Once again the food was mediocre.
My birria cheesesteak sandwich was served on a Wonder bread-like hoagie roll that was mushy and appeared sodden with grease which wasn’t surprising considering the consommé was actually 3/4 grease and 1/4 whatever. To cap off a poor meal, after I gave the server a $10 and a $20 bill for a $24 meal she came back with a few cents change and asked me if I wanted it. I told her I had given her $30 and then she went back to the register for at least a couple of minutes and then returned to say “Nope.. You gave me a $5 and a $20 bill.” Does she make her tips by stiffing customers at the Vintage? Sheesh. All I had were $1 and $20 bills in my wallet before I paid cash for a beer with a $20 bill and got a $10 bill and some $1s as change which left me with 1 $10 bill, several $1 bills and some $20s, but no $5s in my wallet before I ordered my meal from her. Very Bad experience.

Sat outside on the patio for a sunny weekday lunch. Lovely views of the river. Friendly, attentive service. Standard upscale pub grub offerings from curds to specialty burgers to fish sandwiches. I had a nice salad with golden beets, blue cheese & crispy chicken.

Went with a group of girlfriends and had a great time. There was plenty of parking when we got there and we got day immediately. We requested to sit on the patio, which offers beautiful views of the water. It was warm and sunny, but plenty of umbrellas to provide shade so we could enjoy our lunch comfortably. Our waitress was awesome. She not only gave great service, but she really made our experience fun! The food was great. We started with the bruschetta. It was the perfect size for the five of us to share without spoiling our appetite. It tasted amazing. We all ended up getting the special which was a chicken panini, the chicken breast was covered in artichoke dip. We all loved it! Recommend stopping here!

We had a Celebration of life for our friend this last weekend, and the Vintage was a perfect spot for it! The room was beautiful, the food was delicious and the servers were all very kind and attentive. This was our second experience having a celebration of life here and both times we had a great experience! We highly recommend the Vintage for a group gathering!

I booked my company’s conference dinner at Vintage earlier this month. From start to finish I was very impressed by Michele’s communications and willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions. Food and beer taste good... That's the unfortunate part because the staff is COMPLETELY INCAPABLE of creating an accurate order. 80% OF MY FOOD ORDERS ARE INACCURATE. I keep ordering because they often make up for it. But the fact that 20% of my orders are actually what I order, leaves me to believe this company is simply incompetent to completing an order with 100% accuracy. I really cannot seeing myself order from them again after 6 times in a row of an in accurate food order... Update I get the correct food over an hour later... We ate at the Vintage tonight. Sat outside on a perfect evening with a great view of the river. Shared a Thai salad and I had the Rip Rip Mac n Cheese and my husband had the Beef Barbecue Mac n Cheese. Everything was excellent with plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We had our wedding reception at The Vintage on July 19th and the day was perfect. Our guest list was about 120 people, with about 20 small children. We picked the stuffed pork entrée, salmon, and vegetarian paella. Numerous guests told us that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Everyone thought the bartender was funny and charismatic. The room fit well with our esthetic and the pictures look beautiful. Overall it was a really wonderful day for everyone!

Girls day visit to Vintage. We were lucky to get a table outside with the beautiful view. We started out with the deep fried meatballs. We all loved them! After trying them, I might need to order them every time now. One person had the Thai salad (she rated it 20 out of 10), one had the smash burger with sidewinder fries, one the blackened chicken & cilantro rice bowl with some ingredients on the side, one ordered the quesadilla (I didn't get a picture of that one), and I had the nachos. We all thought it was excellent. I asked them to deconstruct the nachos because I knew I would never be able to eat it all and would enjoy leftovers. Food was plated beautifully and everything was delicious. Our server, Anette, was just so friendly and attentive. They should have her be a trainer if she already isn't. Her cheerful and upbeat personality made our experience even more enjoyable.

First off, the beer selection is excellent, both in quantity and quality. Like all such places, there is at least one of all of the usual beer styles. What sets Vintage apart for me are the complex, high alcohol brews, of which there are many. 5 stars for the beer. The atmosphere is first rate, and the food is very good, with no complaints of concerns whatsoever. There was just one peculiarity, with either the service or the business's policies. I was in a group of 4, at a table for 4, which was equipped with 4 food menus and one beer menu. We asked if we could each have a beer menu since there are at least 2 dozen to choose from, many of which were quite unique, and was told only one per table. We tried looking up the beer menu online, was having no luck, and were then told by our server we would need to use the single menu. All was forgiven once the beer arrived, but it was awkward for awhile.

