OMG! I can’t believe we had a cabin up here for 27 years and never ate at this supper club. Super friendly staff and great service by Laurie. My husband had the jagerschnitzel with homemade mushroom gravy served with a salad, spaetzel, and red cabbage. I had chicken Oscar that had an abundance of REAL crab with bernaise sauce. Truly, the best German food north of New Braunfels, TX!

Went on a Wednesday, website says best to reserve, so we did, earliest opening was 7:15, this was 5 hours earlier. Got there at 6:30, huge bar, only 2 people sitting at it. Service was good, drinks were good. Tables open all over the place. Would not seat us till 7:15. Got to the table ordered and food can out. Baked potato was cold, would not melt the butter put on it. Wife and I got ribeye steaks, done perfectly to our liking. They were so salty we couldn’t eat them. For the price we paid, would not return.

This was my first visit to Williams and I have to say it was very enjoyable. I did check out the menu ahead of time because I am a very picky eater and did find something that fit very well into my pickiness. I was invited out by another couple who had been there before and they by chance like the same thing that I did so we all ordered the same thing. I dined here Saturday June 21st with my sister and Mom. Grace was our server and she was so lovely and very attentive. The Caesar Salad was perfectly crisp. My ribeye was expertly seasoned and cooked to a beautiful medium rare. The mushrooms on top were so flavorful. This is one of the best dinner experiences I've had in the Northwoods. I'm a private chef in the Milwaukee area and I definitely like to give credit where it is due! The place is spotless and so well-maintained. I'm very impressed, and will recommend William's Pine Gables to everyone.

The schnitzel here is completely unrivaled. Coming from someone who lived in Germany, this is one of the best schnitzels you’ll find outside of Austria or Germany. I would rate their schnitzel higher than places like The Berghoff in Chicago or Mader’s in Milwaukee. The restaurant was also notably clean — everyone at our table was astonished by how spotless the place was. Might be a bit pricey but it’s well worth it for a special occasion.. 10/10 would recommend. (Quick PSA: coming from a tourist turned resident, please cut the restaurants up here some slack regarding wait times and such. Businesses are frequently understaffed and it’s not their fault. Thank you!)

We were excited to finally match our schedule with this restaurant! We were greeted by manager Shawn, who was super friendly. We sat at the gorgeous bar and loved the delicious Long Branch Old Fashioned and The Gable. We appreciated that the tv screens are placed high and not all of them were sports. That and the beautiful wood interior gives it a classier feel than other places. My husband ordered Deb and Lon's Rouladen. It was excellent. I had one of that night's specials, a Cubano. The ham and pickle was embedded into a succulent pork tenderloin. It was moist and delicious. The veggie combo was an excellent side. We ended up sharing a fabulous peach cobbler. Our server, Shaun, was efficient, polite, and friendly. We had a really great night and we will return with friends and family.

Dined with wife and 2 couples here on 2/15/2025. Drinks and food were nothing short of dynamite. I had a Jameson old fashioned before we moved to our table. All of our meals were spot on - I had Wienerschnitzel and some awesome spaetzle. Did not disappoint. Only knocks were the lengthy wait time from ordering to meal arriving and my main course that I ordered ala Holstein, which showed up minus the Holstein (egg). Will be back.

Food was fine. Not worth the $160 we spent but fine. Service great. The atmosphere is so sterile! All those beautiful wood walls with nothing to break it up! No pictures, plants, candles. Everything in burgundy. Curtains, floors, tablecloths, staff. I realize you may be trying to stay true to original supper club decor but need to add something! Surprisingly exceptional! Traveled a little over 45 minutes from home, and thought it would be a 4 ⭐️ supper club. It’s a lot of wood to take in! The old fashion I had was spot on! Our dinners were excellent. I had a filet with homemade bearnaise sauce, while my husband had the chicken parmigiana. The bearnaise sauce was like no other I’ve had, it was a little sweet, which I liked, & the sauce on the parmigiana was so good, it had to have been homemade sauce. We were so full without finishing our entire meal (so we both got to enjoy it a second time), but opted for the carrot cake to go as all, that too was very good. We will definitely make it back there for another special occasion dinner.

