The bartender and host last Saturday were so rude that we almost left. This place use to be a steady MKE classic. The pizza is always good (though isn't like it use to be). The vibe has not changed, literally stuck in the past, but that's ok. The bartender and host treated everyone like total crap. They weren't busy, they were just stuck up jerks to every person in our group and others at the bar. The customers were actually talking amongst ourselves about the chips on their shoulders. - We'll never go back, nor will the new people who we brought for their first time.

This is a classic Milwaukee tavern and pizza joint. It’s not fancy, but it’s welcoming and the thin crust pizza is off the hook! They do a lot of take out so cook times can run a bit long. Worth it.

Definitely a great place to try Milwaukee style pizza.. thin crispy crust.. The Everything Pizza was great; the size of the pizza and the amount of toppings were fair for the price. The bartenders and waiters were attentive and friendly. Only negative the bathroom situation was awkward (not really a designated bathroom area just toilets and a urinal with a sink outside). Parking was out in the street but I think there is parking behind the building to the east. Don't park to the north/ beside the building you could get towed.

We were told by a local to go here and have their authentic pizza. We are so glad we did because it was so delicious. The pizza is very thin and slightly crispy. They put a nice marinara on it and really good Italian sausage. For 2 people, we shared the large.

The service was very kind, although when we walked in we asked if it was ok to park in the lot by the restaurant and we practically got yelled at by the guy behind the bar. It was odd. We aren't from there and there wasn't any good signs to show where we should it shouldn't park. It definitely wasn't a way to be greeted and had the local not told us to go there, we would have just left.

The atmosphere is outdated and run down but that didn't bother us, made it more authentic. I highly suggest going here for lunch and getting any of their pizzas. So delicious and very affordable.

If I could list zero stars I would!

Website listed three sizes of pizza, 10”,12”,14”. I ordered 2 x 14” for delivery at 315 to be delivered “whenever the delivery guy shows up”. The young gal on the phone had no clue about anything on the menu and certainly didn’t think far enough in advance that asking someone of higher authority would be the best solution, just kept saying “I don’t know”.

Pizza showed up in decent fashion, and we paid cash. Upon opening the boxes it was discovered the pizza was 2 x 12” not 14”. Called the store and was met with the manager who flatly declared that “I cooked 14” and that’s that”. So I took pictures and measured….you’re clearly robbing people on sizes by charging more for larger sizes and giving them smaller.

Was so looking forward to coming in for a great pizza however it was bad. Too spicy hot like someone poured salt and pepper all over it. We could barely eat it. Waitress did not come by our table until we were ready to go so I had no refill on my drink and we couldn’t address our concerns about the spicy flavor that we never had before. It wasn’t just the sausage that was spicy it was the entire pizza. We were there at 4:00 so it wasn’t busy yet so there were no excuses for the lack of attention from our server. Oh well. We are from Indiana and came to Milwaukee for a visit. The pizza at Zaffiro's was phenomenal! Our son (9 yo) is a picky eater usually but he went down on the pizza. Ordered a large pizza with sausage mushrooms and artichoke. Sauce very good, other ingredients tasty and good balance. Mushrooms fresh or canned, so if u prefer former make sure to ask. I came in here after escaping a Korean spot that served me what I can only describe as soy sauce sadness. I was down bad and just looking for comfort food that wouldn’t hurt me. First thing to hit the table? The garlic and cheesy bread. I was hopeful. Hungry. Vulnerable. And then, boom! Betrayal. The bread was dry. The garlic was missing like it owed someone money. The cheese? It was barely hanging on, like it didn’t even want to be there. I stared at it, took a bite, stared again….Like maybe I was the problem. But no. That bread was the culinary equivalent of a catfish. Looked promising, tasted like regret. I was on the edge. Ready to walk out and accept defeat. But then… the pepperoni pizza arrived.
Redemption.
It came in hot literally and emotionally. Perfectly crispy crust, saucy in all the right ways, and that cheese-pull? Cinematic. The pepperoni was doing laps around my taste buds like it trained for this moment. THIS is what I came for. THIS is what healed me. Why go to Pizza Shuttle when Zaffiro's is right down the street. Some of the most high quality and delicious pizza in Milwaukee, blows away all the East Side competition besides Lisa's. This place was terrible. We arrived 90 minutes before our movie, ordered an appetizer platter that was 20 dollars, that that had nine dollars in up charges for half a plate of terrible fried food. Then we waited 40 minutes for two wraps that didn't arrive, so we finally had to go into the movie. The beer lines needed cleaning because both beers I tried tasted sour. I went in today with a coworker for lunch as we are working across the street. We both ordered a beer which the bartender was cordial but nothing over the top as expected for a mom and pop hole in the wall. We were really excited to try the pizza as we are both huge foodies. As we were placing our order with an older woman we ordered the everything pizza with no mushroom or sausage and she rolled her eyes sighed very loudly and scribbled out the order and ripped out the order ticket very aggressively and slammed it on the counter and said ‘SO YOU DON’T WANT THE EVERYTHING PIZZA WHATTTT DO YOU WANT ON IT” we finished the order in shock over her behavior and decided against eating the food as we were afraid something would be done do our food. Not sure if she didn’t like our appearance or the fact that we are hispanics but this lafy was way over the top and I definitely do not recommend going there if you are lgbt or POC.

