Food was decent but felt overpriced for taste / quality. Service was fantastic, quality staff that accommodated my kids. Lots of N/A options for husband and I.

My family and I visited Welcker’s on 3/7 for dinner. The atmosphere and service were great. However, the food was honestly terrible. I truly hate to say this about any restaurant, but, given how much they charge for their food, they need to improve. The ribs on the appetizer list were tough and low in flavor. The walleye entree tasted weeks old. The crab cakes tasted like they were made with canned crab. The salad was gritty (dirty). Even the kids burger was bad. We honestly had nothing that tasted good. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars in hopes they simply improve or had a bad night. It’s a great spot, but the food on our visit was very subpar.

This is a beautiful restaurant with tons of great atmosphere. You could sit in the piano room/bar, where there was live music the night I was there. I was dining alone, and I chose the porch, which was beautiful. I could still hear the music, but I could also enjoy the ambience of the beautiful summer night outside.
I had the scallops. $45 for five of them, but it includes two sides. My server recommended the au gratin potatoes and the carrots. The potatoes were a little too over-cooked, so crusty my knife and fork couldn’t even cut them. Carrots were fine and the scallops were quite wonderful. I paired them with a glass of the house Chardonnay.
The host who sat me down was quite gracious and nice. I wish my server had been even half as friendly, had smiled at me at least once, and had tried to meet my eyes at least once, but he did not do any of those things. He was not at all interested in me as anyone other than a source of income. Perhaps he was having a bad night.
But I might go back here for the food and the beauty and the restaurant’s close proximity to everything else in Fish Creek. I don’t mind paying high prices for a good meal. That night I paid $87 including the entree, dessert (crème brule) one glass of wine and tip.

This visit I had the crabcakes, absolutely delicious! Perfectly done, I would definitely order these again. Steve and Lisa have really made this place the "swankiest" joint in town with great atmosphere, people, drinks, food, and entertainment. I definitely recommend a visit to Welcker’s Lounge. It's my destination spot! Thanks again Lisa, Steve, Kate, Ryan, and everyone for a special evening. 🤩

Visited with the family for dinner. Ambience was really great. The servers dress up flapper style. Live piano music good decor. The hostess was really nice. If their food was around $20-$30 price point I’d say it was good But for $40 and more a meal it was not worth it. Bathtub drink was $18 which was super fun. My walleye was fishy. The ribs were not tender/fall off the bone and pretty tough. The tuna appetizer was good. I liked the mayo on there. It was good too. Came with a little bit of wild rice, which was nice. The grouper was the best meal of the table that I would recommend that was flaky and fresh. My husband had the scallops were a little underdone. or one for sure was underdone and they were okay. - sides weren’t real hot, kinda lukewarm all around. My advice go for a round of drinks- super fun. For the price you can find really great food around for half the price. Service was a little underwhelming. My husband had to go up to the bar for drinks. His water was empty long time. Other beverages were empty for a while before getting refilled. We are in and out of there for dinner in about one hour. If you dine here expect to spend $50 and up with a beverage.

Since the restaurant opened for the season I have eaten dinner there 4 to 5 nights a week. My family will tell you Im the world’s worst food critic. I hate getting served food that is not prepared correctly and I never give second chances to correct it and I won’t go back
Welckers has been an absolutely an amazing dinning experience my food is always served hot it’s always perfect. When I read bad reviews all I do is shake my head and say they are so wrong
I have had the walleye 30 times it’s my favorite meal. The stir fry is great and the steaks are incredible
You have to try it thanks to the owners and staff

Food was very expensive and wasn’t good at all. They claim the sides and dressings are homemade. It tastes like they store brought and microwaved sides. The service wasn’t great, felt like they didn’t want us there. Save the money and go to any other restaurant.

Save your money and go any place but here. A group of us came in and I don’t think one of us liked our food. The steak was chewy, the sides tasted like they were from a bag and very under seasoned, the pretzel was gross and dry… how do you mess up a pretzel. The ranch that they claim is homemade is definitely not homemade. Service wasn’t up to par for prices but since it was a group of people they automatically put a tip on. Worst experience of the trip and way overpriced.

The drinks are extremely overpriced and not mixed to "speakeasy" quality. The pretzel was dry and the cheese tasted like bagged cheese from a stadium. The lamb was underseasoned and overcooked. The sides tasted pre-prepared/microwaved and were underwhelming. The duck was the only good thing we ate.
The service and environment were redeeming, but this was extremely disappointing for the price.

Beautiful place and great service. Food was bland. I had the scallops which had no flavor but were cooked perfectly, and I had the butternut squash side was way over seasoned. My husband had to send his steak back as it was too rare, and then it was mostly flavorless. But the cut of meat was great. We enjoyed the piano player and the ambiance but the food was too expensive to be average.