We have eaten many times at the Vintage. We like the Appetizer Rip Rip Chicken that we share. It states on the menu it's served on a bed of coleslaw. Its amazing. BUT When ordering this appetizer and eating outside its served in a to go container, it comes with 1 TINY cup of coleslaw as a side. It's really hard to share this as an appetizer served like this when the menu clearly states served on a bed of coleslaw. This has happened 2 weeks in a row so it wasn't an error. You also get more chicken when eating indoors. Would be nice if their was consistency how you serve your food.

Would eat here again and give it another chance. Only took a star off because the food tasted okay. I would also recommend asking staff what beer pairs with what you order because that may have skewed things for me. The star feature was the ranch and mustard. I liked the crispiness of the sidewinder fries but without the amazing ranch they wouldn't be much to write home about. The mustard was amazing on the VBC chicken but if you got a bite without it or the caramelized onions it was a tad bland. Maybe that's the point, for the chicken not to over shadow the mustard and caramelized onions?

Being a beautiful Saturday, we took a mini road trip to Sauk City & stopped at The Vintage Brewing Company. We've been there before for beers on the deck but today we ate inside.

We started with the brushetta which was flatbread, cheese, veggies & balsamic glaze - very different & tasty. We had the entrees Pub Style Haddock & Rip Rip Mac & Cheese. The haddock was delicately breaded & fried to perfection and I chose the side of new red potatoes. It was great! The Mac & Cheese, with deep fried, breaded cauliflower as substitute for chicken was very tasty - especially with the spicy jalpeno queso.
The Vintage has a vast choice of brews on the menu - it was hard to choose. We ordered Key Lime Wit, Butternut Road & Bock's O-Chocolates. (Light, fruity, nutty & chocolately - all yummy.)
We left we take home boxes of leftovers which we'll be enjoying soon.
We'll stop back at Vintage soon as it was quite enjoyable with delightful, attentive service.

Terrible communication when making a reservation for Mother's day. I specifically said we had a 6 yr old & 2 yr old that most likely would not like anything in the buffet & could we order for them from the menu. Was told yes so made the reservation for 12:30. After ordering the drinks I asked about ordering for the kids from the menus & was told we could not until 3 pm! Then why was I not told that on the phone? So we had to pay the price for two kids that only had some watermelon as we could not get them anything else! Very disappointed & will not recommend !

As a longtime customer, I’m becoming less and less impressed with the Vintage franchise.
I called in tonight to ask if there was a prime rib special, and the hostess that answered was absolutely clueless. All she could come back with was a suggestion of rip rip chicken and didn’t seem to have any comprehension of what prime rib even is..?
As far as being a grassroots Wisconsin establishment, I would hope your staff would be well-familiar with the standards of true supper club form. Thank God for your waterfront view, otherwise I’m sure you’d be underground far before this review.

We decided to stop at this Vintage since we were in the area. Usually we go to the West side or Cross plains locations (both are always 5 stars!). Out of the 3 locations we've been to, this one was definitely our least favorite. From the second we walked in, seemed like they had a lot of employees that either didnt care or didnt know what they were doing. The hostess seemed to have an attitude and didnt really know what she was doing, as the table she went to put us at outside, was already taken. Another employee who was standing up there seemed to know someone who walked in after us and completely ignored the fact we were there. There was a few times as well, an employee would bring food out to the wrong tables. Luckily the Waitress we had was decent, checked in often and communicated about timing on our food. Now for the food, my bf got the fish sandwich and I got the chicken bacon ranch wrap. Bf said his fish sandwich was good, he didnt realize the tarter sauce came on the sandwich and not the side like every other topping for it. Very difficult to eat as the fish seems to squeeze out of the bun, but flavor was good. His fries seemed to be the end of a batch, lots of little ones and not many respectable sized ones. His portion also seemed quite a bit smaller than mine, he had maybe 1/2-2/3 my amount. My CBR wrap was good, the chicken portion seemed small compared to other locations, I feel like it was a lot of lettuce. Flavor was delicious as always. My fries were not done, the outside seemed crispy, but the inside was undercooked, not sure if the oil was too hot. Deck setting was nice outside, seats are comfortable and everything is spaced out enough that it doesn't seem loud or crowded. Overall, I don't think we would come to this one again unless we were in the area.

