I was going to go across the street, but it looked a little bit busy and I just love Pho so I choose ZAAB. Very nice atmosphere, clean friendly and very quick to service. I went for the beef Pho and I could not believe how delicious the flavor was. I've had Pho many times before, but this really had to be the most delicious of all.I didn't even want to ruin it by adding the sauces or even a lime. Do you have a full service bar?Lots of choices there in the food is reasonably priced. When i'm in the mood, I'll be back.

I was slightly disappointed in the restaurant because I was going off the pictures online and made me think the restaurant was bigger than it was, but it was nice and the service was great.

Party of 7 with reservations. Due to severe storm, we ran about 15 mins. late--I called ahead. Our table was waiting, but we also had to wait, and wait. Our waitress was pleasant, but service was very slow. The apps we ordered were good to very good. Calamari, tuna croquettes, vegetable tempura. 2 ordered hibachi, which was good but priced at $39, with no leftovers. Ribs ordered were good (these 3 dinners came with a good salad) Udon noodles (had to try them) were good and ample. Broth was meh. Other 3 orders were Ramen. Rice noodles, not like packages of ramen....unappetizing half-cooked egg on top of granddaughers bowl. I enjoyed the kelp, she did not. Maybe just too traditional of food for us. Expensive, slow service, and not to our taste.

ZAAB is very quaint and seems to be a local favorite.
I visited on a Sunday, so it was very slow and we received friendly service.
There is a large selection of items to choose from, which made it hard to narrow down because they all were so enticing, but I decided to go with the shrimp pho.

Absolutely fanominal experience. I loved our server (Kate with a K), she was so kind and really made our experience here stunning. Speaking of experience, wonderful decor lightened our area, lively music, clean space and enough table room for multiple dishes (For a party of ten!!). Finally, the food. The food was amazing, great variety of spices and textures. I personally loved the Katsu Chicken and loved the Gysoza. I go to multiple Asian restaurants and order Gysoza, but this one was one of my top picks. Overall amazing experience, 10/10 would recommend!

I am all about posting positive reviews to assist growth of restaurants and businesses. And I really do not like to do this, but our experience was not very good. And the staff has much room for improvement. I was a professionally trained and schooled head chef and if my front of house staff did this I would re train all of them myself.

Let's start with positive. Food was good.

And some context. This is a 40 top room with 3 waiters and a bus person. Easily manageable by a single very competent waiter or two good waiters.

Now I will list some things about our experience that are not so good.

We had a dinner reservation. And a party of 4 without one walked in and got a table before us. They were served immediately.

We were not acknowledged for 5 minutes while we stood confused patiently.

We are finally sat. And we waited nearly 30 min before politely asking if we can have menus and water.

Another 15 min before our waitress arrives. We politely discuss that we are a little frustrated and ask why we have been treated this way. We are cut off twice when speaking and our concerns are basically ignored.

We see 2 parties of two walk in(separate over the course of an hour) and stand to be seated where they are not acknowledged for 10 min and eventually leave. We were near the door so I actually apologized to them and told them we had a similar experience and I'm not sure why the service is like this. It's quite simple. You see new customers. You make eye contact even if you are busy and say "hey thanks for coming in! We'll be right with ya!"

A couple next to us was served ice cream and not given spoons. They ate it with forks.

Our salad plates were very hot and caused the lettuce to wilt. Salad plates should be cold.

At this point we were joking about how bad the service was and kind of making it a game. It was funny to us that the absolute basic mechanics of running a restaurant in regards to service were so blatantly ignored.

We flagged down our waitress again to get the check and a box, which took 15 more min and the box was forgotten. We just wanted to leave at that point so we just left the leftovers we would have taken home. We wanted dessert but did not want to reward the restaurant with more money so we went elsewhere.

Please. Train your staff better. This experience was not okay. The ambiance and food is very good and this restaurant has incredible potential. But if the front of house can't perform. Then it's not going to work.

Some tips to improve.

