one drink, which I appreciated, but the lack of professionalism from both staff and management was surprising.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, which makes it even more frustrating to see how much the customer care has declined. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but based on management’s indifference, I’m not optimistic.

We used them for our Rehearsal Dinner. They had the perfect space for practicing our walk through, we had our own private bar, and own restrooms. The food was very good and the bartender we had was super charismatic interacting with the guests. We were able to customize every detail and they were flexible with changes that occurred.

We rented the upstairs room for a big birthday party and it was a big success! We were very welcome and felt so comfortable. The service, food, and drinks were excellent. We were allowed to decorate and bring a cake too! Everyone had fun and loved having the party at Vintage Brewing Company in Cross Plains.

The Stable Room upstairs at The Vintage of Cross Plains was perfect for our gathering of 25. We were well taken care of by our waiter, Sky, who managed the evening with efficiency and finesse! We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner for approximately 50 guests at Vintage and it could not have gone better. The staff was great and easy to work with during the planning. The staff the night of the event were helpful and friendly. They had created a wonderful atmosphere which provided us with our own private space. The food was exceptional. The bartender was friendly. Everything turned out perfectly.

I feel bad because my sister, who is a regular at VBC, was so embarrassed by what we experienced there tonight.

She keeps apologizing for how bad it was.

Why was it bad?

The service? Inattentive and bothered by our presence.

The food? Cold for 2 of the 3 of us. Straight up bad for the 3rd.

But the good news is they made us wait 40 minutes to bring us cold bad food…

I don’t normally write reviews, but our experience here was so bad that I’m pissed that I spent a dollar there.

The place was not crowded at all but we had to wait a bit for the hostess to seat us. In the process she walked well ahead of us and just basically tossed two menus on the table we assumed was ours as she just walked away without a word. The waitress eventually returned to take our orders and without one word from her we placed our orders. After a bit of a wait our drinks were served, again, without a word from the waitress. After a bit, the wrong appitiser was served until we informed him it was the wrong order. I could go on with the story of endless poor service. The waitress also spent her time flirting with another patron and never offered refills on drinks, never checked as to how we were doing. The waitress was one of the very worst we have experienced. The only saving grace was the food was amazing. I cannot believe the waitress is able to maintain her job!!!! Terrible service!!!!

We had a really disappointing experience during our visit. When we arrived, the hostess abruptly told us to try the beer garden without any explanation as to why we couldn’t be seated in the main restaurant. It felt dismissive and unwelcoming. To make things worse, when we entered, we overheard what appeared to be the hostess’s manager cussing out a waiter right in front of the hostesses. It was extremely unprofessional and left a very bad impression. Overall, the poor communication and unprofessional behavior made for an uncomfortable atmosphere—we won’t be coming back. To note we did not go to the beer garden, the tone from the hostess turned us off from eating at the restaurant.

Hed the smash burger, fries, and a Kolsch style beer. Burger was competent, and the fries were hot, thick and salty, just the way I like them. Come for the beer, stay for the beer, eat if you are hungry but don't feel like you are missing out if you skip the meal. Drink your pork chop folks, and stop at Culver's on the way home.

I had my husband's celebration of life in the back area of the building. The event was amazing, and the staff and food were spectacular. I highly recommend the Vintage for any of your event needs. It's a beautiful private space with a bar and many tables. Special shout out to Michele and her staff in back who had great attention to detail and provided the best support anyone could ask for.

we would buy the full orders of nachos and the rip rip chicken and leave very satisfied. we went on 5/2/25 and ordered the same dishes and left hungry. they no longer have the full nachos but still charge the same price for a third of the size. The rip rip was also about 30% smaller in size. I won't be back. We had been noticing the place was less and less full on the weekends. Finally, we had made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and they wanted to sit is in the back by the bathroom so had to ask for another table. Update - I did email as requested but never received a reply

One of my favorite things to do was grab their nachos because they were delicious and reasonably priced. But when I picked them up this time, instead of the pizza box they normally come in, I got a small container with mayyyybe half the nachos for the same exact price. I had been going weekly, but sadly no more. We had guest visit and making a 3 hr trip drive. So embarrassing. They cut all their portions in half and kept their prices the same. Update: got the big sky burger, definitely doesnt look like the app or online picture, so that was disappointing. But the flavor was delicious! Big portion size, cooked perfect, and seasoned well. I would get it without the bbq! Probably one of the better burgers ive had. I do recommend it, Just a heads up to anyone who hoping for the thick onion rings on top like i was...that doesnt happen. This is my personal favorite hangout spot on the west side of Madison for any occasion, whether it's a weekday lunch, happy hour, Sunday brunch or a Friday night. I typically come in and have a seat at the bar, and am always greeted with quick service and a smiling face. Everyone behind the bar knows my name and my drink, though when I switch it up and have a beer I've never been disappointed. Some of my favorites are Better Off Red, and a seasonal sour called On the Dole. On a few occasions, I've brought my family in to dine in, and have received excellent food and outstanding service, especially from Brittany and Liz in particular. I host office happy hours here and always bring guests from out of town as well. Never disappoints. 10/10, A+, 5 stars.

