Sat down at 5:20, waited six minutes before leaving. Not even an acknowledgment that we were waiting. Sign says to seat yourself. Three other tables of two. Two waitresses. While we waited, two tables had dishes cleared, one had bill presented, one had orders served and a second table had trip for sauce. Not even a “hi, we’ll be with you in a minute”.
One waitress coughed - like a sick sounding cough. Waitresses looked slovenly - the puke green shirts might be to partly to blame.
We hadn’t been here in years due to awful service and food…I guess same old, same old.
Side note: The atmosphere seems great, quiet (of course it will be if no one can get served), beautiful views and love the ambience.

New Year’s Eve. It was not busy, however we waited a good amount of time before the waitress came to get our order. The salad bar was lettuce, eggs, and dressings. The soup was luke warm. No crackers or croutons were available. We had to wait to eat our salad until the rest of our food showed up as we were never given any silverware.
The meal came and my king cut prime rib was a little small, it was microwaved and still cold. The baked potato came with butter and sour cream. We were never asked how our meal was or if we wanted cheese, horseradish, or Au Ju for our prime rib. It was a very disappointing experience.

Tonight and my 105th different Wisconsin Supper Club brought me to Amery and a first time visit to Wolter's Shoreview Supper Club . It is on pike lake , next to a campground, and such a beautiful location. I got there with a friend at 4 as they were opening. We walked in as the first guests but filled in shortly after with mainly locals. Started at the bar with Monkey Shoulder Whiskey Manhattan as we talked to 85 yo owner and bartender Tony on the history. He also gave us a tour of all the memorabilia including all the vintage miniature automobile decanters. I remember my dad and grandparents having those too. We ordered shrimp cocktail as appetizers as well as combo platter of breaded mushrooms, cheese curds, and chicken bites. They jumbo shrimp were a good size. Shortly after another round of drinks we were escorted to our table by our waitress Amanda. Such a pretty name. If you read all my posts and you know me you know why. We went to our table and started with the soup and salad bar. Homemade cucumber salad and potatoe salads were big hits. Our table ordered Saturday nights king cut prime rib medium rare, ribs, and seafood platter and also to taste shore fries, au gratin potatoes, and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. The prime rib was one of the best I've had in the area. I believe the cook was owner Tony Wolters son. After dinner our waitress asked if we would like complimentary dessert. We were so full but couldn't say no.

They also have a special German Oktoberfest menu starting next week. It's still warm but it's that time of year.

WORST DINNING EXPERIENCE I'VE "E V E R" HAD (see my other reviews, most are 5 stars, this is a 0 star)
We sat for 25 minutes with no server even acklodging us. I finally ask some one if our section was closed or something ? About 5 minutes later a server came by and drop menus and a craft of water LOL, and NO glasses to drink the water from. About 15 minutes goes by and she finally stops back, with a bad attitude, to take our drink orders. Because I was 41 years SOBER & a RECOVERING alcoholic, I asked what NON alcoholic beers they have ? She told me they had Bush and Heineken non-alcoholic. I ordered the Heineken double 0, and even said "awesome you have Heineken 0.0 non-alcoholic". It took another 20 minutes to get our drinks, and she still had not taken our order. Finally we helped ourselves to the salad bar ( that was truly 1/2 emty) because we were hungry and now there for over an hour. I was enjoying conversation with my friends when about half way through my, what I thought to be non-alcoholic beer, seemed to taste different. I look at the label to see that it is a regular alcoholic heineken beer, She came to take our order and walked away as I was trying to point out she gave me the wrong beer. My friend took the beer to the bar and said "you just gave somebody that has not had a drop of alcohol in 41 years their 1st alcoholic beverage". The bartender who was the owner / manager.acted like this was no big deal and even SMILED and LUAGHED as the drunks at the bar joked about it. No apology at all! After about 2 hours our food finally arrived, the steak I will admit was decent, but the vegetables were all stringing like they came from a cheap frozen Walmart bag. I get my bill AND THE ALCOHOL THEY TOOK MY 41 YEARS OF NOT HAVING ANY ALCOHOL AWAY FROM ME WITH, WAS STILL ON MY BILL!!!
And STILL no apology, even when i pionted out that they could have at least have apologized. He finally took the alcohol off my bill when I complained about it, but didn't discount anything by even a dime after telling the manager / owner what a horrible experience it was. PLEASE read my other Google reviews, 95+% are VERY positive, so I don't think I can be classified or dismissed as a "Complainer ". I cannot recommend them, they did NOT seem to care if we were there, what they did, how we were treated, or what they served us, no matter what the consequences were. Even the tables around us thought they handled it with a total lack of respect.

Valentine's special was sub standard and over priced for what we got. Baked potato under cooked, prime rib soaked in odd au jus , an inch of warm champagne was served at the end of meal in a plastic cup, the 2 desserts we requested to go they mushed together in one clam shell to go. Went out to try something new. Andrea our server was great! The bartender was also lovely and assisted with a wine recommendation. Wine was a very generous pour as well! Food was sub par at best. I had the NY strip with 3 grilled shrimp. Was cooked the way I asked, but was also under seasoned and the mushrooms on it were obviously canned. (Yuck!) my shrimp were lovely! Friend I was with ordered the grilled walleye, you could tell it was a frozen filet and had tons of bones in it.
Won’t be our first choice, but we may try again maybe when they’re busier in the summer and are going through more product.

I don’t like to leave a bad review but boy do they need some help here. Waited over 20 minutes to be helped. Asked the 2 waitresses sitting rolling silverware if I could grab menus because we hadn’t been helped yet. They said sure. Never let anyone else know.

