We had a large (~85 people) baby shower here today and it couldn’t have gone more perfectly! Josh and Dion took the best care of us, were great communicators, and made sure everything went off without a hitch. They accommodated all of our requests and were super attentive to all of our needs. Everybody loved the food! We couldn’t have asked for a better party!

Came here about a month ago and sat for over 15 minutes without a server even looking at us (same for the entire section we sat in). We had to track down someone to even get our drink order. The only person we could even find was the bartender.

Came again today and sat outside (near other people) for 15 minutes without a single worker acknowledging we were there. Went inside to sit at the main bar and try and order food and drinks. Three workers talking in the corner and no one behind the bar. Again, sat for 10 minutes with no one even making eye contact.

I’ve honestly never had such consistently horrible service. When you get your food, it’s actually good, but good luck getting to that point.

Unfortunately this is the last time we’ll give Waverly a chance.

I was there a couple weeks ago. Hadn't been there since new owners. We just stopped in to have a Virgin Mary. It was without a doubt the worst one we've ever had and I'm pretty positive a Bloody Mary would be just as bad. IF YOU LIKE THIS DRINK GO ELSEWHERE! There is no taste to it whatsoever! It was like drinking ice water with a tiny splash of tomato juice. And no spice to it at all. So basically like drinking tinted ice water. AWFUL. They need to invest in a decent quality mix or teach the bar how to make decent from scratch. But really there are some excellent mixes to buy. With the prices you're charging out there please give quality. We always enjoyed the view there. But not attracted by your drinks or food prices. We left without eating to go to a place that may not have the view- but to have great food for more reasonable prices for what you actually get.

We were one of the first groups to get try there at 11:45 am. Only two other groups were seated and one was eating. It took 20 minutes for some to ask what we wanted to drink and then took 15-20 minutes to get the drinks and she forgot one which took another 10 minutes to get that and place our orders. The food came out relatively fast and was hot. When we were done, we had to find her to pay our bill.
This wasn't all her fault. They only had one server for all the groups, but we were at try he bottom for service.

I am extremely pleased to have found this restaurant on a Friday evening. I was super excited to try the Beer battered cod supper. This venue is so pleasing and offers numerous amenities, such as live music daily, cornhole, an outdoor bar area, a spacious patio, and two large bars indoors. Located on Lake Winnebago, it has a beautiful waterfront area. The bartender was enjoyable. The food was very tasty! Fun place to bring the entire family!

This was my first time eating here. I ordered a bacon and Bleu cheese burger, and it was so good. There was a loud reggae band playing called Luma Knotty. They were good, but we were too close and it was so loud that I couldn't hear the person speaking right next to me. The service was great and the waitresses were all beautiful and had good personalities. We are outside and there were some bees flying by out tables. I met a group there. Overall, it was a good time and I will definitely do it again.

Got a drink at the bar whiskey old fashion sweet bar tender told me to grow up because I wanted my cherries in the drink was not pleased but the drink was great so I ordered another one down in the hall as I was there for a wedding needless to say the second drink I got was nothing like the first drink it was definetly sub par but the bar tender was way more friendly so bad server equals good drink k good server means mediocre drink. The food at the wedding was okay the brisket was good, little dry,the salad was good the veggies were nice and fresh the mac was good. The out door gazebo was a great touch with all the wind we had that day it shelter area was a great place to be under not alot of wind traveled through the wedding. I would go back for the atmosphere and on a different day to re try the food and service

I can say that the staff here is amazing! I got caught on the lake on a windy day for four hours kayaking and almost didn't make it back shore. The wind had blown me miles off course. I made it to Waverly Beach where I got the help I needed. When my husband found out what happened later he was excited because he said they have very good food! Lol. Will see them for supper soon!

Get ready to drop some money if you choose to dine and drink here. Food is really good, but a little on the pricey side for the serving size. But the drinks are WAY overpriced. A friend got two Carbliss, and was charged $9.50 FOR EACH ONE!! Another friend got a gin and tonic and it was $8.

Not sure if they're understaffed or if our waitress was just overwhelmed, but service was slow. Granted, it was "Singo" night, and they were busy, but after telling us she'd be right back to take our order, she took 2 other tables' order and then seemed irritated when we asked if we could please order. Then later, I wanted to order a mocktail and asked what she recommended. She said "I don't ever drink here, I don't know". She brought me a regular drink menu and 10 minutes later, she asked what I wanted. When I said I was looking for a mocktail menu, she said "most of these can be made as mocktails" and then walked away. And never came back. It took three of our party to stand by our table with our cards out before she approached again, 20+ minutes later, and then had to go split our bills before we could finally leave.