Loud love music, very friendly hostess but very absent server, ordered the salmon and filet mignon. Portion sizes were overpriced for their small size, and everything (even the loaded potatoes, cheesy potatoes, rice, veggies, and steak, were overly dry). The filet mignon has the right color in the middle, but no flavor, and way overdone on the edges.
Waited an hour, and was unimpressed, especially by the $18 seasonal drinks for which prices were not listed.
Seemed like more of a bar scene, not a great spot for food or kids.

For what they are charging, you would expect a decent experience or quality in food/drinks. A group of us came here for dinner. All of our cocktails were very unbalanced, and one of us ordered lemonade, which was just sour mix and water, not even drinkable. Two of these meals came out incorrectly. Steak and chicken were cooked properly, which was the only reason I didn't walk out. The way they plated made different sauces from sides to soak into meat and ruined flavor.

The food was great, if it was not for the owner being such a nice guy and talking to us I would have left only one. It was not busy when we were there, our waitress paid more attention to the other couple seated behind us (and came in after us too), none of the wait staff check on us and kind of made us feel unwelcome.
Go for the food, not the customer service!

The food was absolutely delicious!! Everything from the appetizers, the soup, and dinner was so good! We were stuffed leaving. I was very excited for the soup of the day - red pepper Gouda soup, this is my all time favorite! And we ate a homemade recipe cherry cheesecake that was soooo perfect, especially for door county :) We had a variety of entrees, chicken, steak, seafood and salmon, everything was cooked perfect and very good. I recommend the covered porch, you can still hear the live music, and get the great ambiance of string lights and the beautiful weather. The staff stopped by to check on our table, and was so nice! Highly recommend and I can’t wait to come back to share with more friends.

The fact that this is open until 10pm (September 7th) while other places close two hours earlier ALONE makes this 5 stars to me, but the hospitality was great and the atmosphere was very cute. We got the pretzel, prime rib and salmon, and the pretzel was okay (the honey mustard it came with was the best I've ever had however), the prime rib was a 12-14 ounce cut but as prime often is, over half of it was fat (though very tasty what we did get) and the salmon was a little dry but also good. Carrots and mashed potatoes were great, avoid the au gratin potatoes (very bland, and somehow not very cheesy). Overall still 5 star experience in my opinion

What a great dinner we had here! The portions were large, with each dish filled with flavors. I loved the Whitefish and the special sauce for dipping that the chef prepared with a bit of spice for extra pop. My wife loved her salmon dish. Sides were delicious too, especially the roasted carrots and scalloped potatoes. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had an incredible meal, the steak & shrimp were particular favorites. We appreciated that the chef came out to thank us for dining at Welckers and spent time chatting with us. The only thing that could have been better was that our waiter didn’t seem interested in offering us extras (like drink recommendations or dessert options)- we would have happily spent more money had he done more to tell us options. This was minor and we will be back soon!

Stop at Welcker's by chance when another plan didn't work out. It is a pretty swanky 20's style throw back high-end restaurant. The service was friendly, and they had a live piano player on our stop. They have a decent drink list and they muddle their old fashioneds.fashioned. The salmon and walleye were great. The chicken and the prime were both really tasty but a little dry. The bar area looked awesome and the 3 season patio where we sat was great.

Some great some just okay from first time at Welcker’s.
Atmosphere is top notch and we were greeted at the door and given a great table without a reservation immediately. Live music was fantastic and really helped fill the ambiance of the space.
My wife and I split plated the scallops with me getting the au gratin potatoes and green beans, my wife getting the garlic mashed and carrots.
The au gratin potatoes were the best part of the meal. All of our other sides were lacking in seasoning and flavor. Cooked well but could have used salt, sauce, butter… something. The green beans tasted like they had been steamed and served. Carrots had a beautiful char but tasted as if they had been charred and someone slapped on some raw honey after.
The scallops came to the table looking great but were chewy and again lacked flavor. The macadamia nut dusting was nice but it all tasted as if it had been seared on high without seasoning and served.
We each hand a cocktail, the bees knees and the hitman. My wife slightly enjoyed the hitman but the bees knees was pretty bad. Essentially a bad gin martini. No lemon juice or honey syrup came through at all and then to find it was $17 when getting the bill added to the disappointment. For reference have had many many many bee knees at Wickman House (RIP) that were to die for and weren’t as pricey.
I will say I could have gotten out of my seat to get my servers attention or someone from
the wait staffs attention to address these issues. So in a way I will take blame. In the same sentiment our server was never at our table long enough to get more than a half word in before she flew away. She was nice but definitely didn’t have time for us.
Overall excited that Door County has what appears to be a fun, exciting new place to eat and drink with great vibes but disappointed in our specific experience. Would be willing to try again during our next visit or at least come back for a beer and live music.