The two top by the door should be removed and replaced with a hostbooth. Hire a hostand staff them during peak days only.

Have your best waiter train the rest of the staff. Use their strengths to allow the rest of the team to grow.

I wanted to really love this place looking at all the reviews. I was not feeling well tonight so instead of traveling out, we doordashed this.
FIRST!!!! The steak is awesome! Would really order this steak again, delivery or dine in!
Otherwise the shrimp was so overseasoned that we had to scrape off all of the "extra" to eat them, seriously way too much and I love garlic. The sampler appetizer is not worth the price, the tuna croquette did not taste fresh at all, I only ate half the ball before I couldn't anymore. The coconut shrimp had potential had it not been burned.
Over all, for first timers, we're really disappointed for $115.
Not sure if dining in changes anything but we probably won't be back.

I'm always looking for different places to eat when I visit Lake Geneva and this had been on my list from previous visits so I was happy that it was worth a trip. There were two of us. We had an appetizer, two meals, and two drinks liquor) for about $70. The wings were the appetizer and they were a bit pricey but very tasty. I mean the seasoning was on point with some spice. I had a shrimp and chicken pho meal and my daughter chose the chicken Yano I think with the noodles and vegetables. She barely finished hers and I had leftovers so the servings are good. And the customer service was friendly and efficient. I'll definitely go back.

My wife and I came in on n a Thursday night for a quick date night, grabbed a bite before a movie, close location to theater, most importantly, tranquil, beautiful atmosphere! Mai took care excellent care of us, super attentive, but didn't rush or crowd us to order. We split the calamari and the pork katsu, not too heavy on the Tummy, but full of flavor!! This new little place was very good. The food was so good, prices were ok especially for the area. We were greeted and sat right away. We did come in for a very early dinner. Our server was new but very kind. Husband had the half chicken it he said it was amazing. I had the hibachi shrimp and it was very good. It had tons of bell peppers and carrots.
They also had a special for summer Carbliss for less than $4, that's a steal.

I really wanted to like this place, but wow the food was bad. You could smell the steak was off on one of the meals. We sent it back, and the cook came out to argue that it was fine because of the way they prepared it. They still charged us for that meal even though it had not been touched. The fact that the cook could not tell that the meat had gone bad made the rest of us decide not to finish our meals either. At $35 a person, you expect the food to at least be sanitary.

Had dinner here when staying in Lake Geneva. Very interesting menu with lots of choices. I had the veggie tempura and ramen with tofu which were both very good. Very enjoyable dinner

We visit Lake Geneva all the time, but for some reason, never came here until today. So glad we did!

It is Japanese fusion so the menu has a lot of good variety, everything from Ramen to hibachi to steak entrées. Something for everyone here. My wife and I both got the Tantanmen Ramen and it was delicious! Just the right amount of spice and incredibly flavorful. My wife said it’s so good “It will solve all your problems.”

The place itself is small, but they use the space really well. They have a full bar (including sake). Servers are very friendly and helpful and keep everything clean. There is also limited outdoor seating available in the former months.

Will definitely be back here again!

Best Japanese Cuisine I've had in a long time would definitely come back and traveling three to four states away to have this food the ambience was great perfect relaxing and it was suitable for an evening dinner

Our server Itzel was so personable. She talked with us and talked about what her favorite things were on the menu, perfect conversations. Was such a pleasure! Food was amazing! Will be here again!!

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. My only suggestion would be to make all veggies in the pho and udon the size of the carrots; it’s hard to cut the veggies in the bowl. And to offer soft tofu that has not been fried as an optional add on.

The place was clean and had a vibe, but our waitress seemed put out by our very existence especially when asking for a refill. The food presentation was great, it looked very good but none of it had any flavor. The salad was Spicy chicken...no spice whatsoever and it was iceberg lettuce. Very expensive for what you get.

Atmosphere, food and service were terrific. The only negative to me was NY, LA or Atlanta prices. A bit on the high end side for Lake Geneva. I will certainly be back and try the Gyoza or Shumai. 🎵