Vintage Brewing Co in Madison is a fantastic spot for lunch and dinner, featuring a spacious and inviting bar. The staff is attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. The nachos were prepared to perfection—flavorful and well-balanced.

However, my experience was slightly marred by ordering a Mediterranean bowl, which was disappointing. The steak tasted microwaved, the hummus was frozen cold, same for the rest of the veggies. After providing feedback, the manager was incredibly professional and accommodating, offering to replace the dish and ultimately removing it from my bill—a gesture I truly appreciated.

Overall, a great place with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, though food consistency could be improved. 4/5 stars.

We have been coming to the vintage for years - the nachos keep us coming back. We are constantly impressed with the menu selection . They update it just frequently enough to keep things interesting, and everything we’ve tried has been amazing. The only thing better than the food is the service. We have never once had a bad experience with a staff member (big shout out to Leroy, we LOVE when he serves our table). Every time we are here it is clear that the staff are invested in providing a super-positive experience. Our most recent visit (which is prompting this review) Marta and Jake really blew us away with their service. There was a small mistake in the online menu, and one item was advertised that isn’t actually on their menu. This item happened to be a favorite of ours from years ago, and we were disappointed to learn it wasn’t actually available. Marta and chef Jake worked together to figure out how to create a replica item with ingredients on hand, and made sure we were happy with the end result.

I know something as simple as breakfast food can seem inconsequential, but they really made our day. Thanks, Marta and Jake!

Packed on a Tuesday? Service not great at bar. They were sold out of most the beers I wanted the flight I got had all so so beers. No one checked on me. My app of chilli came out same time as dinner and it was over salted. The customer favorite chicken wrap was 70% lettuce.
Overall stay away for food and even beers aren't good. How are they packed? I know it's a small-big town in Madison but there has to be better options. Won't be back. They also charged me $1.50 for a bbq cup to go with my wrap. Without notice. With me substituting ranch.

Place is a bit dated, I get it... It's called vintage. Bathrooms need some TLC, things were not connected to the walls. Bar surface could have seemed cleaner, was hesitant of placing silverware on the bar. Fishtank in the bar center was cool. But I'm a sucker for a saltwater tank.

Service was good. Good communication, beer always stayed full. Staff cared.

Food was not great. Chili was too salty, meatballs were also too salty. Enjoyed the other flavors within the meal. Have you ever had a relative that smoked heavily and they just salted the crap out of their food so they could taste something? Makes me curious if the chef or prep staff are heavy smokers.

This review has to do with special events specifically but we also love eating at Vintage as a family so recommend it for that as well! We needed a space to have a party for friends where we could also screen something live on television. Finding somewhere like that was harder than you'd think so I was so happy when I heard Vintage had an available space. Given that, even the bare minimum would have been fine -- but Vintage really went above and beyond! The space was lovely (and very festively decorated for the holidays!), the staff was attentive and the food was great! I wasn't sure if I had ordered enough in advance and low and behold, I did not. Staff was on hand and worked with me to figure out what we could have made quickly. We also had a dedicated bartender which really made the experience feel like a special party and not just some friends in a rented space. Thank you again to all the staff at Vintage who worked with us on the event! I'd recommend to anyone looking for a great space that's welcoming and easy for guests and hosts alike.

Not gonna lie, this place is fantastic. Often busy and bustling, the Vintage is distinguished by its amazing menu of beers and more importantly, the quality of its kitchen,. At the time of writing I am two Mosasaurs in, a citrusy IPA that has driven cheap-date me to a state of drunken satisfaction.

I had a caesar salad with crispy chicken for dinner. Again, deeply impressed. Normally I leave at least some food on my plate due to a low appetite but my plate is barren. Very good.

You would do well to come to the Vintage. It's what you expect from a Wisconsin dining-tavern, but with higher quality food than you might anticipate. I will most certainly come again, as I often have.

We recently had our vow exchange and wedding reception in the event room at Vintage Brew. Co. and it could not have been more perfect. Absolutely everything was great! Michele was awesome helping with the booking and was 100% on top of getting this arranged (she made it so easy). The food was delicious (order the roasted chicken and potatoes and Mediterranean plate for an appetizer!) and the service provided by Hattie and Carla was amazing. They were on top of everything too and provided everything we needed (and the room was set up beautifully). Everyone involved was also so kind - huge in my book. There are usually hiccups with everything, of course that's normal, but we had NO hiccups whatsoever. If you have a small-size ceremony - we had about 40 people - you can do your vows there (we had a metal arch decorated with flowers and put it in front of the huge window in the room) followed by your reception. Well worth the money, which by the way was incredibly reasonable. No room rental fee, just hit the minimum. I highly recommend Vintage BC. We'll probably go back just for dinner now and then!

It was a difficult day, but the stellar food and service you provided were greatly appreciated by everyone and made it a wonderful celebration. I received so much positive feedback from our family and friends about how amazing the food and drinks were.