Definitely recommend BUT Please do make a reservation which we did only because it was cranberry fest weekend! The bar keep was on her A game-the drinks were what is expected at a wisconsin supper club. Nice and stiff. There was immediate acknowledgement of our presence upon entering as we made our way to the bar and drinks were made to order. Shortly after receiving beverages our table was ready. Knowing this is a extra busy festival weekend it was obvious that the staffing shortage was also evident BUT the staff we had was on their A games, too! Suggestions were made after the specials shared and Friday fish fry was decided upon fish 4 large pieces with a med crust, Cole slaw , steak fries a huge order of these on the plate and marble rye sliced bread. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes and Wisconsin cheese curds. Both were amazing and quite tasty. Our waiter Sean was attentive and eager to please. The ambiance is truly that of a wisconsin supper club with a log cabin cozy feel. The location was perfect as we stayed just down the street at a local hotel.
Highly recommended and definitely a return with a reservation booked In advance so I won’t miss the opportunity to dine here while in visiting in the future.

Love that I could make reservations online!! We were sat right at the time of our reservation! We arrived 30 mins prior to enjoy a cocktails at the bar pre dinner. Old Fashions for all of us, bartender friendly. Our meals were excellent, ribeye, filet, prime rib and chicken Oscars. I had the vegetable of the day- chickpeas, sun dry tomatoes and feta..yummy. Although reservations are recommended we stopped in as we were passing through without one. The manager gladly took our table himself as they appeared to be understaffed. Although he was certainly busy with his other duties he was very accommodating and friendly to us. The old fashion was clearly made by a professional and delicious. Fish fry was not the best I’ve had but the clam chowder and French onion soup are exceptional. My wife had a Thai beef entree that was on special, certainly should be added to the menu. Incredible. Atmosphere, staff, food and overall experience has made this one of my favorite spots in the northwoods. Only regret is that it’s not closer to home.

Probably the best dining experience in Eagle River last night. Outstanding service from the bar staff and manager.
The inside of this place is beautiful. Large bar area and fireplace.

Saturday night prime rib was fantastic as was the onion soup & loaded baked potato. Way to full for desert but we did have after dinner drinks.

We had reservations. We arrived a little early and were able to be seated right away. The hostess and server were very friendly. Our appetizer was the cheese curds. They were served in a cute little fry basket. We both ordered the Friday Fish Fry. The clam chowder that comes with it was tasty. The Platter had four small pieces of fish, cole slaw, and potato pancakes. For dessert, we shared a Brandy Alexander ice cream drink which was divine.

Our experience..
Got there right when they opened so there wasn’t a wait. We get seated in the side room for my party of 7. 4 adults and 3 kids. Took my kids to the bathroom a couple times throughout dinner and felt like we were purposely put in a room away from other guests because I had a baby because the rest of the bar and seating areas had adults in it. So right off the bat, got the vibes of this not being a very family friendly place.
And my feeling was right; there was absolutely NO kids menu on the menu. So we were stuck spending full price on meals for my kids. But oh wait, here’s the kicker! You get charged to share plates! We had fees put on our bill for my two older kids to share off a plate as well as my mother in law getting charged extra. She had stated we are out of town and aren’t taking leftovers home so she could just graze off my father in laws plate if she had to but would take a bowl of the clam chowder. She NEVER ate off my father in laws plate. But the charge was there so when the bill came, she asked about the extra charge on there but because my mother in law said she’d share with my father in law if he couldn’t eat it all, was put on there. The waitress then very SNIPPY I might add, says that it tells you on the menu there’s a charge for sharing. That we’re lucky we were only charged $2/person instead of $10 like a lot of places. So with that being said, for fun, looked at the menu and NOWHERE on there did it say there was a charge for splitting!
Despite the French onion soup being good, liking my Cobb Salad, was disappointed that there was only one choice for a Friday night fish fry special and it only came deep fried? The breading on the haddock was lighter than the walleye breading. My husband ended up peeling off all the breading and ate just the fish out of it. They had a $30 salmon special but nothing else for fish which is very unfortunate being we are from Wisconsin, Fridays are for fish and old fashions.
Everyone, including my three kids, really enjoyed the clam chowder soup.
With all of this being said, nothing will convince me to come back with my kids. We will find something a little more kid friendly as they’re on vacation too.

