A nice relaxing spot right next to the lake with an amazing view from the outside tables, the staff were all friendly and polite, our server was Gianna who just seems to have a magical personality, I ordered the burger of the week which was this crazy burger with a potato pancake in it and a nice maple syrup flavor, I wasn't sure what I was getting into with this one but it worked and was a nice change of pace, the frys were crisp, the wife ordered the ribs and she seemed happy so that was good for me Lol over all a nice place worth visiting

I rarely leave bad reviews, but the experience at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. The service was painfully slow we waited nearly 45 minutes just to get our appetizers, and the main course took even longer. To make matters worse, when the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and lacked flavor. The staff seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, and no one checked in on us during the long wait. For the prices they charge, I expected much better. Definitely won’t be returning.

We were staying at the Abbey Resort for a babymoon. The vibes of the Waterfront were great considering the view of the harbor is awesome. There was a stage for live music and a bar with high vaulted ceilings. I got a pretty watered down Maple bourbon old fashioned that wasn't mixed at all and came with no stir atick, which was disappointing. I got the prime rib philly. This was smaller than I was expecting, but was not bad and just alright and was what I was expecting flavor wise. Got sweet potato fries as a side and were decent too. My wife got the chicken sandwich, which she didn't finish so I had the rest. The chicken sandwich has barely any of the siracha aioli as advertised and was loaded with to much lime and slaw and left us wanting more. Service was friendly, but when asked for more water the waiter forget and when we were checked on didn't even notice more water was needed. Cool spot with great potential, but left us wanting more.

Definitely pay attention to the reviews. My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary at the Abbey. We decided to have dinner at the Waterfront restaurant after hearing they had live entertainment at night. The food is definitely overpriced. Literally a piece of meat + fries or onion ring for over $35. My husband's steak was very much undercooked. I had ordered the ribs and instead received the fish and chips. We had to wait additional time to get our meals corrected. Definitely not a good experience

Great views and overall atmosphere, however, I had the Friday Fish fry which was surprisingly very bad at a waterfront restaurant. The fish was definitely food service frozen fish, the texture being akin to freezer fish sticks that had just been plopped in the fryer.

Staff was really nice and accommodating and got me something else, but I was surprised at how bad the fish was.

We decided to make the Waterfront our anniversary dinner while staying at the Abbey. It was very disappointing. We asked to sit outside (because rain was not scheduled to come for hours), but were told no one was being seated out there. Not a huge range in food options. The same cheese was used in the loaded tater tots and the Mac and cheese (it seemed). We weren’t asked if we were there for any special reason. Our waiter never checked on us after getting our food. My husband got the chicken sandwich - very dry, little aioli, he only ate half of it. Would NOT recommend.

‼️ ❌ 🚨 Garbage food and even worse service! The hummus appetizer was pathetic. It was comprised of gross fried pig skins and stale dry pita. The hummus itself was not bad but undoubtedly store bought. The fish tacos were gross and cold. The salmon entree was overcooked and slathered in a bright green sauce that looked ooze from Ghostbusters. The fries were quite tasty. Kid’s mac and cheese was old boxed Kraft not even cooked in the pot just microwaved.

The hostess Eleanata was polite and helpful and our server Jorge was fairly decent though he forgot a few things including utensils, no big deal. The two main issues here, aside from the incredibly underwhelming food, are the cleanliness and the rudeness. The place was an absolute pigsty with multiple tables covered in dirty plates and food and napkins and garbage on the floor that just sat there for a full hour while no one did ANYTHING at all as a group of 5 employees just stood around endlessly chatting. We actually had to clean our own table upon arrival and the high chairs were so disgusting I wanted to have my kids sit anywhere else but I cleaned them myself. They were filthy. The manager Chamaron? stood around just texting on his phone when he could have been cleaning, helping his servers, doing anything else. He was far from managerial. But the worst by far - make sure you steer clear of Jackie she has a colossal attitude problem. Definitely belongs in another industry. Beyond incompetent, aggressive and RUDE.

We love The Abbey and have been many times, and have been to Waterfront many times but will NEVER go back to this poorly run dump of a restaurant. NOT RECOMMENDED ‼️

We had a family gathering for lunch a couple of days after Christmas - not exactly high season for the resort. It suited me, as it was rather quiet. There were 11 of us in the party and we did four separate checks. Things got a little messed up, but nothing major - and kind of to be expected with that many checks and people. The service was prompt and professional. The food was hit and miss. The brisket was quite tough for one person, and the wrap for the two of us that had it lacked flavor - it needed a little something. No one else commented. As far as ambiance, you'll like it - right on the water with high windows looking out.

I went with four friends and all of us were highly disappointed in the food. We’ve been coming here for several years for our annual trip and I don’t know that we will return next year. The service was good but the food was awful. No flavor and labeled wrong in the menu. The brisket was dry and tough, the club sandwich was barely toasted if you could even call it that, the cole slaw had no dressing, and they didn’t have salsa for the tacos or quesadilla.

Unfortunately the Waterfront Restaurant was a HUGE disappointment. They had a special on there "Signature BB ribs(half rack)." First these were beef short ribs, grilled and slazzered in what tasted like Baby Rays.
If you expect fall off the bone St. Louis style ribs, not gonna happen.
The meat was flavourless, tuff and had to be ripped off the bone caveman style. As for a half rack, this would not qualify for an appetizer.

