Came up here on an invite from Brian Clark. Pretty good turnout for the car show. Nice place I'll have to come back here for prime rib.

Dining could be updated, But it's still the place to eat if you find yourself in Lyons if you're not trying to either wait forever, or spend $$$. Pros: Burgers are better than fast food, dinners are nice enough for price, better on the special nights. Revisit when I'm in town 710

Stopped here for cocktails and was pleasantly surprised. Service was awesome, and the owner explained the history of the business prior to them owning it, and after. The last place I thought I would see a Golden Tee Golf game.

Saturday night I was in the southeast region of Wisconsin and I met up with a friend RF and we decided to go to the metropolis of Lyons Wisconsin population 3648. We both wanted to try Ye Olde Hotel Bar and Restaurant. We started at the bar where I got my $5 whiskey old fashioned and Ron got a Miller High Life. Shortly we were escorted to our table. By this time our drinks were almost gone and Ron decided for a shot of jag. As we looked over the menu and our waitress came over, we decided to go a little different route and try try the potstickers. I thought they were delicious. With my meal I got a salad and got french onion soup with cheese. He was so happy to only get charged $1 for cheese. Ron wanted the prime rib but it was the Saturday night special and was already sold out. Thus, we both went with the steer fillet medium rare and a lobster Add-On for $25. We both thought that was a great deal. Ron got his steak with blue cheese and I got mine with mushrooms. I didn't get any dessert but Ron got a blueberry cheesecake to go.

Our food as always was amazing. The AYCE whitefish is outrageous.
However, and it's a big however....our server, Red, is her name. Terrible attitude towards the patrons. And it isn't the first time. We came in with a large party and we all noticed what a crappy unfriendly attitude and disposition she has. And unfortunately it isn't the first time.
I know how busy it gets. It's not our first rodeo here at ye olde. We love the place. But Red, as she's called. Needs an attitude adjustment or another job. We ended up leaving her a large tip which she did not deserve even half. I know it gets crazy busy but you can take our drink and our food order at the same time. I promise it won't hurt. And you can even smile too.
I recommend this place for the food but not for this particular server. And the thing is, she was quite pleasant with everyone else as I saw.
Go for the whitefish. You won't be disappointed.

Heather and her husband are very welcoming. We had the fried chicken dinner and I'm telling you it was outstanding!! Great drinks and interesting history throughout the restaurant. It's like a small local museum. Keep that in mind while looking at all of the vintage artifacts! I highly recommend giving them a visit!!!

The place is a wreck. The table we sat at leaned so much the it felt like I was sitting in a hole. The service was awful and rude except for the young lady who gave us water. The server was never to be seen again after she dropped the food and then gave to give us the overpriced bill, which was odd because there were only a few people in the place (wonder why??). The food was so bad it made me sick! The tiny pieces (3) of battered fish had no significant breading and tasted raw. I told the server, when she delivered, that I wanted the battered fish, and she remarked that was a battered fish. The French baked soup tasted like water mixed with canned onion soup and the fries were hard. I don't have to tell you about the bread and coffee. Just an awful place. Never again. Beware all! I was at the establishment 30 years ago and didn't think it could get worse. Wow!

Needed a place that was between my friend's house and mine. Somewhere comfortable for a "catch up" dinner. This restaurant was in the right place and AUCE fish sounded really good. It was!
The food was very good and the decor around the place was even better. If you want to go back in time a little bit or just appreciate a dining room with a museum attitude, this is a place you really want to stop at. So many cool items to catch your eye.
Not sure how to describe the service... The bartender also took care of us in the dining room. Makes sense not to have a large staff since most of the people were in the bar area. There were 2 tables occupied (this was a weekday) and another person wasn't necessary. As I mentioned, we wanted a catch up kind of dinner. We were in it for the long haul and talking a lot and weren't really interested in the "in your face" service. She was SUPER friendly and kept us fed and watered! We were happy with it. If you want a server that is all over you, keep in mind that common sense staffing might not get you that here - at least not during the week. Can't talk about weekends.
If you want good food, very cool decor and friendly service, you need to stop in here. This is an easy to get to, laid back small town restaurant that you will enjoy.

As always we had an amazing experience. Food was cooked to perfection. Amazing Old Fashion drink and perfectly cooked prime rib. Owners, Heather & Joe are great. We really love this place.

It's a very nice old-style restaurant. The food was very good. The king $24 prime rib was very good, and the sides were tasty as well. The staff is very friendly, and you feel like it is a family-owned business. Prices are very nice compared to Lake Geneva prices, and it's only a 10-minute drive from Grand Geneva Resort. I highly recommend this place if you visit Lake Geneva and you want to get away from the tourist trap.

A group of us drove up from Huntley Illinois on Wednesday evening. We had 8 people. The service was extremely personal and enjoyable. We started with $5.00 old fashions . They are excellent. House salad was nice with plenty of extras, broccoli and cauliflower. I had the white fish and there was a large serving with choice of side. You could get more if you wanted but what was served was plenty.. this place has so much history and is definitely worth a road trip.