Had 5:00 reservations on a Saturday, walked in at 4:59, the place was pretty empty, 4-5 people at the bar. Hostess confirmed our reservation, then makes us wait 5 minutes, telling us she has to check with the kitchen to make sure that they're ready. They open at 4:00, so I would think they'd be ready? We're led to an okay table, and asked for a different one. Big production...that table is held for someone (friend of the owners?), but you can have this one. In an almost empty restaurant? Strange.
But food and service were out of this world!
We'll go back.

Had dinner here recently on a Saturday night. Wasn't super busy which I thought was odd as when I reserved our table, the earliest time available was 6:15. No biggie, arrived early and had some old fashioned's at the bar. They were very good. We both had the shrimp dinner, 1 fried, 1 grilled. Both were excellent as was the baked French onion soup. Restaurant is very clean....seemed almost too clean because there is absolutely no interior decor. The walls are completely bare. Was also odd that there was no background music in the dining room...there were speakers throughout, but no sound coming from them....maybe someone forgot to turn them on. Anyway, we will visit again. Drinks, Food and service were all top notch!

This was the first time my wife and I visited the Pine Gables.
Beautiful rustic log building, we had a couple drinks at the bar before dinner, after we were seated we both ordered the filet mignon with salads, my wife had baked potato I had onion rings, and dinner rolls.
Our steaks were made just to our liking and very tasty as was the rest of our meal.
Overall very good experience, will come back again.

I wish I could give them 10 stars. To start with, unfortunately they are short staffed. So instead of loading the restaurant up with people and making them wait, yes you have to have a reservation. It's worth every bit of having a reservation, we were seated almost immediately and the food was delivered in a very timely fashion. The food was absolutely delicious! So I don’t ever go on and leave reviews but we had one of the worst experience at this place in the Northwoods. We came in at 7:30 they ask if we would be ok with a both in the bar we said absolute, but could we get a drink at the bar first they reluctantly said yes, we got to the bar where we were not greeted by anyone and when they finally did come up they acted as if we where a huge inconvenience to them, not even after 10 mins at the bar not even half way threw our drink we where rushed to the booth, when we got there, no one was coming up to us sever after sever kept passing by …. Not even looking at us or saying hey we will be right with you, why rush us to our table if it was going to be 30 mins before anyone even came over … we finally hit the 30 min mark and we left…. Not one person there was friendly, everyone there acted as is they hated their job it was just awful all around. It’s too bad because we had bad experience prior to this but always give this place a chance and nothing has change!

Don't hesitate, make a reservation! As first-timers, my husband and I were very impressed. We both had the chicken special (not sure of name), but it was a flattened chicken breast rolled with spinach and served with alfredo sauce, it was delicious!! Tried this place for the first time and it was fantastic! The service was great. The atmosphere and building are warm and welcoming. The food and drinks were so good. We had grouper (first time) and ribeye (cooked medium). The food was fabulous. Perfectly cooked. House wine was really good, smooth, no acidic after taste. Our server was Lisa. She was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly. The building is gorgeous, all logs. The bar is huge and has service from two sides of a rectangle. Booths in the bar. Three dining rooms. Safe distance seating during Covid so you need a reservation. New building, new owners, new name. Rate them excellent on all counts. Food and service worth the price. $$. Pine Gables offers genuine fine dining in the Northwoods. The restaurant interior and exterior is immaculate, the menu includes several interesting German dishes. We tried the rouladen and the jaeger schnitzel, both were exquisite, served with house-made spaetzle and red cabbage. The wine list is a bit short but offers several good choices, and bottle service was on point. The staff was friendly, efficient, and non-intrusive, providing an excellent experience. Prices are reasonable.

Lived in the area for years. Decided to finally stop in for 1 after dinner drink after never being here before. Ordered a Gimlet and paid $18.00!!! They said "oh a gimlet is a double $9 ×2" Never ever in any and all supper clubs I've been in, in all of the 3 county surrounding areas have I paid more than $9-10 for a Gimlet. I am not surprised as the bar was totally dead as were the bartenders: mopey, stale, non-smiley and meh. Never to return...

