This was our first visit. We tried the Country Fried Steak and the Farmers skillet -- both were hot, fresh and delicious. Our server was friendly but not very attentive. The only problem we encountered was the noise level which made it difficult to talk. Next time we will sit outside if tge weather permits it. We will definitely return.

The host had us wait. White customers came after us and she gave them menus to look over while they waited. Not once did she ever offer black customers menus.
The food was amazing as usual though.

Really good food at reasonable prices. Service was great! Five stars! One star taken down because they wouldn't split the check for our group of 7. I assume it's because of credit cards fees. We had one person pay and we sent her the money.
They had two claw machines and some slot machines. My friend put in $5 and won $50.
Lots of vegan options, is why I picked this spot. Vegan burrito was delicious. Would definitely go back. I order the oyster mushroom sandwich to go for lunch.
Bathroom were clean. Space was clean. Very interesting art.

Six of us went for a late breakfast today and were immediately seated and asked about drinks. We knew it was a busy day, but we weren’t rushed at all. Our server was so nice and all staff were very friendly and kind. The meals were big and unique and delicious! Bloody Mary’s are spicy and great. Good coffee too. French toast, pulled ham and the biscuits were some highlights. We will be back!

Im a gluten free/celiac person and let me tell you right now....THAT SPICY FIRED OYSTER MUSHROM SANDWHICH is ridiculous and exquisite. So grateful for the separate surfaces and fryer so I can enjoy a sandwich like a free range chicken I am.
All jokes aside. Ill be back in reality and my dreams because eating here was otherworldly and refreshing.

Stopped by for dinner on a Wednesday and both my partner and I were really impressed! I got the seasonal risotto and my partner got the vegan Mac and both were phenomenal. Really tasty, well portioned meals made with fresh ingredients. The staff were very friendly and our server was wonderful. Cute, quirky, and classy decor. Lots of vegan options on the menu, I highly recommend stopping by. We will definitely be back!

The place was cool, good and fast service. I really appreciate that there are so many vegan options. And I want to give some feedback on the vegan breakfast burrito- it tastes like there is either cinnamon or cardamom or some sort of spice associated with pumpkin spice in the tofu that totally throws off the entire flavor of the burrito. Which is such a bummer because otherwise it’s a delicious burrito- the tortilla is amazing, tofu is well cooked, and I love the crunch from the hash brown. But the flavor was impossible to get over for me. I’d love to see that changed out for kala namak(black salt), which would give the tofu a more eggy flavor.

My boyfriend and I were driving from Chicago back to Appleton and Googled "Milwaukee brunch spots". They had high ratings and a menu we loved so we decided to stop in. So glad we did. Such a great vibe just walking up to the place. Cute little neighborhood. Inside--more great vibes. And the food was fabulous! We forgot to take pictures, but I had the breakfast sandwich and had bacon added. Absolutely delicious. That biscuit was

Be aware that the patio has a RUDELY enforced and unposted restriction on time. I ordered my food to go because I know I can’t finish the entire burger in one sitting and don’t want to waste dish wear. I was asked to leave VERY rudely after sitting for an hour and 20 minutes (4:45-6pm) when I was just about to head out. Was told there was a huge rush and long wait for the patio - when I went inside there were TWO occupied tables and nobody waiting. Really a shame that the female server speaks to people this way. The male server was super kind and helpful. I had previously considered this to be a good spot to grab a bite and read or get some work done. Won’t be back after being kicked out and lied to.

Great food for a gluten free person such as myself. The waiter may have been the owner but he was great. Hip spot in what looks like a bad neighborhood. They do cool neighborhood stuff like block parties and festivals so don’t be too wary of the location.

LOTS of vegetarian selections. They fooled me. Looks simple, artsy & low key with loud music, young birds boho vibe, energetic, fun, playful waitstaff who accurately described menu options!
“Stuffed pasta” was homemade and as good as any 4 star establishment! My date’s “chicken pot pie” was homey, seasoned very well, and generously portioned! (I never liked chix pot pie…
until now) Just the kind of place I would find in NYC, CA, MINNESOTA & CANADA!
Do yourself a favor… discover or RE-discover WONDERLAND!! They respect the fresh veggie! Whoever is the chef?
Thank you for a great, healthy, delish and totally enjoyable Sunday dinner!!!

BRUNCH. My husband wanted to bring me here because he'd had (and LURVED) the country fried steak. I looked at the menu and ordered the chicken and waffles. The country fried steak was great, the chicken and waffles was LIFE ALTERING. Call me hyperbolic, I do not care. It is absolutely worth a try. The textures, the flavors, it's insane. Unlike anything I've ever had, and it's consistently so good it makes me want to cry.
Other things we've enjoyed are the Blood Maria (better than any other I've had) Big City Breakfast, and they're also consistently amazing.
OMG THE DINNER IS AMAZING! General Tsao Chicken Sandwich made me want to cry and the buffalo mac n cheese were INCREDIBLE!