10/10 This is the spot you are looking for after a long day hiking the trails in Wisconsin. This place sits on the water, has great service, and a great atmosphere that comes from a top notch brewery. Spicy Chicken Bowl was nothing short of exceptional (keep the sriracha sauce on it!!!) and the CBR wrap was a great option that could be shared amongst two people! All I can say is WOW! My husband and I went on a Friday night around 5 PM and, as always, enjoyed drinking and dining at the bar. We had a beer flight, he ordered the fish fry, and I had the pineapple salmon — everything was absolutely phenomenal! I have dined at The Vintage Brewing Company a few times over the years, and the experience has always been a good one. When I have out-of-state guests, I take them there to enjoy a lunch, vegetarian friends, too. Yesterday, I had a delectable broasted fish and curly parmesan fries, and cole slaw with a glass of Pino Greigio. The service was excellent and timed well. The food arrived hot and crispy. The fries are too good to be true. I like the atmosphere and ambience of the place, too. On the photo attached, the fries are on the left, in case anyone might think they are shrimp : ).

We are tourist-y-ing the area and we love to visit local breweries. This one (Sauk City location) popped up on the map, and the food menu looked great, too! Our bartender was super helpful, personable, and knowledgeable about the beers.

GM or other type person was also very engaging and personable.

We left with 3 bombers & 2 crowlers! Highly recommend.

My only regret is that I failed to get these folks' names so I could give credit where credit is due!

waste of time n money. first they have a vegan menu online to meet someone dietary needs. we go in n waited too long to get a seat, theres 4 of us. many seats available and too many staff members. sat us a 2 top. they give us menus- buffet - ok. we'll there's no buffet so why give us the option. there's no vegan menu. 10 minutes later oh we have a vegan burger but that's it. we ask for 1 vegan burger, 1 burger medium done and split the roast beef hoogie but make it a wrap. comes back n won't sub the bread for wrap. I ask again. nope. so I order no bread and wrap on side. 40 plus minutes later here comes 2 black burnt burgers on an oily bun. gross! also who puts the toppings on top of the bun.. u can hear them crunching the bite. my taco shell was stale n hard n roast beef n mushroom tasted n smelled like bottom feeder dirty fish. the fries had white fuzz fibers on them. I wanted to puke from smell but we are out with our old neighbor friend n just backed up. took mine back. they didn't want to complain but I will for them- they didn't eat it cause it was disgusting n burnt with overwhelming oil buns. they threw their to go boxes out. the place is dirty- from the lights to the table is greasy n dusty. u got that many employees u can clean something. maybe stick to brewery if u cant manage a restaurant. ur cook was unaccommodating from a simple swap and can't cook a simple burger. 0 stars.

Well I have only been to the new brewpub in Saul City once so I was tempted to only give 4 stars but decided to extend to 5. Their beer is fantastic. Even the styles that I really am not fond of, like wheats and pilsners, still exude quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship. The Imperial Stout was sublime. The "imperial" British pale, Gotter Otter, was 1bof my all time favorites. There is a growler in my fridge!

Hands-down, one of my favorite places in the area. Everything from the service, the variety of beverages, the outdoor seating area, the views as well the good. Speaking of the food… I stopped in yesterday for lunch and had the most unique and delicious burger. The Home grown burger had a combination of fresh beef, apples, white cheddar cheese, arugula, aioli sauce and drizzled with an apple cider reduction sauce. I was blown away by the flavorful combination and it was thanks to the servers recommendation that I gave it a whirl. I love this place, the owners are constantly getting back to the community and I’m confident you will feel right at home when you step in the front doors

We happened upon this establishment on a day trip, and we were pleased with the test run. The wait to order was minimal, with our server bringing drinks and allowing more time to look over the menu. The wait for our food felt a bit long, but nothing unreasonable. The plate presentation was good. The food was great. Compliments to their massive fries, which have a crispy coating and a soft, mashy center. We did not love the breading on the onion rings. It was a bit heavy-handed with the salt. I just wanted to point out that if you base your experience at Vintage because of the wi fi, you came to the wrong place. It's a brewery, not a whinery. (See what I did there?) Honestly the food here has gone a little downhill. All of the cheese sauces during our visit were very curdled (in Mac and cheese, nachos, and cheese sauce for soft pretzels). We’ve also had really awkward service a few times - servers who were overly positive despite seeing we’re not eating the food or waiting a long time. I wouldn’t call Vintage a zero, but it’s not close to a 5. Prices have also gone up quite a bit.