So a bottle of Botanist runs for $33 and your cost is much much less and it is considered "premium" and by charging $18 for a double pour in the tiny highball glass...a patron pays for more than half the entire bottles worth in a double pour Gimlet??!! No fool here! As I said before: the most expensive, overpriced, ridiculous price I've ever paid anywhere!! Never to return : )

Super cool how on the website it says “ reservations recommended” but limits you to 6 per person. We had 8 and when we came in I was refused service saying I would have needed to take a reservation. Update your website….

Eagle River, WI hasn't been spared the struggles familiar to many businesses; lack of help. And, because the town relies on tourism, there's an abundance of service related businesses. If you're planning on vacationing here, be aware. We happen to be traveling with our small rat terrier dog, and relying on take-out, more than usual.

DESPITE WHAT YOU READ ELSEWHERE, THERE IS NO TAKE-OUT IN EAGLE RIVER, WI.

Having said that, I have to give Williams's Pine Gables Supper Club a
5-Star review. We called last night during a very busy Friday night and asked if we could order for curbside pickup. A manager came to the phone and he allowed us to do this. Hallelujah! Williams's Pine Gables Supper Club saves the day and to top it off, the food was great! We ordered the fish fry and it was very good. The fish was haddock and we weren't disappointed. It was delicious as were the potato pancakes. Side salad had a generous variety of salad favorites, i.e. cucumber, carrot, tomato, thinly sliced onion, croutons and a fresh spring mix variety of lettuces.

I'm a consumer just like the rest of you, and I'm highly recommending Williams's Pine Gables Supper Club. We will definitely spend our dollars at Williams's Pine Gables Supper Club, again and again!

First time diners here and we were not disappointed! If you are concerned about COVID as we are, this place has it down pat. All staff were masked and gloved. Seating is socially distanced very well and they limit the number of diners thru use of reservations. The food was outstanding! We made a reservation for two nights from now before we left! Highly recommend!

My wife and I finally tried a meal at this restaurant on 9-3-20. We're glad we did. Their reservation process was useful to control capacity. It also ensured that we ate at the time we wanted to. The newly remodled restaurant is beautiful and the noise level inside is very tolerable. The drink I had "on the rocks" at the bar was skimpy at best for the price, but this was our only disappointment. The waitstaff were pleasant, polite and helpful without being overly attentive. We both had weinerschnitzel with spaetzel and red cabbage. Our meals were plentiful, delicious and reasonably priced. We truly enjoyed our experience and highly recommend this supper club

This restaurant was absolutely fantastic!!! The food was to die for I had the most perfectly cooked ribeye that I've ever had & believe me I've tried many other restaurants!! My fiance had the best ever oysters Rockefeller & his scallop dish was delicious too! Our server Piper was the sweetest she was so attentive & right on top of things in fact the entire staff was frickin amazing. I would definitely recommend eating here. If you don't live near by it's ABSOLUTELY worth the drive I know for sure we're definitely going back!!!

This past Wednesday I an my family had a chance to finally dine at Pine Gables. Everything was so fantastic..from the ambiance, the renovations are beautiful, very helpful staff, the food..the French Onion Soup was the best we have ever had. My Sister and her husband thought they had the best French Onion Soup in Hawaii but.they were floored by how good it was here. If you have time you must go to this restaurant, you won't be disappointed.
I can't wait to come back!

Valentine's Day-2020! Dismal! Arrived at 7:10 for 7:30 reservation; table ready at 8:15 in front of the bathroom! No romantic music, instead on the three big screen tvs, we had to watch wrestling, boxing & basketball (we were given a table in the bar, though there were other tables available. Shawn, our waiter, was superb. Restaurant was woefully understaffed. Beef wellington advertised at arriving medium, was well done. Rest of food, okay. For 115.00 plus tax, not worth it. Not priceless! Doubt we'll go again!

First visit. Requested hours and reservations 5 days before arrival met with no response. Arrival in person was somewhat similar. In some defense to our server, he had a 10 top seated in a opposite area seated at the same time our table of 4 was seated. Only 4 tables being served while we were there. Drinks took over 15 minutes to be served. Dinner took significantly longer, most likely because of the table of 10. Dishes served were tenderloin tips over noodles, vegan dish, Southwest Chicken salad and an evening special of chicken and ribs. service was slow given it was a Wednesday and few diners, food was unfortunately average. we all agreed our experience didn't match our anticipation. Nice atmosphere given the newly built log decor, beautiful bar area; would have expected the hospitality to match the decor. I'm sure we'll give them another visit but it might be awhile.

