It's actually been about a year or two since we have eaten here last, despite the fact that it is less than a quarter mile from our home. When we did eat there, the food was very good, fresh and delivered by servers who really took care of us. I, without a doubt, would recommend people give this place a try if you have not yet.

About the only somewhat negative that I can think of is the fact that their hours seem somewhat inconsistent. There have been several times where we wanted to run up there for a quick dinner only to find them closed.

Oh, and they dropped that awesome Italian sausage burger / sandwich from the menu a few years ago and I keep hoping they will bring it back. LOL

We all have been told, Never judge a book by it's cover. Wise Guys Pizzeria and Pub is a shining example of that metaphorical phrase. When you approach, you are greeted by a lovely patio setting. When you walk through the entrance this is where the Metamorphosis happens, you step back into time, I time of dark woods, low amber lighting, exposed brick and wonderful private booths. The service was slow, good and then tapered off. The wait staff uses warming welcoming phrases to let you know you'll be taken care of. The pizza is good, there is adequate sauce, cheese and other toppings of your liking. The drinks seem to be ample. Overall this was a wonderful experience that I wouldn't mind revisiting from time to time.

I ordered dinner 07/19/2025. It was my first time ordering and eating here. The staff upon entry were very friendly and warm. The ambiance is date-night low lighting amber tone. The bar area was super nice and had around 10 tv. The food was very good. I got a regular hand tossed with dbl sausage.... crust had very good texture & garlic butterr finish... I however was not impressed with the amount of sausage on the pizza for a "dbl sausage"... be this as it may, I still give 5star. I also ordered a Chicago style stuffed pizza. I was very surprised at the quality & presentation.... and also how neat the pizza presentation was. It had a box pad to sit pizza on inside the box so it didnt stick to the pizza box. This was our first time at Wiseguys and overall we enjoyed our dinners. We ordered a pizza to share and a cheesy garlic bread. The bread was just okay... nothing special. But the marinara sauce for dipping was outstanding. We then got our pizza... it was a hand-tossed combination. The toppings and sauce were very very good. However, the dough was unexceptional at best. It didn't have much flavor and our pizza was overcooked... most of the bottom and especially around the edges were black. I think if it wasn't burnt it might have helped with the flavor. But overall it was a good pie. Next time I will probably try the Chicago style.

The pizzas are the best in the valley because of the cheese, it streches a mile and they have deep dish pies that will rival any place in Chicago. They offer thin or thick crust, regular or spicy sauce, and did I mention the cheese!! 🍻
But if you go get the "Don," their Italian beef sandwich with real fries - an outstanding sandwich
The bar area is nice too with a great selection. I have never had a bad experience here.

Such a neat and cozy atmosphere. And wonderful food. Whether you’re looking for Chicago style stuffed, or a thinner crust it’s all fantastic. We love the zesty red sauce and with so many topping choices (or specialty pizzas options) it’s always a challenge ordering just one pizza 😅 The bruschetta appetizer and Alfredo pasta dish you can tailor to your liking are a couple other of our faves here. I’ve been on a quest to try all the pizza in the valley and finally made it into Wiseguys. The pizza was so yummy and I can confidently say Wiseguys is the winner of best pizza I’ve had so far (I’ve tried most in the area!) I highly recommend the hand tossed crust. I got a side of homemade pesto and a side of the zesty sauce-both were so flavorful and good! We were seated immediately and our server was excellent. I can’t wait to come back to get the pesto pasta and try the stuffed pizza!

Over all our family likes going here, it's been a few months and the food is usually great, However, I was disappointed tonight to see the portion of Haddock and red potatoes given for a 19.75 plate. I could have gone to Lake Park pub and gotten 3 large pieces of haddock and baby red, rye bread and coleslaw for around $14. The portion did not match up with price. My son ordered the same Haddock dinner, he got fries and 3 pieces of fish, I got the reds and only got 2 pieces of small haddock. Guess I'll get the pizza next time as usual. If I go back

LOVE this place. Me and my wife’s first time dining here was last night. Great atmosphere inside, and the food was insane. Bruschetta was a contender for the best i’ve ever had. One of the best kept secrets in the valley. This pizza is hands down some of the best I've ever had. I worked here for a very brief time in high school and I remember seeing everything being made fresh in the kitchen and over 10 years later I can tell nothings changed. The crust, the cheese, the sauce, it's all so delicious. I HIGHLY recommend getting the zesty sauce if you don't mind a little kick, i promise it'll be the most flavorful pizza sauce you've ever had. The pepperoni tastes freshly sliced and not like the cheap overly processed crap and same with the sausage. The owners Mike & Brenda are amazing people and I'm so glad this place is still here all these years later. Our server was great too. I absolutely love the atmosphere too- it's very classy and intimate. Absolutely love this place and I'll gladly keep making the trip from Green Bay.

We really wanted to love this place as it's a very cute restaurant and the staff is super friendly. However, the food is just not worth the price tag. The $8 cheesy garlic bread is two pieces of toast with mozzarella cheese slices melted on top and the deep dish pizza came out luke-warm without that special flavor that one would expect from a deep dish. One of the martinis I had was not drinkable and tasted like cleaning solution but the waitress did get me a different one which was a bit better. Again, the staff is VERY friendly and accommodating, nothing but good things to say there. Overall, we left spending $70 on a meal that we didn't feel satisfied with. There are many great pizza places in the Valley and unfortunately this is not one of them in my opinion. It could be an acceptable place for lunch or dinner if the prices came down exponentially.