We had our mother's day brunch here after our reservation at a different establishment fell through. This was plan B because we were too afraid of planning on a place that didn't take reservations. When we arrived, much to our surprise, they had plenty of space! We got right in and had a wonderful mother's day brunch. Can't wait to visit again. Don't skip the pie. I've been to Wonderland a couple times now, and have enjoyed the experience both times. Friendly staff, great food, cool atmosphere. We haven't had an issue getting a table when we had a party of 4. Even the standard burger is nice and juicy, and full of flavor, and the gluten free bun it came on was better than your average gluten free bun. I was going to take pictures of my food, but I ate it too fast!

I was pretty disappointed by our first experience. It was on a Sunday, but there were four or more tables that no one was sitting at yet people were waiting inside and outside. We waited there a half an hour, and no one was seated at the empty tables. The restaurant seemed disorganized. One of the patrons children was spinning in a circle throughout the middle of the restaurant unabated. He was getting in the way of the wait staff and he was disruptive to other patrons, but nobody stopped him from doing that. I ordered a recommended burrito only to find out that the chorizo and it was so hot that it was in edible. Nowhere in the description did they mention it was hot. I eat Chirizo all the time but this was very hot and really greasy. Skip it totally.I didn't have an opportunity to wait for them to prepare me a new selection so I ended up eating cold dry toast. It was also Too pricey for the crowded loud atmosphere and slow seating. Our waitress was nice, but I definitely don't plan on coming back. BTW the owners posted a rude response with no apologies. That says all you need to know about this dive.

Long wait for Sunday Brunch but we went next door to Art Bar and had delicious bloody Marys while we waited. They make their mix from scratch and it is excellent. Wonderful service and love the vintage vibe of the place!! Only one suggestion: the ratatouille omelet came with vegetables that were barely sauteed. Since ratatouille is a long - cooking dish, I was imagining roasted vegetables, not just-chopped ones that saw one minute in the pan. It's basically a fresh veggie omelet.

We visited specifically for one dish, but unfortunately, they were out of it. I ended up ordering the chicken sandwich and requested the sauce on the side, but it arrived with mayo on it—which I really dislike. I also found it odd that there was an extra charge for a side like fries when ordering a sandwich. The decor and artwork were definitely cool, but we were seated next to a very loud and disruptive group, which made the experience less enjoyable. My mom had the burger and thought it was just average. Overall, I don’t think we’ll be returning.
Edit: I have attached a photo of the sauce that came on my sandwich. I had asked for no blue cheese and the hot sauce on the side but the sauce on the sandwich doesn't appear to be blue cheese nor did it taste like it. Also, such attitude is very unprofessional from a business.

The food was great however it took far too long to come to the table. It took 50 minutes from the time the order was put in until the food arrived, and the wait staff didn't check on us once the whole time until we called him over. It would've made for a great lunch otherwise, as everything was prepared perfectly however it would've been nice to have someone check in on us to let us know what the delay was about.

I would like to preface this review by saying that the food is great! However, the service lately has been, shall we say, prickly.
I have been coming here as part of a weekly social event for the past few years, as it was nearby. We usually go as a group of 4-8, sitting in the large room in the back.y favorite items to order are the Wally Bowl and Tofu Wings. To be honest, every item I've ordered has been wonderful (no pun intended). The ambiance is cute and kind of quirky, a perfect reflection of the neighborhood.
Starting early this year, the main server whom we have had for years has lately shown reluctance in seating a large group without a reservations, even though there is no requirement. In the event more people show up (for example, 8 people instead of 5), she would complain about serving us, citing lack of tables. There has never been a lack of tables, as we usually arrive between 6:45-7pm.
Today, she flat out refused to seat our group, so we left for another restaurant.
Needless to say, Wonderland has lost a loyal group of patrons.

It’s 8:24pm and the closes at 9pm. The store is only open for 5 hrs a day. Why is it that I get here to order a to -go meal the worker says, we only have a few dishes available. I tried to hold back my reviews that I had in the past but this is the end. I will not returning here . This is my 3rd time being here, the 1st time it was hair in my food, the 2nd time they served a half cooked Nashville sandwich and now it something else.

Good lord! I was NOT expecting that! There were so many incredible vegetarian options—and not just meat substitutes. My partner is a carnivore, and I’m an herbivore, so he got the corned beef hash while I went for the corned BEET hash (the veg version). He loved his, but I told him he had to at least try mine. He ended up saying he might have loved mine even more because it was so unexpected. Incredible flavors and textures with that confit!
And the French toast? Out of this world. Bloody Marys? Perfection. So yes. Highly recommend it everything we tried.
But the best part of all was the service.