The entire staff (especially our waitress) were extremely attentive and kind. The atmosphere at night was wonderful with beautiful lighting and a great view outside (in the veranda). The food itself was absolutely delicious! It was some of the best seafood we’ve had in a long time! The sides are also SO good. If you stick around for dessert you need to get the cheesecake, it was honestly the best I think I’ve ever had! The staff went above and beyond to make our night memorable! Welcker’s Lounge should be a great place, it seems like it will be, but it really doesn’t deliver. The ambiance is great, before the piano started playing so loud that no one could hear a thing. The kitchen smells great, but the steaks were all rare and the duck was dry. We had them put one streak back on and it came back the same. They were all tough to cut. The waitress was friendly but then left empty salad plates in front of us until the meal was brought out. She seemed like she never waitressed before missing basic fundamentals. One member ordered the scalloped potatoes and the root vegetables and didn’t realize they were nearly identical with different cheeses, a more experienced hand might have mentioned that. Finally getting the bill with a QR code to enter our card number ourselves might seem secure to some but it clashed with the prices and vibe of the restaurant.

Eat here and not at the fish boil place across the street. Welcker's is far better in every way. The sea scallops with macadamia nuts were delightful. The prime rib was generous and exceptional. And my husband loved his crispy duck. The background music was very pleasant, and our waitresses had attractive flapper dresses on. There are affordable wine options on the menu if you wish to buy a bottle. We would definitely eat here again. I wish there were a ramp to enter, as there appears to be no disabled entry.

Located in the Whistling Swan Inn, Welcker's Lounge had the best drinks we had all weekend!
We stopped in while we were shopping the area and we have to say that we love the creative drinks (especially the Bathtub Gin cocktail), beautiful speakeasy feel, and Steve (the owner) was one of the nicest people we met during the weekend. The drinks were perfectly mixed and the food being cooked in the back smelled amazing!
We will definitely be back next time to eat and enjoy the live music. If you are in the area, this place is a MUST TRY!

I rarely write a review , but this was a true "dining experience ". From the craft cocktails ( one of mine was on fire!);. To perfectly seasoned crab cakes, and they were not kidding when the recommended the Side Chick. The cherry sauce was divine, especially when I dipped the brie au Gratin potatoes in it.
The delightful and attentive staff really made the dinner extra special with there flapper style uniforms. And all of this took place while a live pianist serenaded us with beautiful music. I say dining nirvana!

Had an amazing time! The atmosphere is fantastic and fun. the drinks are all themed. Recommend the Bathtub Gin for how it's served. And take some Mugshots and live on in infamy on their Instagram.
Outside of the drinks the food was next level. Amazing New York Strip and the sides were equally as good. Those carrots..yum! you could tell everything was fresh and local.
The staff was super nice and interactive (and dressed in their 1920s best!). the chef came out to make sure our meal was good. We learned about the history of thr property.
This place was not busy...actually kind of dead for a Friday night. They deserve all the business and we'll definitely be back!

I had scallops. They were perfectly done. They were served over herded au gratin potatoes. The potatoes were delicious but rather al dente.
The braised beef short ribs appetizer was incredible. We also had the cheese board. I'd skip that, it wasn't special.
I like the history of the building and how they have tied the history with their music and wait staff clothing.
It's pricey, but well worth it for a special evening and a contrast to bar food.

Where do I begin with this atrocity?
Let’s start with the food. If you like unseasoned and bland food, this place is for you! STAY AWAY from the stir fry. My bowl of cheerios I had this morning had more flavor. Frozen vegetables and overcooked rice, yuck! My wife had the filet and it was average at best; lacked flavor and the selection of sides were more to be desired. Ended up leaving and throwing some frozen pizzas in the oven which had much more flavor than what we had.
The atmosphere is very nice, fun and quaint. No piano player which was a bummer but not a deal breaker.
I’m not sure our waitress even knew what day of the week it was. The service was lackluster and frustrating to say the least. Also failed to tell us that soft drinks were not free refills. Pretty petty move if you ask me.
We really wanted to love this place but we left severely disappointed. Never again and STAY AWAY.

We were so disappointed. We wanted to love this place. The service was pretty good although they didn’t check in very often. The vibe is nice and that is where the experience ends. We ordered The Chump. Only chump here was us. Obviously frozen calamari that was rubbery and the tentacles almost burnt. By boyfriend had the Chilean Sea Bass and said it was “pretty good”. Rice and broccoli were almost cold. I got the filet. Someone please tell these people what a filet is! The meat was cooked perfectly but I had to saw through the meat to get a bite. This reminded me more of top sirloin than a filet. The haricot verte we’re almost cool and not seasoned. The au gratin potatoes were passable but nothing special. This place has great potential and I hope they make the changes to succeed.