They were so flexible and accommodating with the planning, especially since we were unsure about the final headcount. It was really helpful that you allowed us to order additional food on such short notice since more people showed up than expected. The staff was so kind and accommodating, especially when our loved ones wanted to stay a little longer at the end of the event. That extra time was so meaningful, and I appreciate their understanding as we were slow to leave. It was also a great location logistically because there was plenty of parking, and it was easy to find right off the beltline for out of town guests.

The entire staff was attentive and quick to handle any and all requests. I truly can't thank you enough for everything you did to make this celebration so special.

It is a very nice place to meet people and have drinks and a meal. They have an excellent beer menu, and all styles are represented. My wife and I ordered the same thing, the Eddie Muenster burger with tater tots. We also had fried cheese curds for an appetizer. My burger was just a bit overcooked, which made it dry, but the beer took care of that issue. Tots were tasty. There are no complaints on service as well. The outdoor seating is next to the road, so you will get a lot of background noise from the traffic. All in all, a good meal.

Great brew pub / restaurant! The grilled salmon salad was 10/10 awesome! The salmon was perfectly cooked and the accompanying salad was delicious on its own. I particularly liked the candied nuts on it.
Paired with the Whaddya Say Bro hazy IPA, this was an unbeatable combo.

My wife got the Thai chicken salad and said was good but would have been better with shrimp. Our friend got the build-your-own hamburger and said, ”it was perfect”.

We ordered cheese curds (comes with a delicious garlicky ranch) and the bbq baked mac and cheese. Great flavor, came out hot, fresh and quick!
We also did a beer flight. You can order different number of beers per flight (2,3,4,5 etc). We did 4.
Some good ones and some we didn’t love, but lots to choose from.
Milo was our server and he was friendly and attentive. We told him we didn’t like one of the beers at all and he offered us a taster of a different one.

We sat outside on the patio, nice seating area, has umbrellas and heat lamps (not that we needed them in summer).

Our event was GREAT!! Michele did a fantastic job of assisting in all of the pre-planning , making my life easier. Once on site the staff working our party - Liz, Brittany, and Casper were wonderful. It's such a great spot for a lunch break! Our server was very friendly and got our food out really quickly. I had the Smash Burger, and it was fantastic. Outside patio seating was really nice.

The Vintage provided a private room for a work function that had plenty of seating and standing tables. The food was great and our host was actively checking in to make sure we had everything we needed at all times. The private bar was a bonus. Everyone enjoyed themselves and I would highly recommend the Vintage for any gathering.

We had a 60th birthday party for my wife at The Vintage on Whitney Way on Saturday March 16th. I met with Michele and she helped me plan the whole thing including food and drink options. The Paul Revere room was a perfect space and we had a great time. Liz was our bartender and was phenomenal. She made sure the food was always brought out and warm and she made everybody perfect drinks all evening. We had a signature cocktail of a Peach Pomegranate Moscow mule which my wife loved. Afterwards, we all congregated at the bar for more B.S. and shots and Liz has now been indoctrinated by my wife and her girl crew into the 1982 graduating class of LaFollette high School. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

After each week we ask each other if we would ever come here again. That is our way of telling each other how we felt about the entire experience. This was a never again place. Historically this has been a wonderful community gathering space but the atmosphere has gone downhill the last few visits. Tonight’s visit, slightly after 10 pm, was not suitable for ladies. The music playing was very raunchy, and there was not light fare available for sensitive stomachs. The pork nachos would suit someone with an iron stomach and the serving was generous. The staff were friendly, but limited attention paid to food allergens in how it was presented, although I did mention a concern when ordering. I would have preferred to have been recommended a different menu item. The food was priced fairly.

This place has always had a friendly atmosphere, great food and drinks to offer. Today we had a order mishap with two pretzels orders and it was totally understandable, same tab, same order, two different times by two different staff members at the bar, any person would have assumed our first order was the only order. My friend was so patient and but the time we realized the second order wasn’t ordered she was so hungry she was kind of nauseous so this other member overheard the situation and offered some spare tots or fries from back. That man saved the moment!! Zack was his name and he saved her stomach from eating itself. Not only that the bartender who misunderstood totally made it right with an apology (barely needed) and a drink chip for the trouble. Good service great food, friendly staff all around. Thanks for being good warm folks!!

The mark of a great company is how they handle an issue. I’ve had a few fairly minor issues at the vintage and I continue to go back because the food is good but more importantly, they have ALWAYS handled it exceptionally well. Vintage is on Pub Pass! Good beer. Tried the Razzmary this week! Never had anything like that before! We usually sit at the bar where service is pretty good. We had a weird experience the first time we went, though (a couple years ago) — they refused to seat us because we weren’t planning on a full meal.

Have to recommend the Rip Rip Chicken. Flatbreads are also really good. Never been disappointed by the food!

It's wild. I went with 3 other cyclists and honestly 30k worth of bikes and they wouldn't let us be near our bikes outside. (Bike racks away from the building only) and I had a kickstand on mine. They also said they wouldn't be losing any business when we leave? Which was pretty rude honestly.
