We were visiting on a girls trip from Minnesota. We stopped at three other places before we found the Lodge and were pleasantly surprised. The last three places we stopped at were very unwelcoming, and we almost threw our hats in, until we found the Lodge. Cheryl, our waiter, was beyond awesome! She took time even when she was extremely busy, took pictures for us, and made the evening so enjoyable after what could’ve been a total flop. This dinner was my pick it wax Sunday for dinner. Waitress was new so service was slow and poor keep trying girl you'll get the hang of it. I had 1/2 rack of ribs so dry and meat was hard. Vibes and service was good. Charging $30 for a ribeye that looked like a cut of meat you’d get at dennys is where I draw the line. The steak looked so bad I didn’t even take a picture of it to share with friends. The seasoning and cook was there. It was just a bad, cheap, poor cut. It was like Taco Bell steak. That alone is enough to drop this down 2 ratings. Don’t put steak in your menu is your distributor is giving you bad steak. Stick to sirloins or something.

My family reserved this Lodge for my sister's Celebration of Life party/service & I can't say enough good things about it. For starters, I'd say the staff was remarkable & always willing to help with anything & everything we needed. They were very fast & efficient & very kind.
The place is all open & has a couple sections that give it a cozy feel. There is also a bar to order drinks. It's right on the Lake & has large windows to see it. The food buffet was great. Very nice venue for medium sized events &

Made reservations in the afternoon for their Valentines Weekend Menu (Special Menu for Friday, Saturday and Sunday) on Friday because they had posted they had openings for Valentine’s dinner. When we were seated we were told they were out of most of the menu items for their Valentine dinner. Drove 30 minutes in a snowstorm to be told they are out of food. Not a good customer experience! Could have saved ourselves a trip and gone to another restaurant closer to home!

Neil always makes the perfect Old Fashioned! We dined at the bar today and had the most amazing food. I had the in house smoked ribs, and my wife had the baked chicken. We went for dinner and reserved a window table. We were seated quickly and the server worked hard to meet our needs. I had the bone in ribeye cooked medium rare. It was juicy and delicious. They use fresh mushrooms and the batter fries were crunchy. The only negative is the noise. When busy, there isn't much to absorb the loudness and it can be complex to chat while eating.

This was our first visit to Wissota Lodge. We enjoyed the walleye, the view, and our friendly server, Jack. However, 2 hours after ordering, we still did not have our food and had to ask if our meals were ever going to come! Jack told us they were currently being prepared, and the food was hot when it arrived. When we initially sat down, we skipped ordering appetizers, as we were all hungry, and ordered our entrees right away, so the two plus hours were really a long, long wait. Tables on either side of us, who were seated after us, received and finished their meals. A couple seated next to us (who were seated after us and left before our meals arrived), couldn’t believe how long we’d waited, said the restaurant should have paid for our meals. There were a few other difficulties as well. Our reservation made in advance was not accurate when we arrived and it was near impossible to get a drink at the bar (it took about 30 minutes to order a drink). It almost seemed like the bartender avoided waiting on our party. Despite all of that, we did feel that the food was very good and tipped our waiter well, as the delay was not his fault. Not sure if the hour round trip drive is worth it for us, if it takes over two hours to get our meals. For the record, we had a 6:30pm reservation and finally left at 9:15.

We stopped at Wissota Lodge for the first time on Friday night as it’s close to our house and on the way home from work. At 4pm we beat the rush and it was quiet the whole time we were there. We were seated fairly quickly and the view looking over the lake was spectacular!

One of the things that was a bit confusing was the bar/dinner menu. There was food on the website that was not on the dinner menu. Is there a separate menu and separate drink specials just for the bar?? This is very unclear by looking at the website but we didn’t get happy hour drink prices in the restaurant.

My husband and I both ordered the fish— he ordered it battered and I ordered it blackened— his with fries and mine with garlic mashed potatoes. Our dinners also came with the house veg (asparagus) and dinner salads. The fish was $19.95. We both really enjoyed our food!! The fish was giant and cooked perfectly! The batter on the fish was perfectly light. We would definitely return for the fish!

The service was okay… it took a while for our waitress to check on us after we got our food and it seemed they were busy setting up tables for the evening. Also, I do think it’s unprofessional for service staff to be on their phones in the dining room.

Even with these hiccups we will return because the food was that good.