Overall, I don't think I'd come back on a night where there's something happening, if at all. It's not worth it to me to overpay for food and drinks for abysmal service.

We received friendly, attentive service from our lovely server, Kylee. The Waverly is located on the lake, and it's set up to take full advantage of being on the water. Very disappointed in service and we were offered a salad as a choice of a side, but did not see or was not told there was an extra charge of $3.00 for a ridiculously small salad. When I asked to speak to the manager, he did not seem to care again just pointing out that it was on the menu. I again said fine, but the waitress should have also told us. There was no offer to take the three dollars off of the receipt. In my opinion, this is poor poor customer service. If you cared about your customers and the word that can be spread about your business $3.00 would have been important to take off the customers bill.

It was difficult to hear the solo performance in the back area. The DJ had the bass turned up, to the point where it was distracting for those of us that were there to listen to Lillie.

The menu shows it being served with a pineapple.
My first one had 3 cherries and an orange. No big deal. I love cherries and the orange was a nice touch.
The second one was just the orange. Okay so did they run out of cherries?
Third one nothing. No orange, no cherries, and that elusive pineapple never made an appearance.
Normally I would contact the business but aside from calling, the contact is form does not work so here we are. I also could have asked the bartender but the last time I did that out by the tiki bar the response was a wordless tossing of my drink and making a new, yet still incorrect, drink.

Our experience at this restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing. We started by ordering a starter, expecting it to come out ahead of our meal as usual. About 10 minutes later, our server returned and asked if we needed more time for our entrée order. We said we still needed more time for the Entre order.

Another 20 minutes passed—still no starter—and the waitress returned to take our entrée order. Finally, after a total of 30 minutes, both our starter and entrées were brought out at the same time. The starter was underwhelming, and not once did anyone acknowledge or apologize for the poor timing or service.

No adjustments were made to the bill, and the lack of communication and basic customer service made the experience frustrating. Based on this visit, we won’t be returning.

Completely disappointed. We arrived at opening at 1100. The calamari looked as if it was from the night before, and put through the fry-o-lator. It was chewy, and almost burnt. The peppers on top were wilted and not even fresh. The seafood chowder was a joke, made of mostly of corn and a few pieces of imitation crab. My chicken Cranberry pecan salad, was despicable. The chicken was not real, it was Purdue's already made chicken strips. 2 corona beers=$13 1 Cranberry vodka=$9 which tasted like only Cranberry juice. The bartender did acknowledge the calamari and took 1/2 off. Paid over $90 for the worst meal of my life. Guess you're paying for the amazing view. I will never return to this establishment. Came for the second time with an out of town family member. 1st visit since last year. Woah, they've got a lot to work on still.
1st thing, they need maintenance or janitors to address the goose poop. Cleaned twice daily.
Second, pick up the trash in the rocks, trash in sand where children play at the playscape and on the floor of the restaurant inside.
Lastly, service staff need serious training! No water given with meal, not appropriate number of utensils given, butter for bread absent... in general there seems to be a lack of care and experience.
Waverly, you've got the ambiance with the location and live music, but unless these other items are addressed, you're going to become known as an overpriced, dirty tourist trap.

We went with a large group and made reservations far in advanced. Our waitress was horrible…down right TERRIBLE. She was short, snippy, rude, I asked for a Diet Coke she said okay then brought and served me a Diet Pepsi without telling me and when confronted she said “yeah well we don’t have Diet Coke” never came back to check on us, forgot items we had asked for, didn’t refill drinks, didn’t clear any plates, and when it came time to pay we had to stand up find her walk over and pay. Mother’s Day Brunch Disappointment – Not Worth the Price

We attended the Mother's Day brunch at Waverly Beach with our family and spent nearly $275 for five of us—all charged adult prices. The menu looked promising, and the setting was beautiful, but the experience fell far short of expectations.

When we arrived, we were told they were out of prime rib, yet the price remained the same. Many buffet items were depleted or looked like they had been sitting out for hours. The deviled eggs were overly vinegary, the pasta salad was gone, the fruit and veggie trays were nearly empty, and several hot items—like the broasted chicken and stuffing—were cold, dry, or hard. I even found a long hair in one of the chicken pieces, and no one refreshed or removed it. The mashed potatoes and baked fish were the only items that were somewhat decent.

