It was OK. I think I wanted to sit by the bar cause it was quiet and people came sat there so drunk and loud I had my granddaughter. The woman was swearing like crazy. She kept apologizing to the bartender for swearing and he said that was OK so she kept it up. Yes I could’ve moved, but we were eating. We went to eat here last night. I ordered a BLT and my husband ordered Philly cheese steak. My BLT was covered in mayo just smothered in nasty.
But my husband philly cheese steak and it was made out of hamburger with very few bits of steak. Mainly all hamburger it was disgusting plus to top it off it was burnt. We aren't from here but have always came to eat here while on work trips. But I can honestly say we won't be back to here again . This isn't the first time our food has been disgusting. I don't know who you hire to cook your food but they should be fired lazy and gross.

The very first time I came here I waited at the front desk for someone to set us. I checked the bar for help but no one was around. I double checked the hours online to make sure the place was open….it was, just no staff in sight, so I left and swore I wouldn’t come back. Unfortunately for me, I did come back in hopes this place wouldn’t pleasantly surprise me. We were greeted by the host and I informed her we were a party of 5. She asked if we needed kids menus, I said “yes, 3 please.” We were seated at a 4-top table with an extra chair on the end and only 3 adult menus. Our server came by to take our drink order and I asked her for kiss menus, she informed me they were inside the adult menus. Ummm…ok, why don’t we have 5 adult menus then?! 🙄 The only gluten free option for my son (that he would eat) was a GF pizza. I figured I would share that with him since it was such a huge size. My BF ordered the gyro. The pizza came out with an absurd amount of cheese piled 2” high on a soggy crust. The pepperonis were hidden underneath. My son ended up scraping off all the cheese and mining for pepperonis and eating the soggy crust. My BFs gyro meat looked like a hamburger patty but overall didn’t taste terrible. My daughters chicken Alfredo was a few noodles swimming in a thick gravy sauce. Needless to say, $100 later we ended up coming home and cooking a second dinner for everyone. Atmosphere was dark and dingy and overrrated. I would not recommend this place…plenty of other places in Wausau to choose from, this one needs to be shut down and forgotten!

We looked online for pizza that wasn't a franchise and found this place.
Someone really went over the top designing the place to look like the inside of a mine. Kinda cool and not very busy on a Wednesday night.
We each had a different 10" pizza, and neither of us was very impressed. The cheese & toppings were good, but the crust was more like cardboard... tough and impossible to keep the toppings from sliding off. Definitely not worth $19 each.
I'd like to give them another chance with something else on the menu.

Always a favorite of mine, especially if I have friends with me from out of town as the atmosphere and decore is awesome here and almost a theme park experience with how it was built. The service was so so, we were waiting for quite a while after being seated and had to flag someone down and remind them we were there. People that came after us got taken care of first. Very cool place to eat. The outside is made to appear like an entrance to an old mine. Once you step inside it does not disappoint! Even the bathrooms were kept in the mining esthetic. The food was even more amazing! We got the golden nuggets YUM! And a special BBQ honey mustard wrap. It was so good! And the kettle chips have a unique seasoning that's all their own. I will say the immediate waitress was friendly and a very wonderful individual. The rest of the place is absolutely terrible. The food is out of a box and you definitely don't have any skill in the kitchen. Obvious issues in the restroom sanitary problems your place. It should be shut down and a sanitary team should be deployed. A 1 rating is not even close. A negative number system should be implemented just because of your restaurant.

The place itself was nice. The decor was something out of the ordinary. The food was OK, and the pasta needed more seasoning. We also ordered nachos, and the menu did state a cheese sauce blend, but you could tell it was just melted shredded cheese. Our waitress was so efficient that she couldn't spare a single smile. Rather, her ice cold energy was purpose driven. Despite it only being an hour and a half to closing, she was focused on an expedited experience. My 76 year old mother tried to get a smile out of her with a rather dry but compelling joke about the lack of shrimp. However, the chilling effect was palpable. We admonished my mother as the lesson was learned that this server was all business. We had not yet finished savoring our delicious cheese curds but she was anxious to clear the serving trays and we felt on notice to comply. We dumped the curds on a napkin, took service of our food and ate like compliant patrons, afraid to make eye contact. Our waitress has the makings of a proper Efficiency Compliance Officer.

The building itself is Unique.
I was invited to dinner and was ecstatic when I was told where we were going. I was visiting from California. I already knew what I wanted because I kept hearing about fish Fry in several places in Wausau. The 20 min. wait was well worth it. Three seconds after sitting our waitress was already greeting us, telling us specials and taking our drink order down. After ordering dinner. My first bite of the Battered Fish was delicious. Definitely surpassed my expectations. I appreciated that the waitress was back at exactly when a five Star restaurant waitress should, making sure everything was good, asking if we needed anything else. Kudos for hiring her. I do apologize for not remembering her name. I'm sure that all waiters are that good. I didn't know this place has been open for a long time and I hear that it's beloved by Wausau. I understand why. Came to take my son out to eat for his end of the year Volleyball Club. Thought of trying here for the first time. Well my family and I waited 20 mins with no service. Waiters and waitresses walked by and didnt even try to look at our direction. Looks like a bunch of racist staff and before anyone says anything I know they saw us because my wife and kids went to the bathroom and walked by them and I could see them look at us from the kitchen area or whatever area they were hanging out. While the staff did their beat to be accommodating, they were unprepared for our large group's reservation. The bartender on last night was flying around the bar serving customers making sure everyone was taken care of like he owned the establishment. Stopped in while traveling. The food was great, the atmosphere was very laid back. Interior is decorated as if inside of a mine.
We had burgers and Italian, highly recommend both! The Alfredo sauce was great, very creamy and cheesy.

Thought it was expensive for the quality of the food. My pizza was pretty salty and average. Tea was overly sweet. Cheese curds were good. Cute decor as if you are in a mine.

Wonderful stop in Wausau. Famous cheesy Italian fries for a reason. Get the large for sharing or 4th meal. I tried the Gyro Melt today and it didn’t disappoint. May want to ask for extra Tzatziki sauce if you’re one that likes ‘em juicy…otherwise the favor of the meat was exactly what I was hoping, the sub warm and crisp, and the ingredients fresh and tasty. Shout out to our waitress for hooking this weirdo up with decaf coffee!