I was really looking forward to my first visit here. We had studied the menu to make sure there was something I could eat, vegan (no dairy/no meat) and I was delighted to see that there was. A portobella mushroom with quinoa and a side of mixed color carrots and it was delicious! Bravo. I appreciate that a local Northwoods business is offering an upscale vegan option. Bravo.

The included salad was also very good. Where it fell short is that the dinner included salad AND soup. Not one of the soup options was vegan.

The wine list was extensive and we were able to find a nice choice under $30. In the next printing of the list I hope they will use a more legible font in a readable size.

Our waiter was very nice but service was painfully slow. Our table had a bottle of wine, a glass of wine and a cocktail. The bottle of wine was delivered 15 minutes before the other drinks. Service was sluggish the whole evening with each course, including down to taking payment. We just waited and waited. From entry to departure it was 2 and a half hours. Which I don't mind... When I am the one making the choice to have a long dinner.

In spite of the years to build and the stories of perfection, the interior felt unfinished. No artwork, color, soul.

I will go again, everyone deserves a second chance, perhaps it was an off evening. If I have a warmer experience a second time, I will update my review.

Great and friendly bartender and good wine selection and price. Same w waitress and busser. Nice and attentive. Food excellent! Clam chowder that was perfectly seasoned with potatoes diced as should be. Hot fresh rolls. Wonderful house made Thousand Island dressing which is a rare thing nowadays-fresh salad dressings. My brother had the haddock fish fry with shoestring fries and he loved it. I had Rahmschnitzel that was perfect w the best tart red cabbage and potato pancakes. The potato pancake was the only thing that could have been warmer but flavor was still good. We were too full for dessert. Price was great for quality. Beautiful restoration of building from the 1920's (I think that's the era, but beautiful, no matter which decade). Note: I was hesitant to go here at first because of some reviews on service and wait time although even those reviews said food was very good so I can agree with that part! No wait issues for us though off season Friday at open, but we will definitely go there again and even wait if need be!

This was my families first time being here and it was a terrible experience. There was a 10 minute wait, we were then seated at our table and the waitress stated that they were a bit busy and that the waitress would be a minute to get to our table. Totally fine, but a minute turned into 20 minutes and not 1 person asked if we needed anything or if we were even taken care of. So we then proceeded to walk out as everyone at the front desk watched us walk out. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be there for hours upon hours.

My husband called for reservations at 5 pm on Saturday night, our first time going here, and our Anniversary. He was told no reservations for under 5 people. We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told there was an hour wait. There were empty tables in one dining room, because they didn't have enough servers. There were 3 servers, and a 4th was training. The bar was packed, with 2 bar tenders, so it took a while to get a drink. During our wait we asked people leaving how their meal was. Everyone responded great! We were seated after 95 min, with the manager trying to convince us that we were now given the best table in the house. It was fine, but we didn't appreciate the patronizing pitch. Our waitress was kind, and gave each of us a free glass of wine ($12 value) with our meal for the long wait, which we appreciated more. Soup, salad, walleye, and prime rib were delicious . The restaurant log cabin atmosphere with multiple stone fireplaces was beautiful!

We wanted to LOVE IT but not so much. Typical rich owners that know everything about running a restaurant but truly know nothing. Below average food. The staff clearly has no power. They are not allowed to show their personality. They are too scared to smile or show some humor because they are so worried about the strict up tight owners “rules”. You just aren’t going to fall in love with the place. The people make the place and these owners clearly don’t appreciate good help. Good people / workers will CNET if you treat them right.

We stopped here Saturday night with a party of 8. Called ahead and message said no reservations taken. Message stated they seated until 9. We arrived around 8 and were told that they couldn’t accommodate us. She said there was a 40 minute wait and that’s when they stop serving. They were also short staffed with only 2 servers. How can a restaurant properly serve its customers with only 2 servers on a Saturday night? We left here saying we will never try there again...they had no desire to have our business. White Stag happily served us a delicious dinner.