The Wife and I came in for a great experience today. We had the fried cheese curds to start, I had the fried perch and she had a pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Both of us enjoyed the great food. Husband loved the fish fry. My food was terrible. My $5 salad wasn't worth $2. The french onion soup all you could taste was sage and my mozzarella sticks were over cooked and served on a bed of french fries that tasted fishy. My mother in law had the chicken. Looked great but again all you could taste was sage. I won't be back. Very disappointed.

Had to make reservations, only slot/time open 7:30pm, the kitchen closes at 8pm Friday night. Bartender was nice & knowledgeable but had to push us to table after ordering drinks at bar. The waitress was professional but not friendly/welcoming. The food was outstanding; tasty & cooked perfectly; had salmon, bluegill & cod nicely presented on plate. Was felt rushed to get the hell outta there. Don't accept reservations after 7pm then...

We were recommended to Ye Olde Hotel and Bar for Friday Fish Fry. When I checked the website to see if they offered Walleye (my favorite) I didn't see that we "needed" reservations. We drove from Lauderdale Lakes and even got there early (4:30) in hopes to beat the Friday Fish Fry dinner rush. BEHOLD, the sign on the door said: "Reservations Recommended". No worries, there were barely any people in the restaurant and pretty much no one in the bar. GREAT!
Well, no. We walked in and were greeted with "Do you have reservations?". No, but there are three of us (again, barely anyone there). "It's going to be an hour wait". UMMMM what? "We are backed up on reservations". UMMMMM what? I will reiterate, that there was an almost empty dining area and like one guy at the bar.
So, we asked if we could sit in the bar area and have a few of their "famous" Old Fashioneds. Sure... great. Yeah, mom can't get up on the barstools. I asked if we could sit at a table. They hummed and hawed and finally said, I guess you could sit at a table in here while you wait for your table. So we did. A few minutes went by and I finally got up and went to the bar to order our drinks. The Old Fashioneds were delicious as advertised, but so far I'm not impressed with the service. I'm sad.
Low and behold, mom proclaims "Hey lady! Nice to see you!" I turn around and a friend from Elkhorn is standing next to our table. After hugs, she lets us know that she loves this place and is there literally every Friday night for fish. We chat it up for a bit and she heads to the bar.
Almost instantly the bartender is bringing us menus at the "forbidden" table, taking our orders, and suddenly paying close attention to our needs. HMMMMM. Was it because of our friend? I'm saying probably.
Well, the food was terrific. I loved the Walleye. The drinks were delicious and after our friend who is a regular arrived, the service turned out to be good.
All I can say is that upon arrival the hostess was rude and seemed like we were inconveniencing everyone by even walking in the door. I am, however, happy we stuck it out, our friend prompted service, and we enjoyed delicious drinks and delicious fish fry.

**** Rewrite of post ****
They could use some help to handle the service. So with that said the service was slow. They did mention that they were short on staff. But that didn't bother me as I'm usually ne er in any rush. But i did expect the quality of the food to be better.
I ordered the meatloaf it had good flavor but it was a notch above warm. Took 25 minutes to get my order after waitress took my order. So this being said I believe that the meatloaf was precooked and refrigerated so the had to reheat.

Arrived on a Saturday night with another couple. Dining area was uncomfortably cold at almost 7pm. During the order process asked that 2 checks be prepared. Was told that was not possible. Huh? No further explanation. Ordered drinks and then a second round which took prompting to receive after waiting more than 15 minutes. Place was not that busy. After average meal, waiting at least 10 minutes after everyone was done to get a check. Check had no detail for liquor which seemed high. So another 5 minutes to get a list of drinks - which included stuff from another table. Oh, wait - so another 5 minutes and the bill was wrong again. Finally at least 30 minutes after finishing dinner we got a correct bill. Really sad that a restaurant can be this inept.

Best.Fish.EVER! I have never described fried fish as light, fluffy, delicate & the breading very thin, crispy. Not limp, not greasy. All you can eat every Wednesday & Friday with coleslaw, potato or veggies, grainey rolls - 10 bucks. Great food with very attentive Carmen at your service. Oh, and don't miss the $3 Old Fashioned. You can order off the full menu if you prefer. Seafood lovers - Lobster Tail, Surf & Turf (with Filet). A genuine hidden gem in Lyons, WI, about 10 minutes from Lake Geneva.

Good fish fry. Except for 6 toddlers running around the bar the service was decent and the fish was good. Interesting place with a old charm, worth a visit for sure.

We had a nice fish fry tonight, whitefish, did and perch were all good. Home-made fries and potato pancakes. Seafood chowder was very good. Nice crowd, but not a long wait. We will come back.

Had the all you can eat White Fish fry with the homemade potato pancakes, and it was very good! Fish was lightly breaded & cooked to perfection. The only complaint was the service was fairly slow, but the food came out very quick. New owners seem to be doing something right!