Soda and juice weren’t included and were charged as an additional fee, which wasn’t communicated clearly and added to the already high cost.

While the buffet technically continued and families were still coming in, staff began tearing down the Mother’s Day decorations, which made the experience feel rushed and forgotten.

My entire family was disappointed. My husband actually tried to warn us not to go—he said it was going to be terrible. I insisted because Waverly Beach is known for its great food and beautiful location. I even talked it up to my stepdaughter, who had never been there before, and now I’ve completely lost all credibility when it comes to suggesting restaurants. She was underwhelmed, I was embarrassed, and worst of all—my husband was right.

This was, without question, the most expensive and most disappointing Mother’s Day meal we’ve ever had. We will not return and absolutely cannot recommend this to others—especially at this price point.

The reason I have to share this is the fact we had NO SERVICE after sitting at a table for 15 minutes. My daughter, husband and I went there to celebrate my husband's birthday. Not ONE member of the wait staff approached us or even looked at us. We got there at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, October 4. It wasn't too crowded yet and we counted 7 wait staff in and around the bar. One member of the wait staff walked by our table NUMEROUS times and not once looked at us or even said "Someone will be with you soon...." We were so disappointed because we've only heard good things about the new and improved Waverly Beach. So unacceptable. We ended up leaving and went over to El Jaripeos. We had our son’s wedding there this past weekend. I have nothing but good things to say about the food, the staff and the facilities. We had about 280 guests and went with the family style meal with chicken and beef tips. Everyone was raving about how good the food was. The staff followed up with the table service so well. I know they add a 3 or so percent more if paying with a credit card, So I paid with cash. Never got a receipt either. Come to find out the amount quoted to me that I owed had the extra credit card fee already added. I paid cash, but my bill didn’t change! So she just kept the extra amount. My friend was driving and inquired if had nonalcoholic selection (no). Ashtrays were full we emptied. Just a thought put fence around play area. Kids less than 5yrs old were wondering off near those rocks by water. Hate to see one stubble crack head open or possibly go into water. Great remodeling job..beautiful view , pesto fries came out cold,reorder hot ...was delish,!...got the wrong bill for our pizza...15.99 and 3.00 extra for each topping...on a pre-made cardboard crust...not worth it...Jack's would have been better...go if you want the pesto fries... IF you put that much money into building...HIRE GOOD COOK STAFF !!

Ordered the Nachos, the chips were stale. Wife ordered a daiquiri and it wasn't made correctly. $6.75 for a bottle of blue moon. No napkins or water offered with dinner. No interaction from the bar tender at all. Often sitting on their phone. Will not go back.

The only thing this place has going for it is the location. The food was not good and definitely not worth the price. The perch and tots were cold. The tater tots tasted like they were from yesterday. The flatbread had decent flavor, but was also cold. Our drinks were just okay. Not worth the price tag.

We used to be regular customers, but we will never be back. Absolutely horrible. There were about three other customers in the entire place and a lot of staff all sitting at the end of the bar on their phones, not paying attention to anyone. We had to set up our own table. When something spilled, they said they didn’t have a bar rag to pick it up so we had to find our own stuff to pick it up with. Nobody would give us an umbrella because they were not paying any attention so we had to do that ourselves. When we asked for the bill, they said to come up to the bar to get the bill. One of the meals was forgotten for 45 minutes after we asked for it twice. When we asked for to go by boxes, they didn’t even work right -there was no tabs on them to keep them shut. don’t waste your money on this place and most of all don’t waste your valuable time. I have to add this to my review that someone from Waverly did respond asking for my contact info which I did twice but have heard nothing. I noticed that’s how they respond to other reviews must be a way to make it look like they’re doing. I feel duped out of almost $100

Perch was over done & loaded with bones.
I loved location, music too loud to hear waves lapping - ok during rush hours but mid-afternoon leisurely late lunch, make the most of location!

An meinem letzten Tag meines USA Urlaubs bin ich von meinem Kumpel noch mit zu Waverly Beach genommen worden und ich muss sagen, dass der Laden sich deutlich verändert hat seit ich das letzte Mal da war (2019), denn er ist viel größer als ich ihn Erinnerung hatte.