What a cute place. It was a beautiful day so the inside and outside was packed. Somehow there was only one female stall available for the entire restaurant. Women were actually using the men’s room since there was a line. The jalapeno cheese sauce for the pretzel was phenomenal. I had the Caesar salad and I was not a fan of the homemade dressing. It carried a vinegar tone that actually made me choke so much that my husband thought something was wrong. I couldn’t even talk it was so strong. His steak sandwich was chopped steak which he was not expecting. It was good but incredibly hard to eat without huge steak chunks falling out.

We came for an evening out and it did not disappoint. We ordered the pretzels with dip, couple beer flights and a salad and flatbread off the menu.

The steak and blue cheese salad was delightful and I loved the fresh basil that was somewhere in there!

The pretzels were amazing and we will definitely be back! So many incredible beers to choose from, we will just need to try them all.

Only downside was that they were a little on the pricy side.

I'm a sucker for outdoor eating. We just happened to be in Sauk City and decided to check this place out. We sat at the back patio. Although cloudy, it was such a pleasure to eat next to the river and under the open sky.
Our server was so very friendly, cooperative and accommodating.
I was very pleased with our meals. My wife's salad was piled high with lettuce and vegetables along with very tender chicken cutlet. It was well breaded, nicely, crispy, and seasoned, and juicy. I loved my brisket burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy in the middle, and piled high with brisket. I didn't know the waffle fries were sweet potato fries. Many places screw up the fries when cooking, but these guys did a great job. Drizzling honey on the fries elevated it to another level of tasty pleasure. I will always be ordering these fries when I go there!
Overall, this is a great place to eat under the stars or just to be outside. We live in Middleton, but this place is worth the drive.

This place is awesome. Came on a really busy Saturday afternoon but did not have to wait for a table outside. Plenty of shaded seating even during a pretty hot day by Wisconsin standards. We’ve been here multiple times as we love the patio with the view of the Wisconsin River. Last night though, may have been the last. We arrived around 8:30 PM & asked to be seated on the patio. It was crowded, but people were also leaving and yet they couldn’t make that work. They seated us inside at a table that was so dark, we had to use the flashlights on our phone to read the menu. And over the many years we’ve been going there, the food just gets worse in terms of being processed, fried, & anywhere close to healthy. The location is amazing. I just wish they could figure out what they really want to do with the menu.

Today, we visited my favorite Brewing company. I absolutely love Vintage Brewing Co! LOVE the McLovin beer. We tried a new appetizer, Chipotle Peach BBQ chicken bites. It is a slightly spicy and sweet taste that is amazing and comes on a bed of creamy coleslaw. I'm definitely going back !

Vintage is our top choice, whether we're going out to eat with visitors, or it's just the two of us after a Sauk Prairie Riverside Trail hike or Devil's Lake hike.

The service, food and beverages are consistently great. And the location - overlooking the Wisconsin River - can't be beat. The beer selection is also awesome, with tasty standard brews and many unique options using local products like coffee from the local coffee roaster and Wollersheim whiskey barrels.

Finally, we really enjoy attending the beer vs wine pairing dinners that Vintage and Wollersheim run. They are great fun, where you share a table with other attendees that you get to know as you enjoy the terrific food and beverages. Both Vintage and Wollersheim are gems that the Sauk Prairie area is lucky to have.

Was here (have been to the other locations many times) for the first time today for a late lunch. We had two very minor errors with our entire experience, neither were anything to be upset over. 1. One of us asked to put olives in their drink and they were missed. 2. I asked to have the CBR wrap with the buffalo sauce, and the buffalo sauce arrived on the side in a small container. We chalked the 2 minor mistakes to be by our server, Savana K, being it was her first day as she was clearly a little nervous. Instead when we received the check, it clearly mentioned "olives" under the drink, and "add buffalo in wrap" under the CBR Wrap.

It was other people on the job, likely other people that had much more experience than her 1 day on the job, that made those little mistakes. She did everything perfect. She was very polite, attentive, and helpful. We were all also impressed by the way she handled a little difficult and needy table next to us, while keeping her composure.

We think you have a winner with Savana. Goodluck Savana with your new job, from how it looked to us on your first day, you're going to do great!

The two high top tables by bar, just as you walk in should be eliminated! The tables are right were the waiters and waitresses place orders, pick up drink from bar, fill water glasses, and check out guesses orders. It’s like sitting behind the work station. The bar service is very inefficient. It has happened to me several times that I waited at the bar for unreasonable amount of time to be even notice by the service person. I'm writing this review while been waiting for the bartender for about 20 minutes. She has servers 6 customers who showed up after me. There are several elderly people who are just walking inside to either pay or order at the bar. The owner(s) should definitely hire more staff. If I am not noticed in 3 minutes, I am leaving.