We went to check it out after finding out our favorite old fashoin master and cook from Connells went here after Connells closing, and it was my Granddaughters birthday celebration. Neither were working 😞
Everything was great. Prices on steak dinners were a little steep. It's not the old Connells of Wissota before it was sold and went downhill, but we will be back. For the food, drinks, and to see Neil and Mike!

We hired Wissota lodge catering for our wedding on 8/5/2023. I can’t enough how amazing Dave and Jack were. They went above and beyond to make sure our day went smoothly! From the service the banquet servers provided to the food, everything was amazing. They provide reasonable pricing with 5 star service. If you are looking for catering for a large or small banquet I highly recommend reaching out to Wissota Lodge, you won’t regret it!

It was our first time at the Wissota Lodge for dinner tonight, and we will definitely be back. We had amazing service from beginning to end. We had jalapeño poppers for an appetizer that had some kick to them but were the best I've had around this area. I went with the Chicken breast with a creamy gouda sauce, garlic mashed, and asparagus. It was an excellent choice, very flavorful, and light. We are looking forward to our next time at the lodge! Originally from Chippewa, I now live in Kansas City Missouri. When I come home to visit, this is my new go to for Friday night fish. The best walleye in Chippewa and the view of the lake is awesome. I would not recommend this place. As most people already stated in the comments the service is very slow. On top of that we were hanging out by the water while drinking and having food and the workers told us to get off the grass. Why even have tables down in the grass for people to hang out at if you are unable to be down there. My family will never return to this location and I would not recommend it to anyone.

We had our Christmas party last night at the Wissota Lodge. There were 23 of us and every one there did an excellent job! All of the food came out timely, considering there was such a large crew, that is awesome. The appetizers, steaks, shrimp, walleye, smothered chicken, mushrooms, onions, potatoes (baby reds, french fries, & garlic mashed), and hot vegetable (fresh green beans and carrots) were absolutely succulent! Just finished dining lakeside. I had the surf and turf and husband had the porterhouse. Both steaks were delicious. The shrimp was sautéed and had a peppery garlic flavor...no cocktail sauce or dipping butter needed.Drinks were excellent...Blood Mary and an Old Fashion. The lakeside setting was more than great...it was wonderful. I highly recommend eating here...we were celebrating 🍾 our Wedding Anniversary.

Funny how an ATM withdrawal receipt saved me from going to jail. Allegedly trespassing, for almost 3 hours, paying customers I don't drink alcohol, was my 1st & LAST VISIT here, while the Cook/bartender/lives in same building, pretended to have great customer service skills, letting whomever was there behind the bar making their own drinks and running the till(non-employees), irked he "lost over $500 to a woman" (his words), decided to become overly paranoid, like he was on drugs or something, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, and yet hilarious at the pathetic attempt of calling the police, but failed at that too.

It took 45 minutes to get the salad. Another hour and a half to get the food!! I ate at the bar and Friday nights I know are busy but the table turnaround is non-existent for the length of time to get food makes for huge loss of revenue!

Went to dinner with my family as a special night. My daughter was in town for the weekend and my son was home from
OTR trucking. Our server was lovely, and and attentive. Everyone's food was good but I had the Philly cheeesteak sandwich and was very disappointed. It was very dry, cold and flavorless. I asked for some au jus to dip it in and they had none. I will try again but will not be getting that item. Bartenders was nice but had a hard time making a Midwestern Manhattan.

Rented a boat. A lot of jerry-rigged fixes. No ladder for the boat...which was very difficult with 3 little kids. Boat had a a lot of damage. Exposed wires where navigation lighting should be. Wiring harness for horn is disconnected and laying loose. Boat died and after over an hour of trying to reach owners, finally able to connect with non-emergency number who had to contact the owners. Biggest concern is exposed wiring, lack of ladder and inability to contact owner with kids and boat dying.
Initially we were able to turn a blind eye to damage, lack of upkeep and questionable wiring. However, with the boat dying and inability to reach owners for over an hour, that is unacceptable

The food was very good and the service was decent. It's a brand new place so there are still some unfinished touches left, but it is a very nice place overall. The food came out hot and tasted great, the salads were cold and crisp, except they came out at the same time as our food. The only awkward thing was when the bill came, they come to the table with a credit card machine and tell you the total and ask how you want to pay, and expect payment before they walk away. Somewhat strange as most places at least present an itemized bill to look over and then return when you have your payment method ready for them.