Well damn...I've got to go there. This place really couldn't be more my thing. It's absolutely old school Milwaukee in the best way. The building itself is charming, the bartenders were incredibly friendly and on point with service. The clientele is diverse with a great mix of old timers, younger folks, people who clearly are originally from other countries and everyone just vibes.

Now, the pizza.

I eat and cook pizza as a passion, an addiction, and a love. I came here just to try this pie. This super thin crust tavern-ish pizza was out of this world. I had the sausage special. The flavor was incredible, but the most amazing thing was how it maintained its superb crispness when pipping hot and once it had cooled. Crazy good pie.

I'm amazed reading some of these reviews about how this is the best pizza in Milwaukee- it tastes like greasier Digiorno but for 8x the price. You'd get a better price to quality ratio getting a pizza on uber eats from Chicago. It took an hour and a half for the order to be made, the crust was scorched (which some people may like), and the sauce was a solid 5/10. The mushrooms were the only reason we finished it. We will not be going here again, now we know.

Phew, here we go. To start the server didn’t bring drinks out to us until after the food came out where I had to remind him that we asked for drinks. The Mac and cheese I ordered seemed to be tossed together with milk as the only sauce. The chicken which costed 4$ to add to the plain pasta which was 13$ already(outrageous). Chicken was obviously microwaved and had different temperatures through each piece. The pizza was made of cardboard crust with cheap bowling alley taste to the sauce and grey cheese on top. This was some of the worst food I ever tried to force down my throat. Only way I would order another thing from this place is if they added mouthwash to the menu. Had to poop, shower, and brush my teeth to make my body forget I went here. 0/10

We tried their zaffiro’s salad which was good, but didn’t have any noticeable dressing in it. We split a pizza which we got half pepperoni and half sausage. The pizza was thin, and the flavor was cheesy, mild salty, and had a nice undercarriage which I appreciated. The tenderloin steak sandwich was disappointing however because the sandwich was basically a seasoned meat patty and clearly needed some toppings to add diversity in flavor. We were visiting Milwaukee after being away for several years. I called in a delivery order. The staff member took the order quickly and shared it would be about an hour for delivery - which made sense given the time of our order. It arrived sooner than expected, and the delivery driver was the most delightful human. Our food was hot and delicious. Love that crispy, thin crust. Thank you!

I was recommended this pizza but it's really not great in my French opinion. Some toppings are good :)
We were told to come in 35 min but had to wait 15 more min in front of the restaurant, nothing great to see there although it was sunny outside.

Old school vibes, you can feel the history inside as soon as u walk in. The pizza is super crispy. We had the sausage special with onion.

Tasted okay. I wouldn't go head over heels for the place.
I wasn't necessarily fond of the restrooms. A very small room with only a toilet, no washing sink nor hand sanitizer.

I eat a lot of pizza. This is the cracker crust variety. We bought 4 pizzas. Most were pretty greasy. Flavors were good. One pizza came with unordered anchovies.