Stay away if you're a vegetarian. They offer a vegetarian patty, but when asked if it could be cooked where there isn't burger grease, I was told "we can't guarantee it won't be cooked in burger grease." Seriously? Why? I worked at the UW in food service for 4 years. Cleaning a spot n the grill isn't difficult at 5:30 pm on a Thursday. To make it worse, the server made a big production out of it and acted like my request was over the top. There are only two other meatless options on the menu, flatbread pizza and a salad. This was my first time at this location. The Madison location never had these issues. I won't be back. Disappointing.

Easter brunch here is TERRIBLE! $25 for absolutely horrible food-powdered eggs, ham and beef that didn’t taste like ham or beef. Hubby said ham tasted similar to liverwurst! Other family said beef tasted weird. Nothing is “hand made or homemade” as advertised. It is ALL “prepared/premade Sysco food”. Stuffed French toast were deep fried French toast sticks! Stopped in last night, to see a couple of former Dells Bar Keeps and on their recommendation to stop in Dustin Lauren Thank you for the Awesome service along with your super knowledge of your 8 page beer menu (wowzers was it really 8 pages? excellent detail describing the beers) and your food menu as well, normally as a 1st time customer I would have been a bit overwhelmed by the extensive beer menu, but a quick couple of questions by me and them, 3 1 ounce samples and they had me honed right in and hit it dead on the spot, at first seeing no head on the beer, I was thinking flat? but no not at all, perfect amount of carbonation in each of the beers that I enjoyed, and I didn't feel "beer full" at all
thoroughly enjoyed each of the samples of beer along with the taps I ordered the Trepidation, Bee’s Knees, Sauk Ness Monster, Woodshed and the Dedication Abbey 'Extra' Dubbel, each of them excellent beers with great flavor, depth with the perfect body (loved the names made me laugh a couple of times with the tongue in cheek names)
so time for Dinner Dustin's knowledge of the food menu also spot on, I ordered the Bangers and Colcannon, again hesitant to order mashed potatoes at a restaurant, as normally barely edible, not the case here at all, the bangers (we call them brats) had a prefect snap to them with great fresh flavor and the colcannon a mix of mashed potatoes (1st time ever at a restaurant Great Fresh mashed potatoes) and cabbage and then a nice gravy all hit the spot perfectly
looking at the menu, I will have to get back there at least 4 or 5 more times Lauren had recommended the Orange Sesame Ahi Salad which what I was going to order, then switched to the Bangers, sitting at the bar other patrons were ordering the Nachos which look awesome as did the wraps, the mac and cheese and burgers, were all items I will need to get back for

I am a wedding photographer and photographed a wedding at Vintage Brewing in Sauk City recently. This is such a stunning industrial wedding venue to work at! If you love beer, imagine getting married at this cool brewery. The grounds around the venue are also fantastic for photos with views of the river in the background. The venue staff were really friendly. If you are looking for a cool and unique wedding venue near Madison, I would definitely recommend booking your wedding here!

I’ve eaten here three times. The first two were inside and had great experiences. I just ordered take out and had a horrible experience. They said it was going to take 20 minutes, it took 44 and they were not busy at all. Bar and floor were almost completely deserted. They charged me when I came in and tried to charge me again after I got my food. When I did get the food, it was cold (I checked in the car to see if it was even hot) I got home and they forgot extras I specifically requested. My recommendation, eat in, never take out.
Update:
The staff reached out and gave me a refund. My experience tonight was poor, but the staff made it right and apologized. Customer service changed from 1 to 5 star. Overall rating from 1 to 3 stars.

The atmosphere is wonderful, very quaint, very cozy. We were sat right next to the fish tank which was entertaining. Mace was doing a phenomenal job training on just their second day! Sandy is a great trainer and thanked us for our patience during Mace's training. Topnotch servers! The Poboy was delicious. The fries were great, and the RANCH?! Was AMAZING! The Candy Store cocktail is tasty and the Keep Calm and Berry on cocktail was perfect. I really appreciate that some (if not, all, I don't remember which) of the proceeds from the sales on that cocktail go to charity, especially a charity for veterans with PTSD. I even got the option to round up my tab to donate. What a wonderful place, I will definitely visiting again whenever I am back in Wisconsin!