A server came, she was nice. Said they didn’t know whose table it was. (I’ve served I understand) but to walk by 10+ times without a word or look is crazy. We got the wrong drink 2x, I got an Apple martini and it was terrible. The German platter food was good. Salad bar was very lack luster.

Where do I even start… worst food I’ve ever eaten. Went for the prime rib on Saturday night. First off, the salad bar was terrible! The iceberg lettuce was wilted and see-through. No toppings aside from onion, radish, bac-o-bits and cheap croutons. Dressings were commercially made and were either from a bottle or can- they were terrible. The “beer cheese soup” tasted of Cambell’s plain cheese soup and water. Didn’t even bother to try to doctor it up at all. The prime rib was actually cooked perfectly but was obviously left over from Friday night and didn’t even have one grain of salt or any seasoning whatsoever-completely tasteless. The au gratin potatoes were baked in the same cheese soup that I referenced previously-complete laziness. The staff was dressed in hoodies and athletic wear which also gave a sense of lack of caring. I can’t believe we paid over $100 plus tip for such a terrible meal. I am completely disappointed and will not return. Just hope we don’t get sick from the food. No wonder the place was virtually empty on a Saturday night. So sad.

This was our(my girlfriend and I) first time dining here, so we didn't know what to expect. Upon arival, it was "seat yourself" which was nice. Unfortunately, this was about the only highlight of the evening.

Service was painfully slow, even though it was not busy for a Friday night at 7:00. We waited 15 minutes before ANYONE acknowledged us and brought us menues and took our drink order. After another 15 minutes of waiting for two diet sodas we were ready to leave.

After deciding to stay, we finally got our drinks and ordered(prime rib special and the fish fry). We headed up for our single trip to the soup and salad bar, which was poorly stocked and there was basically a half kettle of warm broth for soup.

Our food arrived warm and in a timely manner. I will note the menu prices are OUTRAGEOUS for what you get. "KING CUT" prime rib for $40, and it was at best a 16oz mediocre cut of meat with a tiny serving of microwaved mashed potatoes. The fish fry however was great at $16! Two GIANT pieces of fish and a baked potato. We finished our meals and our bill was left.

I put my card in the holder and proceeded to wait for our server to come back and process it. Upon giving her 15 minutes, there was no sight of her(yes, you pay at your table). I pulled my card and left cash, begrudgingly leaving a generous 10% tip.

We are a very understanding and friendly couple, and our limits were definitely tested. Unfortunately we will not be dining here again. Service was painstakingly slow, the menu prices are OUTRAGEOUS, and the overall experience was very disappointing. Unless you have an entire evening to waste and a deep wallet, enjoy yourself!

The lettuce was almost gone but enough for two of us. There were onion slices, cottage cheese, bacon bits, and croutons and that was it. I didn't have the dinner roll but my boyfriend said it was good.
The food surprisingly didn't take too long. I had the prime rib. Was it good? Yes it was actually really tasty. Was it worth $40? No. While the flavor was good, it was a lot smaller and tougher than it should have been for that price. My boyfriend had the fish fry and he said that was really good and at $16 it was much more worth the price.
The server brought boxes and the check pretty quickly but only because I flagged her down when she was helping someone else. She left the check and we waited for about 20 more minutes before we gave up and just put cash down and left.
Overall we were pretty disappointed with the experience. The food was good but it was very overpriced and the service was definitely lacking.

We visited the Shoreview Supper Club right as the dinner rush was subsiding. It did appear there were only a handful of servers at this time. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they just needed to catch up and clear and cash out out a few tables. After about 10 minutes we were greeted and our dirty table was wiped down. We were provided with a carafe of water that got our glasses about half full and we were told our server would be there soon. After another 15 minutes had passed we assumed they had to be getting close to waiting on us. That’s when we saw an adjacent table who had also not been waited on decide to get up and leave. We figured that we should be next up this point and decided to keep waiting. Another 10 minutes had passed and as most tables had closed out by now we had seen less and less of the servers. At this point a member of our party decided to go ask if a server could come by and wait on us. She received an indiscernible response and STILL a server refused to come over to the table. It was at this point that we finally accepted defeat. This marks the first time I have ever left a restaurant without getting served. I hope that they are able to improve in the future. However, until then I can not recommend stepping foot in this establishment.

I'm not so sure I would call this place a supper club. More like a bar with a restaurant. The staff is friendly enough. Some good views of a lake. The food need some help though. We ordered the filet mignon and it came out without any type of seasoning on it, no salt, no pepper, nothing. Salad bar was nothing to write home about. It right next to Valhalla campground. We used to gave 2 cabins here. No we aren't rich just at different 5ined we had a cabin here. Only upset is it's too high of a lot rent. A group of 9 of us stopped on a Friday night. Although there were only 4 other tables with customers, the food took awhile to come out of the kitchen. Mine was the first plate to be served- I had the Friday Fish special and fries. The fries were cold and the fish was lukewarm at best. Everyone at the table had a similar complaint- the food was either cold or barely warm. One person had to send the fish back because it was raw. I will say that the waitress was very polite and friendly.

Lousy overpriced food, no rolls, scrubby salad bar. Indianhead Supper Club in Balsam is the place to go. Don't waste your time at this place.
We are sorry we did. Homemade cocktail sauce that was so incredibly sick, and chewy ribs, that had to be sent back. Left hungry. Not recommending, never going back.

Classic old school supper club. Basic supper club food. Shore fries are good! It's noce to get grilled shrimp vs fried. Great deck over the lake. Wow. Awesome stop.

Both times I've been to this place, our food was lousy. Overpriced, didn't have what we wanted (their so-called famous walleye), and the decor is cheesy. The only plus is they make good drinks and have a nice deck to overlook the lake. Stop here for a cocktail, but avoid everything else!