I would not recommend them for what they call a "signature" meal.

We are staying at the hotel and had snowed all day. So instead of driving we at at the Waterfront. Thinking the hotel and views are beautiful that the food would be great. But very disappointed I had beer cheese soup and chicken strip that cost 21 dollars for a cup of cheese sauce that I couldn't finish because it was nasty the chicken strips were nothing special but were okay. The girlfriend had a salad that the apples came out brown and the lettuce was also brown. The person setting next to us pulled his bun off because it was burnt. What you pay for the food you would think they would have good food. We have ate in the area with way better food for half the cost. I would not recommend eating at the Waterfront until they figure out the food. The bartender was not that good empty drinks and they were dancing behind the bar. Maybe they need a new manager to get things figured out.

Came here midweek around 6pm for dinner for two. We were seated immediately and waited a bit for the server to come by. Once he did, we put in an order for a fried cheese curd appetizer. Please note, this was a Tuesday in January and the restaurant wasn't busy. 30min later, no appetizer or water refills. I totally forgot to leave review after our end of summer trip Aug 22! I am very sad to see any negative reviews because our family ate at the Waterfront 3 or 4 times during our brief stay and it was always GREAT! We had everything from kids meals, salads, burgers & fun drinks. We interacted with multiple staff including darling, friendly waiters & awesome bartender! People complaining the price is high need to realize that it is NOT that high for a great resort with fabulous view & atmosphere(have you been to fast food places lately😳!) Also the labor shortage made everything tough for places at home & on vacay this summer & I am always grateful for those who show up & these people were smiling & working their butts off in my humble opinion! This place had the worst customer service, my husband and I stopped by to tour so we could consider booking a block of rooms for my daughters wedding. The woman at the front desk suggested we try the food and get a drink. Well it would have been a good idea if someone would have served us. We sat there for 20 min and no one ever came to even bring us water although at least 3-4 people were standing around right in front of us doing nothing and just talking to one another. After they took the orders of two other tables that came in after us we just got up and left. We let the greeter know of our experience and she shrugged her shoulders. I brought a party of 10 locals there on February 3rd. I had an old fashioned which is always served with ice. They charged $17.00. $5.00 was charged for ice. Several people had hard liquor and experienced the same. The sever said they used Makers Mark that I didn’t request. He was told that was the cheapest whiskey. I beg to differ.

What kind of manager helps with nothing in the restaurant the entire night. Does not check on any table or help any server. We dropped a fork and looked around and he did nothing. Manager did nothing when questioned price for $5 Rock up charge on an already $14 drink on my $300 bill for our group and he did nothing. Great location overlooking the harbor at the Abbey Resort. Good food with often excellent entertainment but usually spotty service. Staff is hit or miss, expect to go looking for them because they often walk right by you without taking notice. We eat here 4-6 times a year when we come to see live music.

Do not waste your money at this restaurant. It is extremely disappointing considering it’s one of the few options in this area. The food was terrible and overpriced, service was slow, and prices are way too high for the lack of quality delivered.

Great food and atmosphere. Right on the water. Nice sunset dinner. Our waiter, Jorge, was very patient and made excellent recommendations. The kind of waiter that makes the dining experience what it should be. Eddie, the manager, took the time to come by the table to see how we were doing. Will definitely go back!

Food is terrific, service is awful: slow and unattentive. The Friday Fish Fry is one of my favorites in the area (get the walleye), but if you're hungry you're going to sit a long time.

The brunch on Sunday is so good, especially the bottomless mimosas. The outside view was nice and they had live music. I would definitely come again.

We brought our grandchildren from out of town for lunch. The service was very slow, and only 2 other tables besides ours. Took us 20 minutes to get our drinks after we sat down..I ordered one of your specialty cocktails only to find out you didnt have one of the liquors in stock..unacceptable.. food came out slow and items were left off my plate. Waitress never came back to check on us. Guess next time we will just stay in and grill by the lake ...not worth the money or quality of food.

The views were nice... but not much other than that. We arrived right at opening time and were the only people there for a while. It still took 45 minutes for the food to come out. I ordered the avocado toast and was majorly disappointed. There was only enough avocado smeared on to give it a slight green color. Tried my husbands fries and they were also bland and unimpressive. Way too much money for bad food.

Went for a nice dinner on our anniversary and the atmosphere was not what we expected. We both had club sandwiches, water with an old fashioned each and the bill was 72.00. So we paid for our fancy dinner but, what we had was regular no frills bar food. The staff was friendly and helpful especially our waiter Jorge.

Expensive for what you get. My husband's hamburger was very rare, when he asked for well done. Outdated atmosphere, but nice. Great views outside, and beautiful fire place. Staff is very kind and provide great service.

We waited for an hour for our food while people who got sat after us were already done eating and out the door. Then when it came it was definitely not worth the money. The pulled pork sandwich tasted like it came out of a can and the bloody Mary was disgusting. We paid our bill and went across the street to Chuck's for dinner. Definitely disappointing

We’ve been here several times and usually the place is awesome. That being said it seems as if prices have skyrocketed service sucked waitress seem like she did not want to be there.
Ribs are the only thing I would recommend. There awesome. Definitely trying something else or somewhere else next time I wish Gordy’s was open

Our night was highlighted by the expertise service and fun that Maddy brought to our table. She was professional, enjoyable, and happy to be with us and made our night even more memorable. If you go, ask to sit in her section