I pass this diner everyday and decided to stop in with my children for a Saturday lunch. Let's start by saying how CLEAN and chill the atmosphere is. I was blased to have Ben as my waiter. Fabulous person, Omg. He was so awesome. My 3 children are a bit busy and he had no problem assisting me . Things would fall on the floor and he would appear out of no where and pick it up lol. Really nice human being. As far as the food... I had the shrimp po boy.. I didn't enjoy the bread so much , it was over powering the 4 shrimp they had on the sandwich lol. So I just ate the shrimp. I also had French toast. That was okay. My son's burger and fries were delicious tho. I want to try that next. Overall, it's a nice place to go if you want to feel loved and fed.

I now know what prison food must taste like. I had the fried chicken special. Let me say the worst meal in years. 40.00 dollars later, ugh. So mash potato's so soupy they came in a bowl like porridge. On top of the potato's was a gravy they called mushroom gravy. No mushrooms and sweet like two bottles of red wine poured in and reduced. Please go taste a mushroom gravy somewhere so you know what it tastes like. On to the broccolini. Steamed,no hint of anything. Just a couple of soggy stalks in a dish. Not even a lemon wedge. Finally, the chicken. While it was moist inside the breading(cornmeal based) was so overdone that it disintegrated into tiny shards all over the table. The color was dark brown to black in spots.
I will say i have had breakfast there and enjoyed it. So, I'm sticking with that from now on because I do enjoy having a restaurant in my neighborhood.

This last time was for Sunday brunch. The chicken fried steak is delicious and would highly recommend it.
Never has there been a more sausagey gravy.

The service is prompt, bathrooms clean and the layout/atmosphere is welcoming.

Went for the first time with a small group, where we agonized over the vast and varied menu for some time before finally ordering. I was intrigued by several of the vegan and vegetarian dishes, and settled on the Beet Reuben Sandwich. One of our group also ordered Brussels Sprouts for the table. They were pretty delicious, if a bit greasy. My sandwich was huge and totally satisfying. Beats, sauerkraut, nice bread, don't recall the other ingredients. I mooched some fries from the friend beside me: they were standard but yummy. The server seemed a little standoffish at first, but turned out to be great, and I loved the diner atmosphere. If I lived in Milkwaukee, that'd be a place I'd visit often.

We did the take out. Great food/flavor.
1. Distribution of burrito contents were “off” like getting all the avocado in one side or getting all the potatoes in the other.
2. The salsa is delicious- not too hot but just enough kick!
3. Recommend restaurant does something for the biscuit to hold the structure and contents of the biscuit sandwich- bigger biscuit or toast it or make it thicker or something.
4. Need silverware for all the to-go stuff- since it might be hard to eat without it.
We will be back!

Great happy hour, solid fish fry, bartender and server who took my order were great too.
Had an odd interaction with a manager-type person however. When I asked if the fish special of the day was good, he said it was horrible. I asked a follow up question if it was bad and he said yes. So I ordered the cod and he yelled back at me that the cod was even worse. Perhaps he was joking but nobody around was laughing. Don't really understand the joke of saying your restaurant's food is bad regardless.
It's nice to order in the restaurant and eat at the bar with the happy hour.

The food was served cold and wasn't very good. We had to send back burned onion rings. Wonderful place with very laid back vibe! Food is amazing and reasonably priced. Excellent options for vegans and vegetarians as well. The vegan breakfast burrito is amazing! We go often on weekend mornings and have never had to wait. Highly recommend.

We’ve come here almost monthly for brunch for the past 10 months because of the consistently fantastic service and equally delicious food. Tons of options for every dietary preference and every single thing I’ve tried has been great! Big portions, decent prices, relaxing atmosphere, incredible service… ya just can’t get any better than this place! Oh, the fact that the staff has been exactly the same for almost a year leads me to believe they’re treated well and enjoy working there? No dollar better spent than at a business that treats their folks right! Thank you all for the guaranteed amazing experience every g-dang time!

Wonderful welcoming staff with super fresh, delicious food. Salad was great and they offered a wide array of homemade dressings. We had their burger and it was absolutely fantastic. The beef was rich in flavor, and the cheese was melting off it. With the fresh veggies, everything left us incredibly satisfied and in a better mood than when we first arrived. Highly recommend especially to
support local business

Been here twice and had the chicken pot pie and a burger. Both meals were phenomenal. The place is very cute on the inside as well. Service was spotty but I would never let that stop you from having the great food they offer here

Food is just okay, but the vibe is great. A favorite hangover brunch spot. I like the onion jam on the brunch biscuit sandwich. Vegan and vegetarian friendly.