Here comes why you don’t get five stars and to be honest if the food wasn’t so great, I might give out three stars.

Your service is not great. I’ve had a couple great experiences with staff, but mostly not the best. Now this is beyond staffing shortages and such. We are taking about folks that don’t understand the customer service industry.

We will overlook the mistakes made to orders. The establishment won’t be that busy and getting your order to be taken initially seems to be a task. I have actually recommended this place to multiple ppl and they have walked out due to not getting any service.

My prime example is a take out order I placed once. Waiting for my order I took a seat at the bar. I was there for 40 mins. That’s not my complaint. My complaint is they weren’t busy and I sat there for 40 mins at the bar and not once did the bar tender attempt to see if I wanted a drink. I planned on having two since I knew it was going to be a wait. No should I have maybe gotten their attention, sure. But I thought someone would’ve asked me if I wanted a drink. There was two other folks at the bar besides me.

Again food is amazing. Get the deep dish Dillanger.

And to the guy in the reviews complaining about oregano in the sauce…that’s called real sauce. That fella must want a can of Campbells on his pie.

Walking in we were greeted immediately and she set us down at a table. Our server caner shorty after to get our drinks. We ordered cheese bread and motz sticks along with two sausage, Pepperoni, onion pizzas. Food took a little longer than than expected for the amount of people but could have had alot of takeouts. When the apps came the cheese we were a little disappointed as it was just a piece of toast with cheese on it and motz sticks two were hollow and had no cheese in them.. When the pizzas came they looked great! Pizza had nice ratio of topping to sauce. Really no complaints on the pizza. The apps I prob will not get for the price of them. Good stuffed Chicago style pizza. It does take a while to make it, so if you're really hungry plan on ordering an appetizer. We had garlic bread this time, but we have also enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and split a salad. We went at 5:30 on a Friday and were able to be seated right away. The dining area has always been dark and cozy, but with March Madness going on they were playing basketball on most of the tvs. Like halfway through our meal they turned up the volume so much so that the conversation at our table turned to shouting to be able to hear each other. They have a good drink menu here, and when the weather is nice they have a patio that they allow you to bring your dog to while you eat 😊. Also on Fridays they have fish fry options on the menu as well.

Horrible service. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. Good luck calling during “business hours”, because they won’t take your order. Called in for pick up an hour before closing and was greeted on the phone with nothing but rudeness. Was told the kitchen was closed. So I Asked if I came in to order if I would be served and was met with silence on the other end. When I called back to speak to the manager she was condescending and rude and told me I was just “having a bad day” and they COULD take my order. She didn’t apologize for the way the previous employee lied and handled the situation nor did she care. I don’t even need to taste the food to know this plus sucks. I thought places wanted business?! Poor service, had to ask for a different server (first time in my life), the guy waiting on us was very short with us, declined to take our food order and wanted to just get our drinks (we waited 10 min before this so ample time to read menu). I would like to share my first experience at Wise Guys Pizza in Appleton Wisconsin. I've heard a lot of really great stuff about this place, I ate pizza in Chicago rather often so I decided to give it a try. It was Friday night and it was I believe 7 I called in an order for carry out. I called in the young lady on the phone asked to take my order and I told her I wanted to deep dish pizza. She said I'm sorry we can't make that for you because we close at 8 and it takes almost an hour to make the pizza. At first I thought maybe was an April Fool's joke but it's December. Unfortunately that was my first and will be my last experience at Wise Guys Pizza. It is no wonder businesses are closing early because they have no work for employees

Visited for the first time last week, even though I've lived in town for years. Absolutely love this place. The Chicago pizzeria vibe is very authentic. Pizza is on a different level. Please allow ample time for ordering if getting deep dish. Definitely will be back!

Absolutely delicious! Had a calzone that was fantastic, and so did my wife. It was cooked fresh, which is why you wait 20-30 minutes for calzone or pizza, and was perfect. The atmosphere is dark and romantic. Great food, great service. Highly recommended!

Service can take quite some time, though they did give us an extra calzone, which was great.

The breadsticks seemed better than the cheese toast which needs a little bit of Parmesan or something to Brown on the top of it, and of the calzones I tried, the one with mushrooms, chicken, and alfredo sauce was the best by far.

I grabbed a Chicago stuffed deep dish just because I had a taste for it. After researching the Appleton area, the best two were Wiseguys and a place I will not mention. I chose Wiseguys because, let’s be honest, it’s a pretty cool name. The pizza was very fresh as far as the ingredients. I had the spicy sausage and it was made pretty good. I was super pleased overall and definitely will be back.

the food was alright, we got the stuffed pizza and it was still doughy in the crust. there’s a lot of hype surrounding this place that it really didn’t live up to. the service was fine, everyone was nice, but there was one woman who wasn’t wearing a mask and helping guests and she got very close to my face when she was talking to me. i was just a little grossed out seeing that were in a pandemic right now.

Their deep dish pizza are some of the best around, and their staff is friendly. Preparation times on their deep dishes are a bit longer than others, but it's worth the wait. Unfortunately their hours are quite limited, currently only being open evenings on Thursday-Sunday as of this writing. Hopefully they are able to expand hours in the future so more people can enjoy their food.