Das Wetter war perfekt für einen August Abend am Lake Winnebago.
Wie saßen direkt an der Bar. Dort hatten wir eine tolle Bedienung mit der wir viel geredet und gelacht haben.
Einige der Cocktails sind on Tap und daher schnell zu haben. Sie sind jetzt nichts besonderes, passen aber zum Laden beziehungsweise zu einem richtig warmen Sommerabend in Wisconsin.
Wir hatten noch das Glück das ein Sänger da war, der Live gesungen hat, was den Abend komplettiert hat und für eine tolle Atmosphäre gesorgt hat.
Der Warm Spinach & Artichocke Dip war echt etwas Neues für mich. Sehr empfehlenswert. Die Bruschetta war auch interessant, da die Textur des Mozzarellas eine komplett andere (weichere, sanftere) war, als ich sie aus Deutschland kenne.

Wenn man im Sommer in Wisconsin ist: Unbedingt mal vorbeischauen.

Waitress was great, food wasn't done. Expensive!!! One elk burger sandwich and 7 beers(3 Busch lights, 4 corona) bill= $67. It was too expensive for my taste. I'm blue collar, this place isn't for me. It used to be, but new renovations gotta be paid for somehow and apparently that gets passed down to customers, and I'm not impressed enough to go back. The funny thing is prices change depending on season... summer boaters pay more than winter riffraff. Go in winter.

Update: as you can see from comment they wanted me to contact them....I did and received no response. To be fair, I didn't contact them immediately, but I did contact them. I suppose it's supposed to look like they cared. I won't be back!

Love the atmosphere, location, and service. The staff is very friendly. The outdoor seating is best in Appleton. The food however is NOT good haha. Too bland, not salty enough, and not enough choices. I wouldn’t come here for the food. I’d come here for the atmosphere and drinks.

We had lunch 8/7 with a very large group ~20+people~ and our experience was wonderful. Our waitress ~Heather~ was the best waitress we have ever had. She had over 12 tickets going for one group and not a single complaint from anyone in the group. Heather was patient, friendly, helpful, on top of drinks needed etc. Management — Heather should be training every service worker you have. She makes waiting on a large group look easy and we all know it is not. My bruschetta was good but my husband’s elk burger was fantastic.

Earlier today I enjoyed a meal at Waverly. Considering I have a ton of allergies it can be very difficult for me to eat out. But luckily I had an amazing waitress named Adela. She was super kind and very understanding about my allergies which my entire experience that much better. Easily the best waitress I have ever had!!!

We went out to dinner here tonight. Our waitress mess up part of our order. She was not the one to bring it to the table and when we said it was wrong it took 15 minutes for our waitress to come back over. I told her that part of our order wasn’t correct and she said I know I have made the changes to get to fixed. I said well can we get this just taken off. And she said yes the wrong order is taken off but what you ordered is being made so that will be on your bill. I said well we are meeting a bus so can it just be canceled and take off and she replied with “ no I changed it already. I would have to eat it if I cancel it” it was her mess up and did not help us in anyway. Yes we got two meals for the price of one but that’s besides the point. She did not have great costume service and we will not be going back any time soon. She needs to learn how to be a waitress and understand when she messed up and take responsibility.

Bar tender was extremely rude after flagging down to get a drink. He continued to make loud rude remakes about situation to other customers the entire time we were there. Drinks were good but refused to get food due to terrible service. Additionally, there were dirty tables that were never picked up and clean although many staff were standing around and going on smoke breaks for the hour that we were here.

Great remodel. Great seating setup. The menu is definitely expansive. I was there on a Friday afternoon. And I ordered their cod fish fry. They definitely need to work on the breading. It was way overdone. And it was more breading than fish. Other than that the experience was great The atmosphere was awesome and the service was perfect.