TLDR: Mediocre - the food, service and atmosphere was not woth the $100.
We've been coming to the Whistling Swan for date night dinner for almost a decade & decided to try this out since it's at the same location. I was ready to spend $100-$200 but we didn't & skipped out quickly.
Service: Mediocre
-Waitor didn't care to be there and it showed - no welcome, no smile, please, or thank you etc. This was the first significant annoyance
-He was wearing baggy pants, unshaven, white tennis shoes that were muddy.
-our waitor was at the bar on his phone while we had finished and were looking for the bill
-but... we got the food quickly
Food: Ok to poor
-Filet mignon was poor, well-done with no browning when medium was requested. The dryness was only compensated by how much butter was available in the mashed potatoes. To be honest, I don't think the cut was a filet mignon.. or it had been precooked and was being slow roasted - $55.
-Half chicken was undercooked in parts where my wife didn’t feel conforable eating it - au gratin potatoes very dry.
-Rose wine was stale. Offer fewer options if you don't go through it within a day.
-Broccoli was terrible - stocks hard, head was mush, appearances of char, zero seasoning - idk how they achieved this.
Atmosphere: They tried
-Restaurant smelled of faint bar rag, but you get used to it.
-You can see what style they're attempting, but there are still remnants and it ends up feeling Prohibition / Coastal / Bed&Breakfast theme.
-The cook was seen sitting at the chairs in the hotel lobby on his phone while we passed tables waiting for their food.

First time at Welker's but definitely not the last.
We miss the Whistling Swan restaurant but Welker's has filled a gap in the Door County dining scene. Certainly more casual cuisine but excellent presentation and quality
The potatoes au gratin with brie was an outstanding side dish. The lamb chops we cooked to perfection and the calamari wad to die for.
Definitely worth a try.

This new restaurant in an old historic building is now my favorite Door C place to dine out. The atmosphere is delightful and romantic, the food is superb and the excellent service is just what you would wish for. I had my favorite meal - delicious gingered vegetables and rice, my date had blackened sea bass. We shared a crunchy salad that had remarkably fresh ingredients. The fine pianist, Solomon, was the perfect added touch. This is a family run restaurant with a warm and welcoming ambiance. I wish them all the luck in the world and intend on being a regular.

Ate there 10M July 12 on veranda. Fabulous waiter from Romania (Joe?) 6 adults in our party. Bloody Mary’s were fabulous. We had biscuits and gravy, amazing, breakfast tacos, delicious, eggs Benedict, fabulous, egg white omelet, very good. No leftovers for this group and we will be back for sure!!

We had a great experience eating here. The chef, Steve, is a wonderful host. His staff follows in suit. The food was wonderful too. If I had to give one critique it would be that the porch was fairly hot, but that wouldn't stop me from going there again. I definitely recommend eating here.

ATTN: Owners - I am writing this review to make you guys better. I know this place just opened and there is a learning curve. However, if you want to have a speakeasy theme, have a menu and drinks consistent with that. I hope you add some craft cocktails, small plates, and beef/chicken/veggie main dishes (I had the tuna poke tonight and it was awful). For inspiration for atmosphere look to Maxwell Mansion in Lake Geneva. The servers were great and personable.

I always love trying new places and Welcker's Lounge in Fish Creek did not disappoint! My filet, carrots and au gratin potatoes were amazing! So much flavor and I am already dreaming of my leftovers. I can't wait to go back and try brunch sometime. The staff are so welcoming and friendly! If you're in Door County this summer I highly recommend making a reservation! The speakeasy vibes and history of the place make it cozy to sit, relax and enjoy!

A “ Speak Easy” atmosphere in a historical building in Fish Creek-
Wonderful service, delicious food, great wines and friendly staff!
This is a new restaurant in an old building, with an amazing, upscale menu created by wonderful chefs. Brunch is delicious, and dinners amazing!
It is new, so there will be a few hiccups along the way, but it is definitely worth trying out!
We have been there several times during our 2 week stay in Fish Creek, and can’t wait to be back to visit again!

Worst overpriced place. Awful food. May want to turn it not a pub and serve burgers and sandwiches.

Sat right next to the live piano, and it wasn’t too loud! NY Strip was a perfect medium rare, with the fat crisped nicely, the truffle oil was a great touch. Scallops were spot on. Can’t wait to try this place for brunch.

The food here was amazing. I can’t believe I asked for salt and pepper. We did not use any of it because the food was so amazingly seasoned and cooked perfectly. This was hands dow the best medium rare tenderloin I have ever had. thanks to all at this wonderful restaurant. They will not disappoint. Give them a try.

Overpriced and mediocre. The crab cakes were nice, but the sauce was bland. Cheese chowder was mediocre. The poke at Costco is much fresher. Veggies were boring.

Very friendly staff. Marga was nice and gave me one of the best tables. We got really good food recommendations from Simon. Everybody is really good and you can see they work hard especially Tzigghy, never saw a guy cleaning the table so fast and well. You must stop here if you are in the area!