This is definitely a wonderful restaurant. We went on a Saturday morning and were greeted by the most gracious host who allowed us to sit wherever we wanted. Kevan was our waiter, and he just didn’t seem very interested in us as customers. He wasn’t very friendly or patient. He really made us feel like we were always bothering him which didn’t make us feel comfortable at all. Thankfully our food was good to us. We had biscuits and gravy and a classic breakfast which included sausage, rye bread toast, eggs and hash browns. We also got a slice of pecan pie to go. Wonderland is a wonderful place for some wonderful food. I hope Kevan have brighter days!!!!

Milwaukee needs to get its vegetarian/ vegan house in order. This place has vegan/ vegetarian options on the menu but can’t cook any of that with flavor. The big city breakfast came w veggie Patty’s that were like cardboard and soy chorizo over cooked like eating gravel. It was spicy despite waiter saying it wasn’t, but wouldn’t be enough spice for someone who actually like spice. So like Spicy rocks. The hashbrowns were the worst I’ve had in my entire life. They weren’t burnt but were so dry it was like eating twigs. Also smallest portion I’ve seen at a restaurant w hashbrowns on menu and this particular dish costs 20$! It also came w a slice of the worst French toast I’ve ever had. Too much nutmeg or some other spice with cinnamon so that it turned the whole thing an unappealing brown and there was hardly any egg it seemed just like some gross spice on the wrong kind of bread, served dried out like a crouton on the edges and freezing cold. I was in a very good mood today despite this being the worst brunch I’ve ever eaten. I was starving so I forced myself to eat most of it urged on by my partner to be polite. But I’m poor and sometimes only get 1 good meal a day. So it was like someone took his 20$ for my meal but I was still starving when we left w no food at home. When grocery shopping is as expensive as it is, you’d expect someone paid to cook to be better at it or the restaurant to come up w better working conditions and recipes. I don’t want to be a hater I really want to like this place, the shroom burger is the only thing that’s been good so far and it’s MID. Also the Brussels sprouts appetizer was great and so was the blueberry tea. But at 5$ For a small cup w no water refills, I’d rather make it at home.
Last note beyond the bad food
The decor, looks like 20 art students had a competition to have the most cliche and unharmonious design elements crammed into a single space to the point of feeling a bit dizzy after a few mins. Comfortable booths with ugly upholstery from bench to drapes. Decent 50s style tables, they should have leaned into the design of w the sharp look of the bar area, could have been classy retro. But it’s all over the place w circus patterned walls backdropping what could be a cute cow neon light if not for the horrific design elements around it. Nice photo realistic mural of nature and cool rainbow geometric murals battle one another in a baffling display in the main entrance room. It looks like someone with ADHD went on a buying spree of clearance design elements. The floor wouldn’t be so bad if everything else wasn’t so confused.
Lighting choice at the entrance is cool but clashes with the main lighting. I guess if you were going for an adderall fueled futuristic retro 50s update… this still isn’t it.
Staff has always been super nice but now I’m thinking it’s that kind of over nice bc they know the food often sucks too.
I know with all my complaints this is crazy to say but I know I’ll get dragged back there again someday and will try their mediocre small portioned but expensive Mac n cheese that I think a friend had ( she said it wasn’t great)
I just wish restaurants would stop pretending they offer vegan and vegetarian options, when all they have to offer is a small piece of bland dry cardboard for 20$ plus tip. Making good veggie food is REALLY not this hard but running a good restaurant is.
Hopefully they will improve but I’m not sure I’ll be going there again before they go out of business. They started ok and every experience food wise gets worse as time goes on.

We had a really nice meal here. My partner eats meat, and I do not so this was a good spot for us. This was our first time here and I think I expected some thing a little more upscale. However, it was great it was very comfortable and inviting the music happened to the excellent while we were there it was a Sunday evening and therefore, the gallery space was not open. We will have to come back to see that. Our server, whose name I unfortunately don’t remember, was absolutely wonderful, and made some great recommendations to us.

I really do not understand why this place is not busier at all times. The menu is excellent, wide-ranging, and it's all very, very good. My favorites are the Nashville hot chicken, the Wally Bowl, and the Friday fish fry, which was good in the past but is now closer to a dedicated fish art form, by which I mean it is fabulous. You should give this place a shot!

I love the Art Bar and enjoy Wonderland. Finding a good fish fry in the city is difficult, especially since the departure of Klinger’s. Fries and clam chowder were great. $20 for all is super reasonable. Pan fish, like perch, just weren’t meant to be over breaded like that. Not to mention how boney the fish was. I’ve been frying pan fish my whole life and am just looking for a good, traditional lightly breaded fish fry in the city. I’ll keep going to wonderland, but keep looking for a good fish fry.

Took an hour for a take out order, food was cold. Plated very messy. The ham was dry and hard to eat. Hash brown dry as well. Eggs cold. I’m not sure if the food was sitting on the line and no one noticed. I was not happy nor impressed. Ruined my appetite.