Worst service I have had in many years! My wife and I have never been to Waverly Beach, but after seeing beautiful pictures online and being right on the lake, we decided to go on a Saturday afternoon. We traveled down from the Green Bay area where we reside. When we arrived we were quite impressed with the facility. Very clean, spacious and an impressive outdoors venue as well. We were going to sit at a table, but then chose to sit at the outside tiki bar. We were greeted right away and my wife received her drink promptly. I was still undecided and that's when everything changed. I'm not sure if there was a shift change, but after mass chaos, employees arguing with one another and being ignored for about 15-20 minutes I decided to go inside and order a beer. I got a beer promptly and then asked a waitress if I could leave my drink at a table outside near the front of the outside of the restaurant itself which seemed less chaotic than the outside bar. She said she would watch it for me until I went to cash out where my wife was sitting at the bar and bring her back to where my drink was at the new table. I then went back to the tiki bar and flagged down the original bartender to cash out for my wife's drink. She seemed alarmed and forgot who we were. We went over to the new table but my beer was gone and another customer sitting at a table right next to "ours" said he saw a waitress grab my beer off the table. I went inside the restaurant to ask for another beer because mine was dumped out as my wife sat outside. I got a new beer (after explaining what has happened) by the server who said they would initially watch my beer and then went back to see my wife, who said she was greeted by a snotty waitress who said the table we were sitting at was only if you order food, which we had originally intended to do, but not now, or ever again. The other customer also informed my wife that this waitress was the one who grabbed my beer off the table. It just seemed everywhere I went in the restaurant, that the employees were in dismay and arguing with each other about leaving from their existing shifts. I worked in many restaurants in my earlier years, but no matter how chaotic things seem to get, you never leave the customer hanging. All we wanted to do was come out and enjoy a drink, some food and the atmosphere. Beautiful facility and location on the lake, but come on man, get your crap together! I'll take my business to an establishment that actually knows how to care for it's customers, because this place definitely does not. It's not worth the drive to feel this unimpressed.

Overall good experience! Got the grilled salmon which was pretty good, they didn’t have chocolate milk but my server Salena made some even better. I’m not a big drinker so I appreciate the non-alcoholic options. I recommend eating outside by the water, would go again.

My friend and I were very disappointed with our service. We waited over 15 mins for someone to greet us. We had to go to the bar to ask for service. The waitress came to our table and threw the menus on our table. Didn't say sorry for the wait. She brought our drinks and the walked away even though we were ready to order. She didn't say thank you or sorry the entire time. We talked to the manager and he apologized and gave us gift cards at least.

I have came their 2 separate times with being new to the area had amazing service from this handsome think his name was Kevin his service was top notch but the wait time on the food and the actually food quality was sub bar but my husband loved the atmosphere and being able to see the water with such amazing views. We order the captain burger and sweet heat which was good quality. Environment is good with the live music but the drink are very over priced. Decided to come back just because how much he loved the view and it was father day had Heather with red hair as my server and service went down and food was worst by far will not be coming back to this place every again

Food was subpar. Liked my wrap, others did not enjoy their food. Chicken on nachos was extremely dried out and non-edible, flatbread pizza was overcooked.

Service was nonexistent. Had to go find our own plates, and napkins. When food was delivered, we asked for another round of drinks; never arrived. Ended going to bar and getting drinks after about thirty minutes.

Atmosphere was very nice. Think the prices were very high, joke around table was they need to pay for the remodel.

Next time we come to enjoy the environment/band/location we will be eating elsewhere prior and using the bar to get our drinks.

Attended mothers day brunch. Food was not that good. Food was dry tasteless. I tried shrimp salmon and cod did not like cod fishy taste. Food quality not up to my standards. Fries were ok. We were visiting for a banquet. It was a homestyle meal and was good. The facilities are very nice and the location is beautiful.
Our banquet server was not pleasant at all. Guests at our table greeted her when she brought the first few plates and she ignored them. When we asked for more of anything she refused to bring us any more if there was a tiny bit left on the original dish. Wouldn’t give us fresh gravy because there were a few drops left in the old one which had gone cold by the time we got more food. Six of us at the table and only one plate of chicken, potatoes, stuffing, corn, and gravy. By the time we got anything else dinner was over.
Three stars for service because the staff in the upper bar area were friendly and accommodating.

The location is pretty much overpriced. On another occasion I was over charged due to 2 servers not conlmmunicating and was charge for someone else's bill. With a beautiful view from the north shore of Lake Winnebego, this very large complex combines sports bar, wedding hall, and restaurant, and could be a destination restaurant were it not for rather bland food and the non-cosy dining area. It is best used for reunions of 200+ people, which it could easily handle. The service was good and prompt, and maintenance and cleanliness excellent.

Our first time here in a couple years. The renovation is very nice, adding to the atmosphere.

I was rather disappointed in the food and the prices. While the pizza was good I was stunned at the cost of each ingredient beyond the one included. I also ordered French Onion soup, unfortunately it was served at room temperature and was extremely salty. I appreciated the fact that when I sent it back, they adjusted the bill.

I will likely give them another try but it may be a while.
